Room was very comfortable & quiet, plenty of options for breakfast & nice selection for dinner including daily specials. Lovely village location, with plenty of walking opportunities, weather permitting.

Hard to fault as Ive been a regular customer & now regular visitor, I didn't think to book ahead for the evening meal on day of arrival but staff helpfully fitted me in & it won't be a problem next time as I shall plan ahead.

Evening meal and breakfast were really good and decent portions. I was advised that it was bingo night at the pub and I was welcome to join in and that I could join a friendly table if I wished.

I messaged that I would be arriving early and I received an message back confirming this but the pub was locked on arrival and no one answered the emergency number therefore waited 3 hours before staff arrived to find out there was a side door I could have tried.

Check in was very quick and simple. The room was spotless and nicely laid out. The bathroom was equally clean if not more so. Dinner in the pub itself was a pleasure with uncomplicated food made really well at a good price. Buttermilk panna cotta with honeycomb pieces and mango sorbet deserves a special mention... The level of provisions (personal care items/range of soaps etc) in the en-suite bathroom showed a considerable amount of thought had gone into what was available and would likely cover most eventualities. Ample parking off street and easy to get to. Much like dinner breakfast was good fuss free food made well with the little good morning sign being a nice touch.

This truly is an exceptional place to stay. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and very good value for money. It met all our needs especially as it is 100% dog friendly. Thank you.

There was nothing that we did not like. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone.

We enjoyed our stay at the Masons Arms, and would be happy to visit again.Staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms quiet, clean and well maintained with a really comfy bed. we had a good breakfast, it came on time. the evening meal was good quality pub food. the location is very picturesque, with views across pretty open countryside. Close to National trust property Montacute house.

a better wine list would have been nice., but local beers good.

Communication with the staff was very easy and they very kindly made arrangements for me arriving late. My room was immaculate and breakfast the next morning was great.

The single bed was a bit too short for me (I’m 5ft 8in) so I didn’t have the best night’s sleep. But I would definitely book again, just a double bed next time.

Lovely warm welcome. Clean and fresh. Large room with everything that was required. Great Wi-Fi for finishing the days work. Very vibrant local asset. Had whole roast sole for dinner which was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Bed was a little harder than I would prefer but that’s personal choice.

it was very homely, warm and inviting. liked the ease of parking, the accessibility to everywhere we needed to go during our stay, and staff were welcoming. the back garden looked lovely as well, wish we had had more time to enjoy it!

price was a bit steep for a Sunday night, and, while there, we saw that it was selling for £30 less than what we were paying for that same night. the ceiling fan in the bathroom was really loud, and the tv remote didn’t work. these are just tiny things i wanted to mention, but overall our stay was really enjoyable!

Super friendly pub with decent room. Made me feel very welcome from the second I walked in the door. Nice that they reserved me a table for dinner in a quiet corner and were very relaxed about when I ate, even though they were busy. Nice contrast between very traditional feeling country pub and modern room. High quality breakfast. Wasnt noisy in my room even though pub was busy.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The staff was also very helpful. We had our dog with us and they always happy to say hi and give her treats when we came for dinner or breakfast. They made sure we had everything we needed like tea and coffee..etc. Lovely scenery. They even had hot chocolate in the rooms which not many hotels do and it's the only hot drink I drink. Rooms were a nice size and beds were very comfortable. Loved the area where we can let our dog off the leash outside. The food was delicious there. We really enjoyed our breakfast and dinners there. We really enjoyed our stay there and look forward to visiting again soon.
