Friendly staff, good clean rooms, Hotel located well in the town, lovely staff at breakfast and food was good.

Book a meal for 2 on hotel website Fri Steak night no reply via e-mail to confirm? phoned hotel in person and they checked and said yes booked so left at that. Turned up with my Wife on time 7pm member of staff I spoke to checked his book nothing in my name in the book? I said I had reserved on website and spoken to someone on desk to confirm I got told "I will squeeze you in" not what you want to hear when you have travelled 213 miles. To the staffs credit when eventually seated our Steak meal was cooked perfect.

The room was amazing, very spacious and clean. The whirlpool bath was so relaxing and the duck was a little fun addition! Shower was also fantastic! Extremely impressed with the room and view! We ate at the restaurant on the evening and the food was lovely, staff were friendly too.

The breakfast wasn't great. Bacon was tough and the sausage tasted like it had been recooked 3-4 times, it was crispy. No one on reception when we checked out and no one there any time we passed (only when we checked in at 3pm) Pillows were awful, they were hard so didn't have a great sleep at all. Ended up sleeping on the little cushions off the sofa. Noise from the barrels and people talking/shouting at 6.30am.

Was a lovely hotel with a Fantastic atmosphere. We stayed in a double room which was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space, it was very nicely decorated and the bathroom and double shower were extremely clean and the water was hot with good pressure. The staff were amazing, always cheerful and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The bar was well stocked and there were plenty of staff on hand to cater to everyone. The breakfast was Amazing. Cereals, toast, yoghurt, fruit and juice were available and then you could order from the menu with plenty of choices cooked fresh and brought out from a full English to eggs Benedict, there was plenty of choice to suit everybody’s tastes. The restaurant food looked amazing and was really reasonably priced We ate out on this trip but will definitely try it on our next visit.

Didn’t find anything to dislike.

The hotel is in a good central location for getting around Whitby, it was very clean and nicely decorated. Our room was on the 3rd floor with lovely views of the abbey and the sea, it was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our 3 day stay, the fan was really useful as the weather was very warm. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereal, fruit, yogurt and toast to help yourself to. Full English and poached eggs and toast were good, porridge a bit to thick for me, staff serving breakfast were friendly and very efficient. Didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening as meals finished by about 8:00 which is a bit early for us on holiday so can’t comment on that. Parking is on street in designated areas around Whitby, free with a scratch card provided by the hotel. We found a spot about 5 minutes walk away so not too bad. Some nice places to eat and drink nearby.

Parking. Wasn’t too bad for us but wouldn’t like to have to carry the luggage much further to we had to.

Lovely property and a nice cosy stay in Whitby. facilities were all fine and provided us everything we needed. Our room has a double bed which we would prefer a king size bed as a preference however nine were available at the time. This would make the stay just that little more perfect! we would stay again and recommend to friends.

On the morning of our departure, there was some workmen banging around before departure time at 10:30am. luckily for us we were already up and been for a great breakfast - however some guests weren’t up yet - they weren’t best impressed and I could see why as it was rather loud! my recommendation is if guests all have to depart by 10:30am, make the workmen come after this time rather than during early morning hours when people are still sleeping. It could lose custom as a result, especially when you’re on your holidays, it’s the last thing you want to be hearing/experiencing drilling and hammering around your rooms.

We've stayed here a couple of times now and have really enjoyed our time there. The staff are brilliant, very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The room was lovely, bit of a warp in the floor, but that's to be expected in an old building like this. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and recommend it. The location is good, lots of shops, pubs and restaurants in walking distance.

Nothing. My sister is disabled and we're both getting on a bit, so struggled this time getting back up the hill to the hotel, however that doesn't put us off staying again as the area itself is great and the hotel, staff and facilities make up for it. We found walking the longer, gentler walk up the Khyber Pass much better for us.

Good choice of continental and a number of cooked options for breakfast. Great start to the day. Service was excellent and staff friendly and professional. Although the hotel is on a hill it is located well to get around and see the sights.

Hotel presently under renovation, so there was scaffolding outside building, this should of been mentioned, although it didn't spoil our stay. The hotel being on a steep hill was difficult for me as l have health issues,therefore it required lots of stops to catch my breath going to and from main town area.

We booked a small double room on the first floor & it was more than adequate for the two of us for a few nights. We were worried that the room may be a bit small as we are both over 6ft tall but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was modern, spotlessly clean & nicely decorated. There is a lovely nautical/historical theme throughout the hotel which sets it apart from the rest. The bed was large & comfy & all possible amenities were provided which was a nice touch. The staff stored our luggage for us & they were always friendly & helpful. Had a great time & could not fault anything. We will definitely book again.

If we had to be really picky (even though it didn’t affect our stay) the toilet & sink were leaking but the water evaporated quickly with the heat.

The room was really spacious, very clean & well decorated. The breakfast was lovely & the lady who booked us in & the ladies & gent on this morning at breakfast were extremely helpful. The hotel in general is very clean & well decorated & had a quirky but lovely feel about it.

The original gent who we asked questions to regarding parking & the lift before we booked in, was a little short in his responses & a little rude. My partner asked a question & the reply was 'I don't know, you'll have to check' It was the only bad 5 minutes of the whole stay, a shame really. Maybe the gent was having a bad day.

Was a little dubious walking into the restaurant to check in (came in the wrong door) and up the corridor/ stairwell, but the room was gorgeous and exceeded my expectations! It was absolutely huge and loved the dressing table area. Got breakfast and buffet was included in price and was lovely. Location is brilliant and free parking in W disk zones was a nice bonus. Requested a room with a view of the Abbey and it did not disappoint! Ate in the restaurant the evening we checked in too and it was lovely, good value for money. The ceiling is amazing! 😍
