Lovely hotel and decor throughout, stunning location. We had spacious room 117 with a balcony giving breath taking views, all in-room facilities were fabulous too. Everywhere was clean, our huge bed was super comfy, spotless bedding, had a great sleep. All the staff were helpful, friendly and professional - special mention to Lynn (receptionist extraordinaire). We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

The food - such a shame as all the other elements of our stay were excellent/perfect. Evening meal - over priced, poor quality ingredients, presentation had no wow factor. I understand offering limited menu choices given many guests might prefer to eat elsewhere but what is offered should be of a far superior quality than it was which would tempt more guests to eat in. Overall, very disappointing. Breakfast - good variety of choices however the cooked items weren't hot, poor quality ingredients and the presentation was average. Unfortunately our food experiences fell extremely short from our expectations. Really looking forward to returning but, sadly, will probably eat elsewhere.

English breakfast. Unless you go down at 7.00am everthing is over cooked. At the prices you charge full "english" should be cooked when ordered. People will not mind waiting for a fresh cooked breakfast. James Kedian

The location. The room was allotted to us as upgrade after paying to lake view. But it was really not full lake view but just from a corner of room. So paying 20 pounds for upgrade was a waste

While checking out, my partner was going downstairs to put the stuff in the car. But she was stuck up in the lift. After I did not found her downstairs near the car, I went upstairs again to find her. But she was nowhere. Then I looked at the lift and heard some voice coming from inside the lift and to my horror. it was my partner shouting for help. I immediately contacted the reception but no one could do anything and even they did not had the lift release key. My partner is heart patient and I was getting panicked as the time passed. Emergency services were called who arrived in 5-6 minutes and they attempted to open the lift and bring it down which took them to bring it down. It was just very unpleasant experience.

Good elevated position of hotel in town - above the milling throngs, but not far to go when getting to the centre was important. Very positive and likeable staff. A clever arrangement whereby you could opt out of servicing the room on the basis of supporting the environment so that there wasn't the usual need in hotel bedrooms to arrange things in view of the entry of the cleaning staff. Easy parking on the premises although with a £5 nightly charge. Excellent, generous breakfast. Good clear explicit charging arrangements. Feeling of spaciousness.

Not much. Some wear on the heavy traffic parts of the carpeting altho overall very clean.

Stunning location, sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake was amazing, a little disappointed in the "Lake View" from our room, we had booked a lake view room, unfortunately with the wall outside the room and the blind in the room this made the lake view difficult to see, this however did not detract from the overall stay. The breakfast is very good, plentiful and a good variety of hot and cold options. Good on site parking is available. Hotel in general is very quite and even though there was a big awards evening going on in the function room we did not hear any noise. Staff were great, pleasant, helpful and polite.

A small but comfortable room. Good buffet breakfasts with plenty of choice. Excellent location close to the centre of Bowness. Very pleasant and hardworking staff. Very good evening meals.

The hotel clearly has difficulty in recruiting staff. On our first night two members of staff had to man the front desk, run the bar and wait in the restaurant. We waited 40 minutes for our first course and decided to eat elsewhere on subsequent evenings (there are some excellent restaurants in Bowness). This was a shame because the staff are working very hard, they are good at what they do and they are very pleasant - the hotel is simply understaffed.

Room was clean, and adequate for our purpose. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and done as a help yourself hot and cold buffet. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful when needed. Parking was very easy with plenty of spaces and we managed to get parked just below our room at the front of the hotel every day, but this was very early in the season and very quiet. A good sized lift to the second floor was a benefit for our access to the room.

Evening meals were very expensive, so we only had them on 2 occasions, choosing to eat elsewhere instead. Being disabled I found that walking from the hotel was quite difficult due to the very steep slope up to the hotel location. Looked great on google maps but I neglected to use the google walk/street option, perhaps I wouldn't have booked if I had done my research better. That was my fault, the hotel was still very good. Using the car to travel to close by restaurants etc wasn't really practical with parking, so the difficult walk became the best option.

During or stay there was a conference in which people just dumped cars anywhere and everywhere which was a nightmare due to cars being blocked in the allocated car parking spaces, signal on the TV weren't the best and kept dropping off every 10 minutes and the speakers were on there way out on the TV, the climate control settings were difficult to work with no instructions so some nights it was quite cold in the room

Liked the out door decking area to take in the view with a nice drink.

Some of the building was very tired and looked dirty. We were on the third floor and when using the stairs someone had split what looked like tea or coffee on the skirting board nobody had cleaned it up in the time we were there. Same in room something split and not cleaned up. Didn’t like how you had to pay for parking on top of the room. They charged our card £50 and told us we will get this back if not used on food or drink. When asking on checkout they said it will take couple of days to go back on. This is something that should be done, not in the current climate as it may be funds that somebody doesn’t have and isn’t expecting!!!
