Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel

Great location, close to marina and a few minutes drive to and from the airport. Parking was free, which was great. Breakfast items offered were good to get us started for a day of sightseeing. Housekeeping came to make up the room every day. No comments on the pool as we didn't use it.

The pillows were uncomfortable. Harbor view room on the 3rd floor was obstructed by restaurants and buildings across the street. Ask for a higher floor if you want to enjoy the view. 6th floor is the highest floor. Harbor view rooms also face the main street which is noisy if you're a light sleeper. The light outside the balcony is always on when it's dark out. The curtains let in light along the edges of the wall, so the room is not completely dark if that's what you need for sleep.

When we first checked in we were given an extremely small room which wasn’t going to work for two. I asked for another room which after a long search we were given a larger room at no extra cost. The staff friendly at all times. Breakfast set up so nicely and free parking. The view of the harbor and the restaurants at the harbor added to our experience. Location perfect and easy to get around. Oh, the pool so welcoming!

I feel better covers for beds and thicker towels.

the property has a great location. the front desk staff (Steve?? helped us the most) were incredibly nice and had great recommendations and very helpful. the beds were comfortable and the breakfast had really great food and selection, I would recommend eating by the pool each morning to start the day of right.

the building itself is slightly outdated but in no way affected our stay.

- Free parking at hotel - Clean room , with silent A/C ,but with bad lighting as in every US motel/hotel - Pool was properly maintained. - Breakfast was small but sufficient: eggs , bacon ,cereal , bread , cake ,coffee ,juice... - Good location, restaurants nearby and away from the busy centre but not far .

- They ask non US nationals for a copy of their passport . That they need it for verification is normal , but making a copy and keeping it is not making you feel secure : ID theft etc. When asked why a copy , no answer was given by the staff.

The location was great. Had a view of the harbor and naval base to see the planes and boats, which my husband and kids loved. Close to restaurants. Breakfast was great!

It could use a few updates like paint and maybe upgrading doors and sliders to the balcony, but other than that, the rooms were great for the value.

We actually stayed here three different nights in the past three weeks, all three times while flying out of the San Diego airport. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. Kudos especially to Steve, who was so accommodating and kind. The hot breakfasts were great and the parking very convenient and free! We used the outdoor pool, hot tub and small fitness center, all of which were fine. This is not a five star hotel when you think of “five star hotels” like a Ritz Carlton. But it is five star when it comes to location, staff and value for the money paid. Our room on the top floor had a view of the harbor & a small balcony. We could walk across the street to a local brewery and several restaurants. We will continue to stay here when our plans include an early morning airport departure or a late night arrival.

Staff are great. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh.

The motel has had the same decor for years and is showing some signs of being tired. Nothing some pain and bedding can't fix.

breakfast - satisfying, expecting more variety of healthy choices, overall ok, ladies in charge of breakfast are very hard working, very friendly. room - nice, beautiful view, should be clean up better ( it depends on cleaning ladies), missing a small table for a balcony and a soap dish by sink in the bathroom. Otherwise bathroom was very clean, spacious with soft and fluffy towels. costumer service - very friendly and helpful. pool - very nice, should be clean up every day especially after breakfast. location - cannot be better. Overall - 4 stars.

Would be nice to have a small table for balcony, a dish soap by the sink in the bathroom, more info about location of ice and snack machines, or how to make a local phone call from room phone....a map of SD.

The staff was amazingly friendly and recommended a restaurant where the food was great! The breakfast served was good as well which is not often you can find somewhere like that. I like that the room was quiet until we needed to turn on the heater.

The bathroom smelled horrible like urine. The faucet was very hard to turn on and the shower curtain was too short for the tub so the floor got soaking wet and I believe that may be why the smell in the bathroom. Also, the toilet seat was very loose. The heater in the room was SO loud when it would shut off it woke me up several times. Not enough room in the bfast dining.

Reading some of the reviews made us wary of staying here, but we booked and thought wth! We arrived a couple of hours early, but the reception got us a room within 30 mins, well done guys!! The room was huge and clean, totally contradicting previous reviews. Great location near the harbour and Marina, with its bars and restaurants. For me, it was the view towards the naval base and all the activity both on and offshore (no worries about fast jet noises, bring it on!!) We had a 4th floor sea view room and loved the view. All the facilities in the room were top notch for BW, Breakfast started off as a vegetarian feast, but improved over the period there, We had stayed at a few BW resorts on this trip, and this ranked one of the top 2 resorts. We love San Diego as a city trip. Is close to the airport but didn't hear too many take offs. Easy bus ride into the City Centre from this resort for just $2.50 each way pp. Would stay and recommend here to anybody.

The signage for the car park could have been better, as we had a RAM truck and "dived" into, what we thought was, the car park entrance. But stopped as we were just about to scrape the roof. Could see other Pick-ups in the car park, so there must have been some way of getting in. Hint/Tip for anybody - go to the far end of the resort for a larger entrance to both upper and lower CP levels. Rant over!!
