In a great location where Chinatown and Little Italy meets. Easy walk to either neighborhoods and plenty of bus stops to take you all over the city. For the price it was very comfortable. Some of the shared bathrooms had separate shower areas which was nice if you only needed to use it. I liked that there was a fridge to store my drinks/ snacks.

Room got somewhat hot during the day and there was no fan or ac. (Honestly not a big deal since I was out most of the day). Left the window open afterwards and was fine. The hotel has a weird damp smell. Some dicey characters in and around the area. As a solo female traveler, I wouldn't want to walk around late at night in the area to be honest.

Most things: First the location. I came from Bonaire and did not know San Francisco at all. I was looking for something not expensive, relatively close to Oracle Park where I went to see Dead and Company. Although the map fooled me a little and it was a little further, the hotel as in a great part of town that we enjoyed tremendously. Also the geneal layout and teh friendly people were a nice bonus

Being 190 cm (say, 6 foot 4), the beds were on the short side, but lying diagonally in a bed for 2 people worked.

The Wifi was good and easy to access. The room was super clean. The shared bathroom was in very good shape for most of the day. I liked that there was never a problem using the bathroom because of the access to other bathrooms. Towels provided were clean and fairly thick. If anyone wonders whether this place will be okay, wonder no more. It was fine. The place next door made good fresh breakfast sandwiches and nice strong coffee. Location was great for my purposes.

The room is nicely furnished: new sink, microwave and refrigerator. The building and facilities are cleaned well and regularly. Good on-site laundry. Staff if friendly and helpful. Central location. Many restaurants nearby. Good value for a budget traveler.

Rooms are very small, most without a view. Bathrooms are shared. No phone in room. No kitchen. Central location can be noisy, sometimes late. Television is older model, with poor reception. Wi-Fi occasionally spotty.

Great old building in North Beach. The front desk woman awesome, helpful and cool when I checked in. Newly remodeled room tastefully done with cool floors. Lot's of room with a desk fridge & microwave. The bed & bedding very comfortable -. Only negative is a neighbor issue - Man _& woman talking s..t night & day about people's personal business. Other than that all's cool.

Neighbor issue

The location is fantastic. They care about their rooms and keep up with the maintenance. The thing that would put them at a ten is if they started offering free coffee in the morning. Even better if they started doing breakfast.

It is easy to assume that when a guest puts the "Maid Service Requested" door hanger on the door that should be sufficient. However, the door hanger is practically useless. You have to let the front desk know a day ahead in order to have your room addressed.

Lately in my hotel stays there have been loafers and trouble makers (at least one) who either don't pay their fees or have small noisy daughters picking all apart. I don't mind the transients and homeless, but the girls make it impossible and uncomfortable for everyone. What can you do?

Beat-related attractions, location close to public transportation, variety of restaurants (Asian, Italian...), nice staff, microwave, and fridge in the room.

Hotel North Beach has been my favorite San Francisco place to book. It's in fabulous, exciting North Beach where the Italians live and eat at some of the best restaurants in world. The hotel is old San Francisco since before WW2. It's over 150 rooms differ as the building hugs the corner of 3 streets. I love It's inside quietness and outside fun

The GM (Genera lManager) "Janice is always pleasant and cheerful.The reason I keep booking at this hotel is a while back I was going through a lot and was contemplating on taking the easy way out . I had just that weekend found out that someone who it thought was the love of my life and my soul mate , I found out I found out that she had been having it in a fair on me with her ex-husband and it trust me and I was conflicting not living anymore and one morning early morning I went down there and she had a nice smile when she was very pleasant and just feel like I thought that every woman was evil then she said good morning Mr Martin I stopped in my tracks and she had an amazing smile and something about her to this day she still does not have any clue , what she had stopped me from doing that day I emotionally have not had the courage to explain and talk with her about that dad at 6 months ago you want to know the real reason I return It's because of her understanding and thoughtfulness and her staff that makes them shine to me like gaurdian angels is very hard to me too express my feelings to her or her staff. I usually stay a couple nights every other week (so Janice and your staff if you if you happen to read this I do not feel that way any longer I'm ALIVE TODAY cause the way she stopped what she was doing to talk to me she had and still has something about her that keeps me returning when I'm feeling down 😭😂❤️😇😇😇😇😱😱
