Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael Marin County

Everything went well. I do not have one complaint. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was a nice size, it was clean, the bed was comfortable, it had a nice view of the mountains. The bathroom was clean, we had plenty of towels, the water pressure was nice with two options for either a jet spray or regular. The bathroom was also a nice size and had the usual toiletries available. There was plenty of parking. The lobby and other areas of the hotel were clean.

There was nothing that we didn't like. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Location, clean and comfortable.

Did not include breakfast and it was shown as having breakfast listed on the hotel choices in booking.con. I specifically wanted to have breakfast included for my family and found out when they went to get it in the morning it was NOT included! Very sneaky as there was a breakfast banner over the hotel listing which has in the past always meant includes breakfast yet for this hotel it was not included but available for an extra $24 per person. I guess I have learned my lesson and will be more careful in the future. Sad because I book with booking.com a lot and never have come across such a thing! Price was too much for not including a breakfast, I think.

The breakfast was amazing. Everything you could ask for including smoked salmon with bagels and steaming hot pans of oatmeal and cream of wheat, not to mention the eggs and french toast and the made to order omeletes. We were able to sit outside by the pool to eat dinner and and have drinks. The service was attentive. There was coffee in the lobby in the morning which you don't often see. Our room was clean but a bit dark. I asked for extra towels and they brought them immediately.

The handicapped door openers did not work. This is a serious issue because a handicapped person cannot get out if they don't work. Staff were alerted to the problem. There was a problem with yellow jackets which is common at this time of year. We wanted to eat outside for breakfast but could not because of the yellow jackets. They did have a yellow jacket trap but it was not completely successful.

We stay here every time we are in town, I love that you can walk down the hill and get breakfast easily. Lots of places to eat in the strip mall (great find).

The only bummer was the pool was broken and it is one of the reasons we stay there. It would have been nice to be offered a free glass of wine or some other perk to help offset the inconvenience. It was 90 that weekend so we were bummed. They told us of a sister hotel with a pool but it was an indoor pool, that defeats the purpose of being in California for the Weekend.

The staff was amazing from the front end to the cleaning crew. Everyone made me feel like family. this hotel is definitely high in the trust worthy aspect - I forgot my laptop in the lobby charging while I was at the restaurant and John the front end manager safely stored it away until I came looking. Absolutely highly recommending this hotel whenever you stay in this area this is the go to! Thank you also Mike for being a super General Manager and answering all of my questions and attending all of my needs.

The fact that’s I didn’t stay longer. there was absolutely nothing wrong with this property.

I liked the cleaning staff. Super nice ladies. they do really nice work Cleaning. And super honest. Sonis, the manager was fabulous. I left several pieces of antique, silver turquoise, Navajo, bracelets, ring, and very important to my family. She had it sent to me, probably with the tracking number. I received it safely.

 Well, they are remodeling in stages. But for example, fix up the inside of the elevators. Trashed.

Traveling to meet with various business clients in the Mill Valley, San Rafael and Oakland area. Location perfect with ~30 minutes drives time of less. Hotel facilities excellent for hosting client meetings (informal) in bar and restaurant. Traveling with my doggie, Kimmy, and found the facility to her liking with ample space to walk about the hotel grounds. Highly recommend and Kimmy gives two paws!!!

Most of my dissappointments were possibly pandemic related redutction in services such as bar not open until 4 pm, and restaurant area only open for breakfast - because of my allergies, the only menu items I could eat were the olives (out of stock) and crudités (minus the dip which was not vegan). So when I brought in "take out", I wanted to eat at a regular table, and order a drink, which was only available in the bar area, but I wasn't allowed to bring outside food in. So, I ended up eating in my room (insert sad face here). In the big picture - I was very happy to have a comfortable, warm, quiet place to rest.

Contemporary design including color choices and it appears to be a newer hotel. Hot buffet breakfast was unexpected and outstanding. The breakfast staff were available and interested that I enjoyed the meal. The hotel is away from any traffic noise and is perched on a hill giving it a gracious feel. The breakfast coffee was excellent and the table arrangement was tidy and clean. The common areas were spacious. Bar and restaurant had a simple and coordinated layout.

First night, I had to tell the front desk to have the security guard close the pool at the curfew hour (I heard adult voices only). The pool finally cleared out in about half an hour. I should not have to do this - the guard should give a 15 minute warning and then come back at curfew to be sure the pool area has cleared. The fitness room needs some mats. I was surprised to see more than a few families with children since I assumed that this was a business hotel, but it was a holiday weekend.

The welcoming Fire Place at the reception and more cosy lounges available around the hotel. Lots of parking space available and the easily available bell cart. Room was clean with great tv choices including Netflix (own account)! Cookies and warm Apple Cider Tea is perfect when returning back to this hotel during the cold winter. Laundry room have different payment option besides depending on quarters. (Many places are out of change during our vacation.)

I am still waiting for the deposits to be returned to my account. All hotels almost immediately return except for Four Points. They cost the most out of my whole 2 weeks of vacation. Had to go back to Marriott to have this sort out?! The equipments to the gym can be better.
