loved the character. The murals. The plants. The garage. The courtyard. It was so awesome. and I love that it is pet friendly. Saw several people had brought their dogs with them.

only minor complaint was since it is a pedestal sink. There was no counter space in the bathroom. So a little stand or a shelf would be awesome in there just to set your toiletries on.

We have stayed here several times. It’s our favorite- charming, affordable, great location. Best prices I’ve found in SF for bringing your dog! Free parking. (Small to med cars only can fit)

It’s a very old charming place so things need repair more often. We’ve had a few issues with things in our room times but doesn’t stop us from staying again. Be warned you must have a smaller car to park in garages as they are tight fit.

carpet in room could be updated to something like waterproof Vinyl for cleaning and pets and odors. the quaintness is apparent of its appeal but updating the floors would be great 😊

Location is great. We ended up walking (more than we expected) to restaurants and around the Palace of Fine Arts. The included parking spaces were a bonus. The room was nice, basic and clean. I liked that the windows opened for fresh air. The blooming flowers and plants were beautiful along with the painted vines and details; made you feel like you were on vacation!

The "neighbors" stomping up and down the stairs, then talking really loud right outside of our door and letting their door bang shut instead of actually closing the door with the handle. People are just clueless; oblivious that there are three doors at the top of the stairs and there might be people staying in the other rooms. Obviously not the fault of the property. My only suggestion is for the front desk staff to inform everyone who checks-in that there are other guests next to them and to please be mindful of voices and being loud. Our particular room had one chair, in place of a nightstand, so you had to sit on the bed whenever you wanted to sit, the bed is high so it wasn't ideal. Also, the mattress was a little on the soft side for our liking, but we got a good night's rest.

This is a lovely and colourful motel with character in the layout, decor and flowers, both real and painted. For us, the location was perfect; a short walk to the Marina, through pretty Presidio, for wonderful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatrez, and access to parks and piers. Brendan was the member of staff we intereacted with most; welcoming, friendly and fun and a good example of how an individual can add so much to a place!

We enjoyed our stay, but some minor points: The heating clanged very loudly when it came on (we apparently couldn't figure out how to turn off!), the garages are tight for modern cars and limited in number, but fantastic to have! The lay-out means you face other guests' rooms, but that's what the curtains are for :)

It was simply gorgeous there. The quaint apartment style motel had everything we needed. The courtyard had such beautiful plants, flowers and building details. The apartment had a comfortable bed, pillows and linen. The bathroom had a beautiful shower complete with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and soap, excellent lighting and exhaust fan. The kitchen space was a bit tight, but had everything needed for us to cook meals. Good TV, adequate wifi. Parking garages, central location, easy to use #28 bus to Fisherman's wharf. Extremely friendly staff. A real gem

The location was great! It was walking distance to the Palace of Arts, the Lombard gate of the Presidio, Walgreens, and great food. There are bus stops a block away that take you anywhere you want to go. The flowers are outstanding! Not only do they look beautiful, but they smell even better! The locked garages for parking gave us peace of mind.

We stayed in two rooms. Both were great! My only suggestions are to put a full length mirror in 26A and to empty the garbage. We stayed in our second room for 5 nights, and the garbage was never emptied. We were given more toilet paper and towels when we asked. Thank you!

Super cute motel in the Marina district, super close to great restaurants and coffee places. When we arrived we were greeted super friendly and got great tipps for our stay (restaurant options, places to go, best picture spots of the Golden Gate Bridge). We felt very safe in the district and the garage was perfect for our car (there are a lot of car break ins in San Francisco so a garage is the best option). The room was so spacious, comfy and cute, every thing was clean, big bathroom and kitchen that had everything we needed. Even though our room was to the street, it was quiet at night as the road wasn’t busy anymore. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back when we’re in San Francisco again!

Nothing, we honestly loved our stay at the Marina Motel.

Marina motel is located in a nice neighborhood which is right next to Golden Gate Park and Marina which is not as chaotic as in the central area of SFO. Many restaurants nearby. Rooms are cute and clean although quite small. But it is in the center of SFO we cannot ask for more. Parking was very convenient. It is the main reason we chose this place so we did not worry about parking in SFO and in the meanwhile we can use our car to drive around the city. Staff was helpful, too. I simply reminded the reception the drainage was a bit stuck and they could fix it after we check-out. But they immediately sent someone to fix it. Overall, the motel seems with quite some history but the owner and staff keep it in a very good condition. I think it is the cutest motel ever! Highly recommend it to travelers in town with cars.

Great location from which to explore the Marina District, which had many great restaurants, including cafes and diners. Liked the quiet room at the back of the property. The reception staff were helpful and professional. Room, kitchen and bathroom were clean, but old facilities, however they seemed to be in better condition than the other motels in the district. Easy access to the city via the nearby bus route, and close to a great wash & fold laundry.

Wished there had been an on-site laundry but did find a good wash & fold laundry in the same road as this motel. During the rain, we had ants invade the kitchen unfortunately. Note there are steep stairs to get up to the rooms.
