Great location in La Jolla - very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Parking was easy to come by. The room had a peek-a-boo view of the ocean from the terrace, which was nice. And the room was over an alley way, so it was quiet with no thru-traffic or pedestrian noise.

Had in-room dining for breakfast, but was very disappointed. The food was not of great quality, and definitely not worth the fee! Had it the first morning, and opted out for the second. Would recommend you take in one of the nearby local cafes or restaurants for your breakfast fix.

You will love this hotel!!! Fantastic, welcoming, intelligent staff!!! They set the mood for my two day stay here! They made me feel so welcome and at home.....Inn by the Sea La Jolla is now officially my HOME away from HOME!!!! Thank you to all of the staff....reception and the cleaning staff who were also so professional and friendly!!! All the staff was exceptional!!! The room was fabulous.....I had a view of the ocean from my balcony.....I loved the super beautiful and clean pool....the lobby furniture was beautiful....looking like a beachy place and yet elegant like La Jolla....parking was also excellent! One of the most memorable stays that I have had in a hotel....EVER!!!!! Thank you so much Inn by the Sea La Jolla!!!!!

Everything was perfection!!!!

The property is in a perfect location. Walking distance to tons of shops, restaurants and the beach. We visit La Jolla quarterly and we take an Uber in and never need a vehicle while staying here. The property is clean and the staff is so friendly and readily available. There are water refill stations on every floor, an amazing selection of food/snacks in 4 modern vending machines, free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in a cute little room off of the pool area. This place is so family friendly but it is also a nice relaxing place for couples.

There’s nothing I don’t like

The location was PERFECT! We will 100% be back. We could walk to all the coves and beaches, a ton of amazing restaurants, breakfast and coffee spots, cute shops... It was perfect. We absolutely adore la Jolla and the village. Also 30 minute drive to the San Diego zoo, without having to stay in the busy heart of the city. All of the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating.

Small things in the room. Cosmetic things in the room (ex: the cabinet door that the fridge was behind was water damaged), the fridge never got cold, and small cleanliness things (hair on the shower wall).

Unpretentious property. Simple but fantastic. Extremely comfortable and generously sized room. Bed was oversized and very comfortable. The pool was amazing. Adjacent to the pool is a sweet little guest lounge with complimentary coffee and hot drinks as well as microwaves etc. Central location for the La Jolla area.

We were exceptionally happy with our stay. Only negative was that the advertised patio view was located immediately adjacent to the down ramp for the car park and therefore was highly exposed and noisy

The Inn was located within walking distance to the beach and a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. Parking was ample as they have parking in front of the Inn, behind the Inn and a parking garage. Our room was by the pool with a little patio. There was coffee available in the room but they also provided a 24 hour guest lounge that has coffee, hot water, tea, cocoa and cream and sugar. There are vending machines and a microwave also available. There are tables and a couch with a large flat screen TV. The pool area had couches, chairs, tables, and lounges. Pool towels were always available. Their house keeping staff were excellent. They were constantly doing laundry to make sure their guests had ample towels. There was also a guest laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers which we took advantage of since we stayed for 6 nights.

We had a leak in our bathroom that soaked the carpet in front of the bathroom sink. When I discovered it maintanance did come and check it out. He placed towels on our floor. Would have liked to been informed if it was fixed or at least move us to a different room.

I enjoyed the staff, pool, room was adequate but entire hotel needs updating. What you pay for with this hotel is location. The location to everything including the beach is excellent.

Water pressure in bathroom runs hot and cold off and on. Perhaps need to adjust pressure or get new water heater. They need to clean rooms more often. I was there 10 days and room was cleaned only once. The rest of time I picked up my own supplies. Found that off due to pricing (it’s not cheap to stay there!)

It was very pleasant and easy going. Staff was very friendly, helpful and responsive. The kids had a blast in the pool and there even was a beach ball there to play with. Location is great - we walked to get breakfast goodies and dinner everyday! And easy to walk to the Well maintained.

Could use a toaster in the guest lounge and a small garbage next to the toilet to toss out female necessities.

it’s almost been a great property. I’ve been staying there for years.

The price was 150% higher than last year the same time for the exact same experience, and it’s not even the summer season yet. That’s pretty insane consumer-wise and though I usually stay two or three times a year, I won’t be returning. Since very few places ever reduce their prices in this kind of situation, I suspect it will be the end of my visits to Inn at the Sea.

If you are looking for a good location that’s quiet, clean and family friendly, this is the perfect place. We Ubered from the airport and never needed transportation from the village. Everything you could want or need is walking distance- the beach, restaurants, coffee, grocery store etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and the lobby is beautiful. This is our new favorite spot.
