We love the location of the Dolphin, we have stayed at the Dolphin for the past five years in every room the view from our room was excellent.

The cleanliness of the Dolphin wasn’t up to the usual standard, we had a great view but the windows were filthy, the room was very dusty, I had to clean the toilet before we could use it streaks of pee down the outside of the toilet pan, we usually like to sit in the outside area and have a drink but it was filthy, tables were filthy, ashtrays overflowing and I didn’t like seeing all the staff congregate together smoking while going in and out serving customers at one point there was six sat together

Very friendly & helpful staff who ensure you have a good stay with them..I'm an early riser and love a desent coffee in a morning before breakfast ,the staff were happy to make me and hubby a couple of free coffees.Room was lovely, spacious & a amazing view of the harbour!!

The only down side was the amount of steps to our room.I have MS so was very challenging and would of liked the option of a first floor room that would be easier for me.On the up side was the wonderfull view though on the top floor!! So even though the amount of steps was very challenging, I'm pleased I chose the top floor!

Spacious room with very comfortable bed with lovely bed linen and decent sized towels. Good view over harbour to see swing bridge. Central to Whitby everything to visit within a 10 minute walk. water and fresh milk in a fridge on the landing to help yourself to; and good quality coffee bags in the room.

Sort walk to hotel from carpark £18 parking for overnight and the morning. car park recommended was full. Food was good; limited menu and traditional pub grub; fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast very good; fruit salad could have been fresher but lots of toast and coffee and pancakes good. Nothing else to say that we didn't like.

The staff were lovely, the rooms are a good size, the towels were the best and the food was really nice. We really liked the proper milk for our cuppas and the coffee bags were a lovely touch too. The location is ideal for exploring Whitby.

We should have checked but there is no lift to get up to the rooms, Not usually a problem for us but my other half had just not long had surgery so was exhausted after doing the stairs. The room was quite hot and the fan that is in the room could be better as you don’t really feel the cold air unless you’re right next to it.

What lovely friendly staff. Lovely lady that served us breakfast on Monday morning, nothing was a problem for her. Comfortable beds, huge room looking over estuary in bay window, big bathroom, tea, coffee, oat milk sachets, fridge on landing with real milk and water. Lovely good make of biscuits ( yummy) My sister had a room on second floor, wasn't as big but ample and everything was spotless. Good place for all of Whitby. We loved it. It's an old pub with character. Hope we can return again sometime.🙂

Nothing, even though it was a Goth weekend, everyone was friendly and happy.

Staff were exceptional, every single one! Breakfast was fabulous. The room was very clean. Cookies were lovely on arrival and drink selection good! The sheets were good and the bed very comfortable. Very spacious room and en-suite!

Only found two sockets and missed having one near the bed. No cookies, herbal teas or water provided for the second day, just regular tea and coffee. We did request water and got it, I’m sure if we had asked, we could have had the other items but I don’t like asking! There is noise from the pub below, but in al honesty, we didn’t find that was a problem. Didn’t find the chairs in the room at all comfortable, sadly. All small issues and the positive far outweigh these few issues!

Great location to easily walk to all areas of Whitby. Friendly staff and a decent breakfast. Room was a great size and we had the room overlooking the harbour and bridge. Daily replenishing of coffee and tea, with real milk.

We enjoyed all aspects of the stay. Parking in general in Whitby is hit and miss so this time we used the Justpark app and had a private drive which was 10 minute walk from the Dolphin.

Breakfast was very good. Good choice well cooked. Service very good we really enjoyed it also served at a sensible time. The room we had was large with a great view of Whitby. Bed very confey full size bath with a shower. The pub is right in the centre of Whitby so could not be better. All the staff very friendly

The only slight nigle is that the out side windows could be cleaner, though we appriciate the difficulty doing this with the many recient storms

Great atmosphere staff great 👍 Whoever pulled my Guinness absolutely perfect. (Lady with shirt hair) knows what shes doing! Went to the Golden Lion on recommendation, the Guinness at The Dolphin blew it away.

This was my 2nd stay at The Dolphin wish I'd stuck to what I knew, should have had meals there like last year! and drank the Guinness like last year (my fault) I did try for 2 night stay! Unable to do so, that was my only dissapointment, See you next year.

The location is fabulous, right in the heart of Whitby, all the staff are so lovely, thoughtful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing, plenty of choice and beautifully prepared. We had lovely meals in the evenings too The room was lovely & quiet, exceptionally clean and bed very comfortable. Big thank you to the hosts, Alison & Dave(?sorry if I’ve got that wrong guys) also to Owen who remembered my name and was so helpful throughout and Julie who looked after us so well and all the staff there who helped to make our stay so fabulous We are booking again and can’t recommend high enough. Well done The Dolphin! 😊
