The family room was great, very spacious, clean and provided everything that we needed. Also, considering it was a converted attic room, there was a lot of natural light.

It was very warm in the room even with the air conditioning on but I guess with it being at the top of the house, it had probably trapped all the daytime heat. The only real issue we had was that because the hotel reception was shut on the day we stayed (Sunday), there was no staff onsite and when we had an issue with the television and called the number given to require help, no one answered the call.

The receptionist, Lewis, was very polite and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, as you would expect, although it could do with a bit of t.l.c. especially in the bathroom. I was able to park my car right outside my room. Breakfast was good, although I think that the toast was only quickly shown the toaster!

In the bathroom there was no shelf to put my toiletries, nor any hooks for my clothes. Evening time there were only bar snacks, which consisted of mainly chicken strips in various coatings, the accompanying 'salad' was put on the same baking hot plate. The bed was very creaky.

The room was lovely and clean and comfortable. It was a really good size with a nice powerful shower. It was really nice to have a selection of hot drinks, bottles of water and some biscuits in the room. The member of staff on reception was friendly and helpful. It was nice to feel so comfortable in a very reasonable priced non branded hotel. Very highly recommended, will definitely book again here next time I'm over this way.

The room was too warm and with nobody on reception I couldn't find any help. But the windows opened so was able to sort it.

Clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, working tv's and fan in rooms. Twin room had fridge and bath (double room didn't have fridge but had shower). Good range of hot drinks and bottles of still water available. Chalet style so ground floor accessible perfect for those with mobility issues. Free parking Easy self check in for arriving after 8pm Easy location to reach - and great access for Yeovil Hospital.

Would have prefered a breakfast option - but we knew before we booked.

We stayed in the chalet out the back. It was quiet here and the double glazing meant we didnt hear the party at all in the main building. Very clean and modern decor. Bar and car park on site. Not too far from town centre. About a 20 minute walk. Key drop meant leaving in the morning was easy.

The water pressure for the shower was very poor. More of a trickle. Strange since the water pressure for the bathroom tap was fine. Just be aware of this if you are in the chalet out the back. My sister and parents reported the same in their rooms, also the chalets. Car park entrance is very narrow so be careful entering and exiting the car park.

Fantastic reception and made to feel welcome. A small issue with the TV remote as it may have been taken on holiday by the previous guest, however this issue was resolved by me moving room, no fuss, straight forward. Liked the covered patio area in front of the chalet. Nice and quiet stay, plenty of parking

Shame they weren't offering dinner, however there is a fantastic fish and chip restaurant 3 mins away by car.

The full English breakfast was excellent and the girl who served us was pleasant and helpful. I had a very spacious bedroom towards the back of the hotel. One night there was a noisy party and I heard very little. The flowers and decorations were very good too. I slept well too.

The separate bathroom was ok but needed to be better designed in terms of using the space and the corner bath was a bit dated. I did use it and was able to get in and out without too much difficulty. I do have arthritic knees and would have preferred a ground floor but I don't think I mentioned that when booking so I will do that on another occasion.

The staff were all so helpful, nice and friendly. Even when we had a slightly complicated check in (we got there really late at night) they were so accommodating and nice about the whole thing. The Preston Hotel has a lot of charm and for it's exceptionally reasonable price we were very happily surprised. It has a nice little pub in it too which was lush when we got there after a long drive. Very cosy and warm and feels safe.

The rooms could do with a little updating decor wise but to be honest for the price you can't complain. My only gripe was that the bedding could be upgraded as the pillows and duvets were pretty uncomfortable. We only had about 5 hours sleep before we needed to head off again so it didn't impact us too much.

Breakfast was fantastic. Full English was cooked to order and everything was spot on. Stayed in Chalets at back of hotel which were nicely decorated, had a double and single bed, bottled water and a small balcony out the front with table and chairs. Plenty of parking. Handy for shows at Westlands which is only 5 minutes walk away. Peter Andre even stayed here when he was doing a show at Westlands.

Couldn’t fault it.

Room was nice and clean. TV was good, but the remote didn't work and once I had got undressed and into bed I din't want to get dressed again in order to go and ask for new batteries. With the room being situated away from the main hotel, there was no problem with noise, despite the hotel having a live music event that night.

The lack of power sockets close to the bed is a problem in that many hotels that don't cater for the needs to power chargers for laptops, phones, watches etc. Parking was a bit tight as there wasn't much space to manoeuvre around the car park when it became full.
