It’s hard to fault The Belfry. Fantastic B and B. Quality from start to finish. Great rooms, comfortable beds , and tasteful decor, and wonderful quiet location. Free parking ,by permit, given to you on arrival. Wonderful breakfast that sets you up for the day ahead. Owners and staff are fantastic, they can’t do enough for you. Lovely feel to The Belfry and so close to Whitby town centre and not far from the Abbey. Difficult to beat overall. You’ll be staying in a memorable B & B, that will be hard to beat.

Initially I thought parking via the free permit given on arrival might be tricky, but we never had a problem finding a space when we went out on about. The only problem was we didn’t stay there long enough.

Great Location!! Clean and room was lovely and bright! Warm and comfy room as well. I stayed with my little boy too he loved it just as much. Only thing as this is personal preference the pillows were a little hard for me but that’s just personal preference. Brreakfast wad lovely and the tea and coffee/biscuit selection was nice. I loved the fresh water and also the option for fresh milk was a lovely touch! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for making my little boy and me feel safe and welcome. 😊

The location was great as only a five/ten minute walk to the centre of Whitby. The reason we chose this B&B over others was that you could get a parking permit before checking which saved a lot of time and money worrying and sorting out parking. The breakfast was good with a wide variety offered. The staff we saw were friendly and helpful. If returning to the area I would return to The Belfry.

The only thing I think could have improved the stay would be better coffee being available in the rooms. The sachets that were there whilst appreciated, as it is always nice to be able to have a brew in your room, were not great at all to the point that it wasn't drank and I opted for a tea instead. But as mentioned a small thing, which is the only think that could have improved the stay.

This was an absolute find. Everything is done so well, so thoughtfully, and I mean everything. Even the intelligent system to get your parking permit, to getting through the secure door, it is just the work of smart people who have nailed the art of hotelling. Utter quality, terrific breakfast, lovely neighbourhood, and what a classy building. Fantastic stuff, really top notch.

The breakfast was fantastic and the service was wonderful. Staff were friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome! The room was clean and overall had great facilities. The location was ideal - a short walk into the centre, but removed enough that it felt quiet and safe. We had such a fantastic time, and we can't wait to return.

Lots of stairs to get to the room - fine for my partner and myself - but some may find it a struggle (but as an old townhouse, it can't be helped!)

Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The hotel had been recently and rather well refurbished. Altogether a very pleasant place to stay. The quality of the breakfast was great. Whitby, which is a charming, interesting town, is not very big, although it is very hilly, and so everywhere is easily reached on foot from the hotel. The wifi worked well. Whitby is well-known for its fish & chips. My wife thought that the enormous plateful she was served at Abbey Wharf was the best she'd ever eaten.

Entry to the hotel is do-it-yourself, as the owners no longer live on the premises. There is no one to greet visitors. It's a bit unnerving but all went very smoothly. Parking is in the road outside but a parking permit is waiting for you when you arrive and it covers the whole of your stay, ie, for our single night, we were covered for both our arrival day and the following one, so that we could explore the town. The price we paid did seem a bit steep for essentially a B&B.

Lovely room, great location. came for goth weekend with my partner and had a wonderful time. very nice shower and bath, we both felt very comfortable and slept well too. the hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast was very good. will definitely stay here again!! thank you.

Price was alittle more than i would have wanted to pay, however this was a last minute trip so the extra price was expected, totally my fault for booking the night before!

The Belfry had received very positive feedback from previous residents, so we arrived with high expectations and were certainly not disappointed. Phill and Sophie run a tremendous guest house which is spotless, is very tastefully decorated and provides everything the traveller / holidaymaker requires. I'm a bit of a 'foody', and breakfast was fantastic.

My wife and I have several short breaks of 2 to 4 days duration each year and have stayed in many guest houses which are very good, but The Belly in Whitby is certainly up there with the best we have ever stayed in.

Everything was perfect. Sophie and Phil worked extremely hard to ensure are needs were met. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, comfortable and the décor was fabulous, a credit to them both. The kitchen was not short of anything for a comfortable self-catering stay, they even had a large bike storage area in the hallway. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Fab room, spacious, very clean, bed great, shower brilliant. Service most professional and breakie very good. Lovely offering of bucks fizz for Christmas stays and daily breakie special such as pancakes, smoked salmon etc. Fabulous stay- owners should be proud.

Would consider upgrade of sausages on breakfast to stand out from the crowd and perhaps small offering of fresh fruit. That's a matter of personal taste hence no reflection in score which is 10 out of 10.
