Ideal location to climb Mount Snowdon and propose. The trail starts across the road. The breakfast was fabulous. Rooms were spacious and had everything we required for a comfortable stay.

Some of the breakfast staff could have been a little friendlier. I felt like an inconvinience asking for a hot breakfast and then having to return for a knife and fork. She replied "They should be already on the table". I had to explain why they weren't on the table rather than her just going to obtain some for me. That made breakfast a little uncomfortable. However I didn't allow it to spoil the holiday experience. Overall it was a lovely place to stay.

Breakfast was buffet style, with lots of options. My partner is bulk-eating at the moment and they accommodated bigger portions for him when he asked. It was all delicious! And the staff were lovely. The views from the breakfast room were wonderful and we could see Snowdon from our window. The location is fabulous. It felt really lovely that the area hadn’t commercialised for the tourism for Snowdon - it still feels like a lovely Welsh town with a fabulous community.

The only thing that maybe could’ve been improved was calling down to the front desk to see if they had any plasters / spare toothpastes etc. As the hotel is located at the base of Snowdon we thought they might have some plasters somewhere. That being said, the front desk staff were fabulous as directing us to where we could go and get some when they didn’t have any.

Beautiful Hotel. Clean, tidy and comfortable room with a nice en-suite, powerful shower. Kettle, tea and coffee was supplied. Car parking just outside the coach house rooms, ours was CH11. Location is fantastic, we walked to the slate museum a short distance away (very interesting), the mountain railway and the lake railway is a short 10 minute walk, the walk up Snowden was across the road from the hotel (up a steep road and through gates), Dolbadarn Castle is within the hotel grounds too. Sadly, we didn't have time to visit the waterfall. Food is very good, cooked breakfast and bar meal are top notch, the staff are hard working and friendly, we really liked having a bottle of wine with cheese/biscuits in the gardens, saw rabbits/squirrels.

The tv and wi-fi hardly worked in the 5 days we stayed, we could not watch a whole movie or programme without the picture going hazy and the sound crackling. We struggled for internet and had to go in the main building if we wanted to plan our days and book the railway tickets etc. Not sure if a booster would be the solution to this problem. I read a lot so didn't mind but my husband is always watching tv and using his mobile. Inconsiderate guest next door took a mobile call in the hallway at 3.15am and woke us up, the doors banged shut a few times too, a problem in early hours but not the hotels fault.

Excellent location to visit key places in this part of North Wales. 3 minute walk to the railway for Mount Snowdon. Stunning area. Offered a very good breakfast. Outside garden very nice to sit for drinks, or even the bar meals, which can be ordered at the bar and brought outside. I had stayed at this hotel about 9 years ago (solely for it's location). Thankfully the rooms had all be updated nicely, including the modern bathrooms. there is a very small ruined 13th century castle called Dolbadarn, which is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. My granddaughter loved it, no one else there, spectacular views. Can easily walk to the slate mine museum, which is interesting and free. However, if you choose to drive there it is a 5 pound charge! Take my advice and enjoy the walk if staying at the hotel.

Restaurant does not offer evening meals every day. And on the nights they do, the menu is limited. The one evening dinner I had was very nice, but it is sorely overpriced. My 14 year old granddaughter couldn't find anything on the menu she would eat. We ordered from the bar menu. Can be a bit confusing trying to find your room in the labyrinth of corridors ( add ons in more recent years). The standard room is not large, just adequate. No refrigerators in rooms.

I'd initially booked a double room but changed to a twin and when we arrived it was a double, however a quick call to reception and housekeeping was in the room changing it around with no problem. Plenty of near-bed charging sockets, decent-sized telly, loads of parking, very good choice for breakfast. Very good bar food (didn't try the restaurant). Location is breath-taking.

The room was very warm even though the radiator was off and the window was open so perhaps there was some service plumbing passing near the room. Seemed to cool down around 10pm.

Friendly staff. Choice of where to sit in restaurant. Stunning views. Easy parking. Perfect location to Llanberis Mountain Railway.

Queuing for food was quite long. Hot pots of coffee behind just where people were gathering at serving hatch. Didn't like whatever the Orange juice was! Fruit salad not great. Would like to have had dried fruit and nuts option. Had to ask for natural yogurt. (It was a busy time at the restaurant though - think it had just run out). Informed hotel of friends 60th b'day, little surprise token or "Happy Birthday welcome" would have gone a long way.

Our dinner was the best part of our stay at this hotel. The food was on par with some of the Michelin starred restaurants we've been to in London. The food was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and flavours were natural yet flavoursome. Great job Chef! Bathroom had a heated towel rail which was nice so we could dry our towels before packing them away. Really nice how we had the kettle to make hot drinks. Lovely view from the restaurant conservatory.

We had a blue badge holder so needed one of the disabled parking bays right next to the main entrance. Yet all 3 was taken, but 2 of the cars did not have a blue badge displayed, the hotel receptionist said they had 'forgotten' the badge at home! If you don't have a blue badge with you to prove you are a blue badge holder then you should not be allowed to park in a disabled bay! That's like getting on a train without the ticket and saying you 'left' your ticket at home. In addition, the furniture in the rooms and walls were outdated, looked like it hasn't been refurbished for decades. No air con and it was in the middle of summer so rooms were a bit stuffy even with the fan on so had to open the window but a few bugs flew in

Lovely hotel right at the bottom of Mount snowdon. A short hike to the bottom of Llanberis path. Staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options, full English, Pastry, cereals (free from selection too) and of course the toast machine. Beds were comfortable enough, not a huge amount of room with twin beds a dresser and side table each. Still room to walk freely around beds to the ensuite. And it had the added luxury of a little fan and the window opened to allow air in. Tea coffee etc was in a cute little tray and a treat of the most delicious biscuits.

There wasn't anything I disliked.

Staff approachable & friendly Hotel great location for our running event Receptionist quickly sorted my problem

My initial room (single room), the curtain pole & wall plug hanging out of the wall above my bed! This should have been identified before I checked in. The hotel changed my room at no change (thank you) however the new room the extractor fan did not work in the bathroom and the shower screen did not stop the water leaking onto the floor. The net curtains had holes (rips) in them. The hotel needs some TLC and some maintenance work carried out on the rooms.

Lovely welcome upon arrival, friendly helpful staff throughout our stay. The room was absolutely lovely with a wonderful view of the beautiful landscape that exists in this beautiful country. We loved the gardens and how you could access the castle, we loved the location, it was perfect for our access to hike up the mountain and down again. Really appreciated the location and the overall vibe of this hotel and its passion towards the landscape, seeing art and maps on the wall was excellent. A very special place.

The only think I can say is one day we came down to breakfast at 8.30am as opposed to earlier and most of the pastries, yoghurts and fruit had not been replenished. We did come down a little later than usual so one may say that it is our own fault, but we had been walking a lot the day before and were a little bit tired.
