Grand Highland Hotel

Old hotel with a lot of character conveniently located on Whiskey Row and across the street from the courthouse. The room was comfortable and clean. While the leaky claw foot shower was an annoyance, management quickly switched us to another room. The customer service was appreciated. There was the Back Alley Wine Bar, a fun place down the back alley from the hotel as was Limoncello, a nice little pizzeria.

No elevator and the stairs, especially the back stairs, are very steep. No fun carrying bags up and down those stairs.

The bed was comfortable and the room was well insulated from the weather. We did not need to turn on the heater at all. The water for the shower was 'insta' hot, just a couple of seconds after turning on the water and it was excellent.

The stairs up to the rooms were long but, not much can be done about that.

Love the location. Love how easily accessible it is to the parking deck. Love the decor, the vibe, & the old timey bathroom with the claw foot tub. The complimentary ear plugs were also a very nice touch.

-3/4 for comfort because the bed was a little too soft for me. -Also, there was no ice available during our stay.

Great location on Whiskey Row. Comfortable bed. Solid continental breakfast with plenty of choices delivered to room. Coffee maker in room. Good recommendations for dinner. Helpful staff.

Lighting in room was dim. Small window with view of roof from our room (Holiday Room). There isn't an elevator, but that really didn't matter to us.

Although small, the ambience of the room was very nice. For breakfast, we each had a cup of coffee which was good. My wife had a bagel, which she liked. It was blueberry with butter and raspberry preserves. She also enjoyed the orange juice, although it could have been a bit larger.

For breakfast, unfortunately the pastries they gave us were bite size. Literally. We each had two. If they had of been of normal size, it would have made all the difference. My wife had the bagel, so that helped - but I was still hungry. It just wasn't what I expected. The shower/tub was great with the exception that the water came out of the shower head so hard that it stung my head. Otherwise, it was very nice.

Staff is exceptionally friendly. The themed rooms are tiny but nice- lots of exposed brick and interesting art.

Would like it better if a hot breakfast was served. We are eggs and bacon kind of people. Yogurt and pastries just are nor enough.

Great location. Right in the center of everything. Enjoyed the history of the building. Was nice to be able to walk out of building to visit restaurants, bars, and shopping.

Loud cars doing burnouts all night long.

Across street from wonderful courthouse Christmas lights. Nice welcome, room nice, on small size but lots of nice little details. Bed very comfortable room very quiet high pressure hot water in tub/shower. Great breakfast we ordered night before delivered to room when scheduled was included in room rate.

Stairs no elevator

It was great to stay in an Historic building. Really well done decor and I loved the claw foot tub. Excellent amenities. Comfortable bed. Very clean! I’ll be back!

Can’t think of anything I didn’t like.

the staff was wonderful, caring, and helpful. we loved the entire feel of the hotel, the history, and the location.

the air conditioner was too difficult to figure out how to operate, the room got hot each time we took a shower.
