We very much liked the location, a few steps out and you have a lovely view of the quay stood by the bridge. Handy little shops right on your doorstep.

Slightly inconvenience having to hand in your bedroom key in to reception every time you want to exit the building. Sometimes we would have to wait in a queue to hand in and to ask for it back. I understand why they want to do it this way (fire reasons) but this has to the one only hotel I’ve come across that does this. One little problem we noticed which can be a quick fix, the hall way doors need to be adjusted on the close…they slam loudly when someone passes through. Not everyone manually closes the door slowly & quietly behind them.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. All staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to park our car in the hotel garage at the back of the building. The room was attractively furnished with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for our clothing. There were three beds, a double and a single, so a family room. The view looked over the harbour bridge and was very pleasant. The en-suite was excellent and well sized. We were on the third floor and the lift was a short walk away. The location was excellent with the harbour, pubs and food outlets within easy walking distance of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and expect to use that hotel again. The hotel is popular with coach parties.

We found that the electric shower in the en-suite didn't have an adequate supply of water for us and it was difficult to rinse the soap off. We didn't say to the staff as our stay was only a few days.

Helpful, friendly staff. Bathtub, not just a shower, was much appreciated. Nicely refurbished with a very traditional English atmosphere! We enjoyed the breakfast too. The central location is practical for visiting but the disadvantage was a lot of noise from the nearby pubs and bars at night.

The twins beds were jammed together - it would have been better had there been at least some small distance between them. Also some better arrangement for accessing the hotel from the internal hotel garage would make life easier when it rains - perhaps a keypad doorlock for guest use would solve the problem.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the middle of Weymouth beside the bridge. It's an easy walk from the beach, shops, restaurants, pubs, harbour, and railway station. The rooms were very clean and tidy, with very good wifi for a hotel. There was a small music festival going on across the road, but the windows shut out the sound completely, which was very impressive. Staff were fantastic, too! Very welcoming and helpful. We were very happy with our decision to stay here!

The place could definitely do with a new lift; the one they have is very small (3 persons max), old, and painfully slow. I'm sure it was safe enough, but we felt very uneasy using it. At mealtimes the ground floor smelt like a care home, so we didn't try the food. The shower was completely useless. The pressure wasn't even enough to wash my hair. We ended up just using a bucket and washing our hair over the sink. I know this problem wasn't just our room, because some other guests brought it up in conversation as we were waiting for the lift. All that being said, I must stress that these were all minor problems, and would not put me off staying again or recommending The Crown to others in future.

A great hotel with all the facilities like a bar and function rooms. In a great location with friendly staff. The room was good quality with an excellent shower. The breakfast was very good too.

For future reference, you need to remember to write specifically to what you want to eat at breakfast on the order sheet provided, once you have been seated .If you are vegan or vegetarian, you need to write this on the sheet, like soya milk for your tea or coffee. Also, you will need to be specific with your order, with like writing on the form that you want mushrooms and tomatoes for example.

We loved the location , the staff were friendly, happy and helpful. Very clean , the house cleaning staff had a high level of cleanliness. The manager was very welcoming and all staff . Breakfast was good value , we had also a couple of meals in the hotel , food was delicious and good value as prices are about the same as other food places . I can't fault at all this wonderful hotel and have been back a few times now , each time has been the same experience. Thank you too all the staff for making our stays feel home from home . We will be back 😀

The hotel has a beautiful staircase and a large quiet sitting room with some board games in it. A great space to sit and look at the view of the harbour. Everything in the hotel was clean and comfortable and had retained some features of old world charm. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. We only stayed one night. I would definitely stay again.

There was a birthday party going on the night we stayed and this could be heard from our room but it had stopped before bed time and actually great that a hotel like this is being used and is obviously thriving.

Room 3 was exceptionally clean and looked newly decorated. Enough space around the room. Breakfast was delicious. Lesley took care of us and nothing was too much. This lady deserves a pay rise or some gold recognition. Lesley was the happiest, caring, attentive and most amazing server I've known to date, we've stayed at some top hotels and Lesley's service beats them by miles. Thankyou Lesley xx

The placement of the television was a really bad choice. We had to twist our bodies awkwardly to see it. I have slipped discs in my back and could not sit in an awkward position to watch it

The staff were friendly and helpful, the en suite bathroom was fine, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The hotel is old school and a little quirky. The guest lounge is quite nice and has a good outlook over the street and the bridge. We were lucky in that the wifi reception was very good in our room. (18 on the first floor). Wifi is available in common areas.

The lift was small and slow but at least there was one! The hotel seems to cater for elderly coach parties and the entertainment was geared to the older clientele but was held in the ballroom every night I think. It was very bright in the ballroom and it would be more inviting if the lighting was more subdued. Our room was quite small and didn't have a view (like most rooms I believe) and can be a little dark if lights not put on. Unless sleeping you would not want to spend a lot of time in your room.

My expectations for the time of year we booked was hugely lower for the price we paid. We couldn't fault anything. We would have no hesitation in booking again. Fabulous central location with many bars and eateries around with the harbour a few steps away. The efficiency of how the hotel was run, especially around meal times was wonderful as were the staff. We requested a fan for our room within minutes of arrival which was delivered to our room immediately without any hesitation. Weymouth was heaving with holiday makers during our 2 night stay but due to our room being at the rear, we didn't here any noise other than seagulls. It was a joy to stay!

Couldn't fault anything.
