Fabulously close to the arcades and beach! Town shops are just around the corner as is the harbour-side. Hotel was clean throughout, room service was spot on and little touches like the bottles of water were a welcome touch (especially in the hot weather) All the staff were brilliant. Smiles and warm welcomes and very helpful. This really makes a difference to have such great staff! The ‘beach box’ is a great idea. Spades and buckets and other stuff for sand castles and whatnot. What a great idea and something we made use of. Walking along the front at night, so many folk just throw away buckets and spades they don’t need any more, so it’s great to see this initiative!

If we had to pick one thing, the bed was a little harder than we’re used to but I think that is just personal preference and it’s the only thing we could think of!

We absolutely loved the location when we stayed at the Alexandra hotel . We had the beach and arcades right outside the hotel which is so much better for a family when kids love the beach and arcades so much . The hotel was superb too , the staff were very polite , you had board games you could play and books to read if the weather was not great or if you wanted to wind down before going to bed . There is a bar on site and also able to have pizzas that the hotel make and they also offer hot drinks my son loved the hot chocolates when we stayed . Our room size was perfect and the view too . There was soo many positives to our stay and we would happily come stay again :)

There was not anything that we did not like . The only thing i would comment on is that there was a slight condensation issue in our room . If you was in the shower for too long it caused damp air in the room so meant having windows open at night time to be able to get rid of condensation trapped in the room . Windows i think were single glazed in our room and let a slight draft in .

A seafront hotel in a jolly seaside resort, nicely placed between the funfair and beach (to the left) and the quieter, more sedate and upscale harbour (to the right). I found the information provided about parking very frank: we bagged a spot before registering, but I can imagine that if you're less lucky than we were - a car pulling out just ahead of us - you may have to have a couple of goes, or else pay. Oh and the sea view from our room was a nice surprise - at other places we've just had a view of a wall or roofs!

the pickiest I can be is the outside makes the hotel look a little outdated but the inside is fantastic. it’s a real hidden gem. the room was really clean, view of the sea from the room was fantastic and the room contained everything you needed. The comfy beds were also a real bonus and made it hard to get up in the morning. The children were overjoyed when they woke up, asked if they could put the tv on and found Netflix. Don’t forget to try the continental breakfast too as that is a real treat with a selection of cereal, fruit, toast and pastries.

Was literally a last minute booking for a day away and as we are young in heart but aging in body we decided to travel down the night before. Staff were really knowledgeable and friendly , the room was spotless with a great view .

Bed was a tad on the small size but I am taller than the average bear , and as I said it was a last minute last room booking so I don't think it counts as a winge. Parking in the area is notoriously bad but we expected that. Bottom line would I recommend and use again , well yes why not .

Location is great and the staff are really nice. The spanish beer on draught is a double bonus! Following a small incident involving other guests, that could have easily gotten out of hand, the hotel manager and staff were absolutely terrific in the way they handled the situation.

There was nothing we didn't like regarding the hotel. The parking is a little tricky round there, but the young lady working in the hotel gave us some good advice regarding where we could park overnight.

Currently undergoing some refurbishment but minimal disruption. Very friendly and helpful staff Grace assisted us while we waited for our room (we were early). We were in room 10 very comfy beds and nice size. Nice view of the beach and sea. Refreshments replenished and bins emptied even though it was a two night stay. Very clean and tidy. Quick boil kettle. Generous bottles of shampoo and body wash for the shower which was easy to use. Water was nice and hot.

Water pressure in sink is a little low and would have liked a clock.

Bed was slightly harder than our own but still a good night sleep. Plenty of space around bed and the on suite had a large shower. Great view of beach, Pavilion and some of the harbour. Excellent for town shopping and eatery's. Parking was quite easy and free as you get a permit for your window. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We did not have breakfast as it was continental but it looked good. The bar had a good selection of drinks and reasonable for price. Would definitely stay again.

loved the location, the hotel was central to everywhere harbour, town, amusements and beach, rooms were clean and tidy and the staff super welcoming, it was a little gem of a place. children loved the breakfast and thought it was the best. loved our stay here and looking forward to coming again.

nothing I didn’t like, don’t be put off by the exterior of the building, at first glance it looks very old fashioned and outdated but inside it’s decorated well and tidy.

Large spacious room overlooking the sea front. Clean and pleasantly decorated. Excellent tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water and biscuits. Good size TV, blackout curtains. Very warm so opened a window to let sea air in. Excellent location right on sea front and 5-mins from Pavilion Theatre. parking permit supplied by hotel. Pleasant receptionist.

No bath but decent hot shower and good size bathroom. Double bed mattrass too hard for our liking and mattrass was hot.
