5/27/23 Most bad reviews I'm guessing are probably because of the wrong expectation. This is a 2-star rated hotel which is known to be in a bad area, and luckily there is parking on a first come first served basis (unlike other hotels more expensive and have no parking). If you expect to get a 4 or 5 star hotel out of a 2-star hotel, or if you didn't read all the upfront information available as you are booking online, then its not on the hotel for your lack of information. Other reviews already indicated the bigger part of the hotel hallways had an old carpet or some kind of smell so don't expect too much for the economical price, think budget Circus Circus Hotel. I think this is a family operated business and I'm very happy to say they are Indian even though I'm Asian, I'm very close to the people and their culture. Checked in just before 3pm, meeting a very nice young lady Miss Nina who was very nice and helpful. Much to my surprise, she upgraded us on to what I think was the newer or if not updated rooms by the pool. Everything is very nice, the right water pressure and temperature, great AC, and cleanliness of the room/bathroom. The only thing probably missing would be a small fridge and or microwave which I wouldn't mind paying an extra $25 for a 2 night-stay if they had that. Also the pool was closed, but everything was perfect, even when I checked out the following morning. There were so many bad reviews on Granddad, yet he was such a very nice man. Again please check your attitude and read all the available information including the good and honest reviews before checking-in. I highly recommend this hotel and will be checking-in again if ever I make it back to SanFran. Check your 5 star expectation back to reality of 2-star, also leave your attitude outside the property before checking in.

A great location near restaurants, shops right on Lombard. The Staff is great, helpful and friendly. The area is not too bad and the locked gate to enter the hotel makes it feel secure. There is a limited number of parking on site 6 spots or so, so parking offsite may be necessary. A great value for SF.

No designated smoking area, so there is absolutely nowhere to smoke on the property. Cameras insure compliance.

I will come back here anytime. I like the location. Some things that are a little uncomfortable at the start are worth the effort to get a place in SF for this price. You check in from the street through a bullet proof window. Once you get into the building next door to check in, go through a dingy set of stairs, you enter a large well laid out room. My corner room had 8 windows, 6 in bays. It seems that these rooms used to be studio apartments, my room was around 500 SQ FT. It was much better than i expexcted. One block north has lots of everything you need.

No stairs and four stories. Normal for SF, but plan ahead. No fridge or microwave, but did not really need one. Limited parking, so i made sure i checked in early in the day. Window were real dirty, but salt air will do that.

The room was very nice, with a nice view over SF and the golden gate bridge. The room was very clean and the housekeeping was good.

The toilet was very loose and the water was constantly flowing into the toilet in a small stream making noise. Not a big deal and not a lot of water but you could fix that for water saving reasons.

Location is good. People at the check in are very nice and helpful. Safe place. I am satisfied because for once,l could stay in a hotel in San Francisco at a decent price. The competitors should think about this strategy. l will come back !!

It would be nice if we could have a coffee in the morning. At least . Just a coffee.. the room l had was overlooking the main road and l think the Windows were lacking insulation.. l had other rooms in the past and that was great. So not bad!

The location was good to have parking and to get on the highway. The room was a good size.

You can hear people above and below walking and stomping. There was no access to the pool because it was closed, there was mold in the bathroom and outside windows, and there were no elevators.

Nice and quiet. Great staff

Just the people staying next door to us for one night was so loud running around after each other drunk, shouting and locking each other out of the apartment and then banging on the front door to get back in. Weirdos

We had a great, big room on 4th floor, with a view of Golden Gate Bridge! We liked it so much we stayed one extra night. Also, the location of this hotel is very good, nice neighborhood with restaurants, bus stop right in front of the hotel. I highly recommend and would stay there again.

Small, budget room. Very comfortable and clean. Bed was great and the bathroom was big, clean and well stocked. Location was perfect. Close to the venue for show I was attending and close to some lovely locations (Ghiradelli, Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach)

I was satisfied overall. No real complaints. Could have used a working hairdryer, but it wasn't a make or break. All in all, it was a good room for the price. Affordable, comfortable and convenient.

Our room had been recently remodeled and upgraded. There was a mini kitchen with fridge and microwave. New tile, rug, shower remodel - wonderful colors and very peaceful.

There was not much of a view.
