The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco

Staff were amazing, super friendly, and extremely helpful with any questions we had about the area or connecting transport to other cities. The gym is a really solid fitness facility for a hotel and the presentation of the venue was everything I had expected.

Shower bath. One thing I can't stand is showing whilst standing in a bathtub, not what I had expected, but if that was the worst thing about my stay, I'd say I have pretty first-world problems.

Super comfortable bed and plenty of space in the room.

It's nice but not new, so expect everything to be a little aged, like early 2000s

We stayed for our honeymoon and were upgraded to a corner king room which was really lovely. The staff were kind, interested and helpful. The room was immaculately clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The location was exactly what we wanted given that the things we wanted to do were predominately in the north and north east of the city. The only downside we could complain about was the price of the food and drinks. A very average bottle of red wine will cost you north of $80 and any time spent in the bar will feel like a violent assault on your bank account. That being said, the service that accompanies those expensive drinks is beyond reproach. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.

Great location, and lovely room. And happily, there was a dividing door between the bedroom and living area sofa bed (this is important for us, and for our teenage children but usually difficult to pinpoint in descriptions and photos). Staff attentive, and breakfast was fab. Big shout out to Carmen on the 8th floor - she was excellent.

The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the children only told us after we checked out, but they said it was the worst bed of the whole holiday (we stayed in six different places) - so this was disappointing to hear. I guess that they didn't want to be too negative, because obviously this was an expensive stay.

the coffee (but that could be as I am Australian) and also the beds are not comfortable. the king bed is just two singles put together and not what I expect comfort wise for a 5 star Ritz Carlton,

Staff and reception were friendly and eager to make sure we had anything we needed at our fingertips: toiletries, menus, tastings, refills, best seating, informative replies. Lounge service added to the relaxing ambiance & cocktails are delicious! Cleanliness and fresh supplies all around - top notch! Club level is a must stay for full service at all hours. Our room was spacious with historical Views. very comfortable & clean. definitely a solid five star stay!

unfortunately, burning wood in their beautiful marbled fireplaces found on several floors and in the main lounge area are not environmentally acceptable in SF. however, the faux fire that replaced wood has more of a Halloween appearance with the dark spooky orange glow and drifting vapors. I know this can be improved upon with minimal sustainability design effort.

I love it and I want to live there full-time. The staff is perfect and attentive, and it's in a great location. The beds are super comfy and everything was clean and nice.

The long walk up the hill. Took a lot out of time frame and schedule. Just getting a rental car the next trip. Ms. Southern California
