Didn’t have breakfast there were too busy.

We weren’t told over the phone that there would be scaffolding in front of the building so allowing us to park at our own risk which was annoying. There was a check in time we were running late we updated the owner this was due to traffic. Well she still hadn’t put Tea,coffee, milk or sugar in the cottage . Plus we’re dying for a cuppa after driving 7 hrs to get there.

this is a cosy cottage type property as part of a b&b complex. 2bed Cottage comes with a stove which can n the cold weather is very welcome and cosy. the owner gave lots of fuel. the cottage is basic but clean, tidy and had a relaxed feel. the location is not bad given the price, an easy bus ride takes you into the centre of York. the local pub offers a warming drink or meal.

There’s a few what feel like weirdly script rules on how to leave the cottage, but I sort of get it. The major issue is noise, as the 2bed is adjacent to another property, the walls are thin and we had a couple of lads staying there who partied all night outside. But to be honest, we always get on with stuff so not so bad.

It’s a very nice place to stay. It has a great location being just outside of York. It’s close enough to be in the Center within 20/30mins of travel yet in a quite village and close to other pretty villages to visit. The cottage has a lovely real fire which is beautiful and relaxing. It has a cute little kitchen, lovely bedroom with bathroom. Perfect place to stay for anyone visiting York or surrounding areas.

No heater in the bathroom so was cold in there and heating is preset and first night night was cold but kindly the owners came to see us the next day and they put it up for us on their phone. Was lovely then.

The wood burner lit in the sitting room was very welcoming and Lynn was helpful with our arrival time and gave us milk and tea. The beds were comfortable and the village so convenient and quiet.

I didn't like the fact that there wasn't any tea/coffee etc and nothing other than liquid soap in the bathroom. I also didn't like the fact that we were asked to disinfect toilet/spray shower cleaner before departure and clean anything we touched. I always try to leave places I stay in good order but of course the host has to clean before the arrival of the next guest!

Situated in a lovely village the cottage was small but adequate for our weekend stay. It had everything we needed. The owners were friendly and helpful in giving us local information. Reasonably priced.

I usually like to sleep in complete darkness but the 2 skylights let in the light very early in. In the main b&b my friend was quite wary of climbing the metal spiral staircase to get to her room.

We didn’t have breakfast at the property so can’t comment on that. Lovely people that run the b&b - very accommodating especially as we got stuck in traffic and didn’t arrive until after check in time! The whole house is lovely, very cosy and room was just what we needed! Only 10 minute drive from York City centre and a small village pub down the road, which we visited for a pint when we arrived. The communal lounge/dining area was cosy and open at all times, with sky and WiFi available.

Unfortunately there was something wrong with the shower (kept falling off bar) and seemed as though temp switch had been connected wrong. The shower door had also come off the runner meaning it didn’t close fully - this didn’t bother us at all and when I mentioned to the b&b owner he said the new shower & door was to be fitted next week. The floor in the bedroom was creaky in places but to be expected in an older building. Personally I would advise on the listing that pets are kept in the home (was an unexpected surprise for us as we love animals) but some may not or have allergies.

The holiday cottage was lovely and cosy, like home from home. Good location for our short stay.

The only thing I can comment here would be that the previous occupant hadn't cleaned out the air fryer or the oven as there was food debris inside the air fryer and the bottom of the oven door when we opened it. We didn't use either of them due to only staying a short while but as the owner has notices up around the cottage to clean after your stay, the previous occupant obviously did not take any notice.

We loved the quiet location and the self contained cottage itself. Bed was so comfortable after we’d done lots of walking. Loved the log burner fire. Very comfortable stay. Friendly owners. Handy to get into York to join our party of friends. Nice setting with the church. Wish we had more time to explore the village. Another time! Will definitely return.

Parking outside wasn’t possible especially when coming back a bit later than other guests. We had to park over the opposite side of the road- not a biggie though. The words clean me were noticed on the cooker hood ( not written in the dust by us but just to make the owners aware). Photos didn’t do the location justice on Booking.com it was gorgeous

The cottages were stunning, the room was beautiful, as were all the areas we saw , a spiral staircase to the upper floor was like something out of a time capsule, the host was an absolute pleasure to chat with and very informative when asked about anything, definitely going to visit again 😀

The only thing I didn't like was I didn't book for longer 🙃
