Top class guest house. Very clean, great fresh bedding, great comfy bed, lovely room, breakfast fab, only a few mins walk from town centre - looks further away on map than it is. Can't fault it really.

Well since you ask all I can think of is: When booking I asked if we could park early (having of course no idea whatever what size the car park is) and was told no and then told curtly to cancel my booking! Don't know what that was about. I was only asking! Maybe a computer thing. There was also some sort of issue about booking breakfast when we arrived that I had no idea about. Was breakfast available online I would have booked it then. Window fitting made it hard to close, so worth looking at. But none of this really matters. It was really great here and if anything was better I suppose than we thought it might be. It has the feeling of a very well run, very highly maintained, very clean, tight ship. thank you to the owners . We would highly recommend the Grove to anyone.

Location is 10 mins walk into town. Opposite Pannett Park. Very welcoming hosts. Clean and very comfortable with everything you need for a short or long stay. Free parking to the rear. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Adequate storage space. Superior twin room was a good size with room to move about. Bathroom was on the small side but suitable for needs. Fridge outside room no.1 if wanted milk or to use for anything small. Breakfast pre-order night before and food delicious with wide range of choice.

B&B was by a roundabout so some road noise can be heard. No air con or fan should room get too warm. Car park on the small side. Steps front and rear.

The room we were given was actually the flat/apartment which was more than we had asked and paid for. It was spacious and the kitchen was equipped well. The bed was comfortable and all the basics were included. Breakfast was classic-ly English with the fry up but you have a few requests which can be made. Definitely appreciated the fruit and Cereal options. Thanks to Joanna and Danny for the lovely few nights!

The shower was good but due to the ceiling it was not meant for taller people. My other half is over 6 foot and it was a squeeze but it's manageable and hardly put a damper on our stay! The only other point of note is the lack of window in the bedroom and bathroom of the flat but it didn't particularly bother us, we just made sure to open the window in the kitchen to air the place after showers. There is also a dehumidifier for this provided by Joanna and Danny.

We have stayed before and were given the same room which was great, it's a really clean and beautifully presented property, the bed was really comfy and clean. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly and really respect privacy and it is so lovely that they welcome you with a little packet of fudge! Also having a car park is brilliant as it is not cheap to park in Whitby! It is also in such a perfect location, 5 minutes walk to town and right across from the beautiful Pannett Park I don't think I'd stay anywhere else!

Beautifully presented guest house - exceptional decor and the layout is fantastic. Every room, every communal space was pleasing to the eye due to the way it had been put together. The hosts Joanna and Danny are the best! the breakfast was the best I've ever had away from home, a wide selection is offered and the fresh, local ingredients are just superb. Lovely touches like crisps and fudge and fresh milk in a fridge on the landing. Happy fellow guests, no surprise that they tend to re book! Thank you for a lovely stay and your kindness

Nothing to dislike! This place is so good, you won't be easily satisfied when you stay somewhere else!

As soon as we arrived at The Grove we were made welcome. The hotel is beautifully decorated and on every landing there is a seating area. The room was lovely and very clean with every thing you need for a comfortable stay. Fresh fruit was available every day in the reception area which is a lovely touch. Host very knowledgeable regarding the area and things going on. Not too far from town centre. Definitely will stay here again. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay

Everything perfect

Very comfortable. Good location near to town. Good communication prior to arrival and very friendly and helpful during stay. The ‘ hospitality tray’ in the room was excellent..and fresh milk in the fridge on each landing was appreciated. Excellent breakfast. Free parking.

There were a lot of steps to get in and out of the property. This is a comment not a criticism as we did know there were steps before we went and it wasn’t too much of a problem for us on this occasion. However, it would’ve been different, had it been wet! It would be a consideration for us with booking again

The Grove is in a fantastic location being just a short walk to Whitby Harbour. No worries/extra costs with parking as we didn’t need to use the car during our stay. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. It was definitely a home from home. The hosts, Danny and Joanna also leave lots of additional treats in the room - bottled water, crisps, hot chocolate and even fudge! These proved very welcome after a day of exploring Whitby. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating, every detail has been thought of to ensure a happy stay. We can’t recommend The Grove enough and we would book again for our future trips to Whitby. Our 8 year old loved it too!

Location was good just a short walk into the centre and had parking. Owners were nice and friendly. I asked about oat milk the day we arrived and was pleasantly surprised to see it at our table the next morning. Rooms lovely, enjoyed our stay.

Pre ordering breakfast. Prefer to decide what I would like that morning. But the food was nice and good quality. Only slight negative was cooked breakfast not very warm second morning. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

We were offered the chance to upgrade our room to the apartment which had a kitchen and living room, which we took because it had a separate entrance and because we were at a wedding we didn't want to disturb anyone coming back! I'm glad we did because it was a perfect little space. The hosts were brilliant and welcoming and the included breakfast was great. The little touches they did like the bag of fudge in the room (which was amazing!) and the bowl of fruit you could help yourself to made it very welcoming.

The only real issue we had was with the hot water! It started out hot in the bath but when we switched the shower on it went cold after a while. We forgot to mention it at the time and then by the end of the stay we were getting hot water so we probably did something wrong!
