Crathorne Hall is a beautiful property with ornate period decorations. The roomsare a good size and comfortable, and the bar and restaurant welcoming and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and attentive and the food of a particularly high quality. I was travelling alone on business and found the hotel to be very comfortable and relaxing after a long day working. If I am back this way again I will definitely be booking here.

the room had a few cobwebs and surface level dust, as well as a handful of flies that reappeared time and time again. there was a wedding function going on at the time so I suspect staff were reallocated to longer staying guests. However I had a 2 night stay and expected the very highest of standard given the cost. I do love the grandeur of the Crathorne though and a plus is its location to the Five Houses farm shop virtually next door.

Although I booked a room at the cheaper end of the scale it was beautiful and very luxurious. Generally in most hotels you really do get basic but this room was outstanding. Special mention to Byron the concierge/barman who looked after our every need when we checked in late. He very kindly took our luggage to our room and then organised meals & drinks in the bar. A credit to the hotel.

The lift was a bit complicated... only used it once, we chose to use the stairs after that.

-the esthetic beauty of the hotel, surrounded by lush greenery that provided a serene and inviting atmosphere - The staff at the hotel were incredibly caring and attentive. Kids friendly ( goodie bags at arrival For kids, snacks for the road at the departure ) - The cuisine was nothing short of amazing. Both breakfast and dinner offerings were delicious and diverse, catering to a wide range of tastes. The quality and presentation of the food were top-notch, making every meal a delightful experience.

Absolutely everything. Emma was so very accommodating. I had mentioned on booking that I had recently got engaged (last week) and we were over celebrating with friends that live in Yarm. We were upgraded to a superior room and by coincidence there was a wedding show on display. Beautiful room, with a magnificent free standing bath, beautiful staff. So very pleased with our stay here and we will definitely be back to celebrate.

Our room was huge, with a very comfortable bed, stunning views, and a nice big bathroom. The grounds are exquisite, and the forest walk was lovely. We loved everything about our stay. The best part about staying at Crathorne Hall though is the magical staff. Martin and Gloria made us feel like family, and their personal attention was the difference that made the difference. We had a little mishap with our room which when we reported it to reception was dealt with extremely quickly and we changed rooms………all done in 10mins! The service we received at reception, during our afternoon tea and breakfast the following morning was exemplary. Afternoon tea and breakfast the following morning were delicious.

The room was lovely and relaxing, the hotel is beautiful, the food was excellent and every member of staff from Nicola/Olivia/Sara and Alan were fabulous and made husbands birthday weekend! Can’t wait to go back for longer but owing to work commitments we could only stay one night.

Really terrific country house style experience. Reception rang day before to check configuration of children's beds so they could have them ready for us on arrival - it's rare for a hotel to ring before check in and it was greatly appreciated. Lots of small touches and attention to detail added to the enjoyment. Food was excellent, we had dinner and breakfast at the hotel main restaurant. There is bar meal option for more casual dining - though the bar is relatively small and cosy / intimate so wouldn't be an ideal place for bar meals for a young family with small children but fine for older ones. Service from all the staff we encountered was outstanding. Some super local bridleways / foot paths for runners from the doorstep.

For the first time in a very long time, I'm struggling to find anything to write in this box! It's no more expensive to stay here than in a comparable property in say Harrogate or York but way better overall value here. Decent coffee and tea selection in rooms, super comfy beds and room fabrics / furnishings. We had two deluxe doubles as travelling with children and they were both a good size, decent bathrooms. Loved going for a run around the grounds and then out into the wider area and back, really in the countryside yet accessible to main roads. Really excellent Thank you!

Reminiscing about our visits to Mrs Davidson in the kitchen in the late 60s & 70s & even earlier for my husband. Walking around the grounds. The very tasty & generous toasted club sandwich we had in our room. The view from our bedroom window. The extremely comfortable bed & pleasant room. Chatting with the Receptionist & the Breakfast waiter about the Hall and the Dugdales.
