The location and vibe of the North Beach area was great. The Hotel itself was very attractive and had character without being old fashioned. The room was bright, spacious and attractive with lovely views of the square and Coit Tower. The bed was comfortable and there were tea and coffee making facilities in reception although nothing in the room. I would definitely recommend

The shower took ages to run warm and this is not a hotel for those who have mobility issues. We were on the first floor but there are no lifts so don't bring heavy baggage. Even ground floor rooms had steps. Other than this no complaints

The room was a good size, clean and well appointed. The location is excellent and close to buses, cable cars, and walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf etc.

The hotel is not manned. You need an active smart phone with the OpenKey App to get access to the hotel AND your room. If your mobile phone is not active/working with the number you used to book, you cannot get in. This problem occurred to several guests during our stay. There is no receptionist/concierge on site to assist or answer questions about the hotel or about local amenities

I liked how quaint it was. It felt very comfortable, and the atmosphere was great! I also loved the bathroom. It was not IN my room, and that was a little different than I've had before, but the bathroom was big, and I loved the shampoo and conditioner provided. There was a little basket with all the extras. Including ear plugs! Which is thoughtful since this city is not quiet. I also thought the water in the room was fantastic! It really looks just like the website photos!

It was warmer than I'd like and my fan wouldn't turn on, and the staff couldn't find a new battery for the remote. But that was small dislike. I also didn't like that there wasn't an iron in my room. But they were available when staff was there.

The location is perfect for up to a week in San Francisco. All parts of the city easily accessible by public transport, city bikes, or even by foot. Practical self check-in / app solution for the whole stay. Even though the walls are thin and the streets are fairly busy, noise was not an issue at all for us.

The price is beyond what can be justified, but that is true all over San Francisco at the moment. We found an ideal middle point at Washington Square Inn between location, comfort and price.

I loved the room. window blinds were great as it dont get dusty and lights come in and i get great view of the public garden outside. its smacked centre in italy town and walkin distance to china town. so much food available around. i can hear ppl walkin. outside but u in a city and its a small property so all i can say of past guests is live and let live lol.

housekeeping could be more instinctive abt making up room but its fine coz they did it asap upon request.

Decorated with understated charm, comfortable bed. Steps away from the busy North beach, but off the main drag, so actually quiet. An unattended 'front desk,' all is done with your smart phone, so if you don't have one, it is probably a little more complicated.

I got the impression from their posting that I would be able to store my bag. I arrived at 9:30 am and knew I would not be able to enter my room until 3pm. And there was no one at the front desk to tell me where to store it. Luckily, one of the housekeeping staff, Cindy, kindly showed me a safe place for it

Extremely charming hotel. It had a classic look that compliments North Beach very well. The check-in process was quick and easy. The location is right off the park, so if you're looking for a place to stay in North Beach, you can't do better.

The app used for accessing your room, checking in, and checking out is great. The only quirk is you need a phone number that you have access to to be able to use it. Just a heads up for those international travelers who might make this booking with a different number or might not have access to text messages while abroad.

The location in North Beach was great. I liked the non-contact check-in, key code app for the entrance and room. The bed was very comfortable and room was relatively quiet (it's downtown San Francisco after all). Parking at the North Beach Parking garage was a good stroke - just be ready to walk a few blocks to and from the Washington Square. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops/bakeries within walking distance.

It was a bit confusing figuring out where the bathroom was and how to access it. Perhaps a note next to the bathroom key in the room. The staff was very helpful when I called them.

I booked three rooms for family. Room 10 was so very quiet. Room 11 ( think it was 11), 2nd floor bay window, had a beautiful view. The church and COIT tower. Lovely lovely hotel. Easy access by using the pin numbers, which were provided before 3:00pm which was a blessing because my kids and their spouses were coming from out of town and state. They arrived about the same time as my husband and I. Once we entered our room, there was a knock on the door and my husband opened it and found our kids had come to celebrate his birthday.

Everything. Unlimited coffee and tea available in the lobby at all times . Great bar next door. The hotel is also easily reached by bus. Fisherman’s wharf is at short walking distance.

There was no breakfast. There was no black tea only non-caffeinated teas. I got my own tea.
