This is a truly historic hotel. The interior of the hotel, the decoration, the furniture, the ceiling, the chandelier, the small details like the phone booth & paintings, all these wonderful things take you back in history & make you travel back to remember maybe beautiful memories of the past The hotel is clean & tidy. The beds are so comfy & the location is just great

The only issue we had was the Wi Fi in our room. For most of our stay we didn't have it in our room & were able to connect while in the lobby area. The signal inside some rooms seems very weak.

From the moment I stepped in I loved this hotel. I want to move to Eureka just to be closer to it. I would love to attend or officiate a wedding here. I would love to have a big holiday party here. It was reminiscent of The Overlook hotel in the movie The Shining in the best, campy way. The lobby, hallway, and my room were all clean and tidy. The bathroom had a big, modern, tub that my 6'2" frame could have fit into. The single pane glass windows made it a little drafty, but there was an electric heater in my room and I found it to be quite comfortable. The location is great and I was able to quickly walk to the Old Town for a little shopping and dinner.

Breakfast included was disappointing. Maybe COVID has changed how and what they serve, but I would have enjoyed more hot options. It wasn't anything more special than going to any of the chain hotel/motels along the highway. With such character throughout the property, a dining experience that matched would have been nice. I was actually surprised and a bit disappointed that there wasn't a restaurant on the property. They have the space, maybe they just need the business.

The Inn met all of our needs. AC, hot water, wifi, parking, close to good restaurant. But my favorite part was the history of the place and all the paintings of the well known people who stayed there, like Churchill, Reagan. Highly recommended for this alone.

The free breakfast was adequate for me — a very basic pastries, cereal, yogurt etc. But some people might be used to a bit more. The staff let us know the night before and suggested a place for those who want more. But we were headed out hiking and just preferred the simple breakfast as it was.

The location is great. It's a beautiful old building had has been very well maintained. Our room was very comfortable. We took advantage of the lounge upon returning from dinner. It was a very nice atmosphere. Earlier we had heard piano music coming from the lounge. I left an item behind and when I contacted the hotel staff they were very helpful in telling me what to do to get it back. I received my item the first chance I could have through the mail.

There was nothing we didn't like.

it is a very special time-honoured hotel not only but especially at christmas with extraordinary friendly staff. the property looks like out of a movie, has also served as a set itself and has hosted all sorts of celebrities over the years. endless corridors lead to older but clean rooms. we traveled there in december so the prices were good accordingly. unfortunately the restaurant was closed but there was a small but nice breakfast in an extra room. everything else was within walking distance and Eureka itself is worth a trip. we booked very spontaneously and were able to extend very flexibly.

This hotel was beautiful and really convenient from the highway. There was additional parking so we didn't have to park on the street, which was nice. Breakfast in the morning was simple but pretty good. The old-fashioned donuts were definitely the highlight. Loved the old-style furniture and styling. The bed was comfortable and our room was quiet.

There was a problem with the elevator while we were there, but the staff was aware of the problem and actively working to fix it (we just left before that happened).

Breakfast was fantastic. House design is beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. A delightful property!

A lav counter would have been easier to use in the bathroom than the wall hung lavatory and separate table. Exterior lighting near the bedroom windows shined into the rooms. Maybe I missed the switch to turn them off. This is not important, but the history of the house in the binder is disjointed and otherwise poorly edited.

Lovely hotel, great room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Redwood lounge was gorgeous.

There was no restaurant at the hotel, which would have been nice but could live without! I think you needed to boil your own eggs for breakfast as there was no one in the breakfast room, but the eggs were in the fridge! Not a complaint!

I wish I had known of this place since Ive traveled through eureka twice a year for decades. Always ending up with a crappy motel or expensive over priced fancy place. This is so beautiful and great amenities for the cheaper price, like a nice pool and massive, stunning lobby. Within a minute walk to the main downtown. We ended up staying two nights there. The staff were great too.

Can’t think of anything

The public elevator was broken down and unable to repair for entire stay. Able to use the freight elevator, but only with baggage. First floor booked completely and one of group had a knee injury. Still not allowed to use freight. Also, viewed a very elderly man struggling with stairs and he mad a comment to me.

Historic and beautiful. Lots of wooden historic detail, like phone booths and mail slot. Courtyard as gorgeous too.
