Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center

Great location, nice view of the river… the staff were all nice and welcoming, they allowed us to check-in a little early… the room was pretty, there were plenty of USB ports for electronics…

The AC in our room didn’t work well… it was hot all night long, beds are hard as a rock, there were no tissues in the tissue box, no coffee for the coffee maker, only one large bath towel (there were 2 more towels but they were tiny, not much bigger than the hand towels), no fridge or microwave, and self parking in the parking garage was $20.70 (which it does mention in the info when you book) but we only stayed one night and 24hr parking in the same parking garage is only $18. So I don’t understand why the hotel charges more than the standard rate. It makes sense if you’re staying more than one night, but doesn’t make sense if you’re only there for a one night visit.

We loved the hotel and the House restaurant.

The staff may need help communicating across cultural boundaries. If you do not like a culture of people, you must fake it and smile anyway.

Really nice Lobby with a lot of amenities. There are a lot of spaces in the lobby where you can meet and spend time with people. The indoor and outdoor bars were both very nice. My family and I had a very nice stay.

The room seem to be a little noisy with street noise.

The location of the hotel was awesome - situated right down town near the River, plenty of restaurants and bars. In the bar, the bartender came over to ask about a drink she had made - offered to make my next one “smoked” which was awesome... great vibe throughout the hotel, very pretty, Very hospitable staff.

Our room smelled like an ash tray, as if someone had smoked in it previously and full cleanup wasn’t done. There were spots on our coverlet... walking to our room from the parking garage was a chore, 2 different elevators were needed. The restaurant was very nice, but the waiter took our order and brought me something different instead - it tasted good but was not the item that I had clearly pointed to on the menu and asked for. No attempt was made to make it right. Finally the AC - our thermostat said 70 but it felt 75. I had to decrease it to 65 and with only one little 6x10 vent feeding the room, it didn’t really feel cool until morning - so we just slept in the sheets with no cover.

Everything was truly remarkable. The facility is top notch. It is a beautiful hotel. I was truly impressed with the security, ,especially the fact that you had to use your room key to access the elevator.

The Thursday evening music and the tribute to the 70s by the staff. This experience is definitely worth the stay all by itself. we absolutely loved it. Next trip will certainly include a Thursday night to get this treat. The staff especially Ken is the greatest host ever.

It was all great

The wonderful staff, the cleanliness and amenities. We stay here several times a year, normally and have always enjoyed our stay. This last time we met some new people in the little bar with live music and had a great time! Since we are fully vaccinated, we decided it was time to get out and have some fun.

Always clean and well maintained. Great property in an area that is fun to walk around and explore.

The breakfast was good.It even offered Conecuh Sausage which is made in my hometown of Evergreen, Alabama. But I would like to make a suggestion that the hotel offer turkey or beef sausage for those of us that don't eat pork.

There was no turkey or beef sausage offered for breakfast, only pork.

I liked the large window and the view of the Alabama River. The room was very nice and comfortable, I just needed more light. One lamp didn't work. Overall, the hotel is very swanky and stylish.

I didn't like being sat outside of the House Restaurant, where I made reservations for Mother's Day Brunch. Our food didn't stay warm for long because it was so windy.

it’s okay but the fact that I was denied access to the spa area for suna after paying so much for a reason was disappointing, they asked me to pay for day pass 😴
