I must say I didn't have huge expectations, thinking the hotel might be a little tired, while clearly very grand as can be seen from the photos. But the photos can often hide many faults. On the contrary, the hotel felt like it had been freshly decorated, with a very fresh feel to the hotel corridors, and our room and bathroom. They clearly spend money on upkeep, which can't be said for other 'luxury' Marriott group resorts we have stayed in this year. The bathroom products were the best of our California trip, so no wonder they have a sign up to discourage people stealing them. The food and drinks we had in the Pied Piper were equally excellent, and again some of the tastiest of the trip. It's definitely a clubby masculine after work vive in there, but our 10 year old really enjoyed eating in there. It felt equally luxurious and maintained. The main breakfast room is, as you will have seen from the pictures, very grand and historic. But again it maintained high standards and felt modern and fresh. The buffet was very good too. All in all I would not hesitate to stay here again, though sadly SF itself does not entice visitors these days, as is well documented. Perhaps that is why this hotel offered such good value.

I guess another restaurant in the evening other than the Pied Piper would be good...given the Wall St aesthetics, but there are plenty in SF of course. Then whilst it didn't score as bad as many places on our trip, they should have more knowledge (and labels) on what is and is not gluten and dairy free (for example the bread at breakfast we had varying responses on if it contained dairy, so lacked confidence), and moreover offer more DF/GF options...especially decent deserts for kids with a dairy allergy! Surprisingly California was far inferior to the UK on the allergy front.

I stayed at Palace Hotel during the Game Developer Conference (GDC) that occurs annually for work. it was centrally located in a fairly safe area of SF, which was important as I’d be walking around on my own. Our rooms, while a bit dated for the $700/night price point, were clean, with comfortable beds and relaxing bath. Daily breakfast buffets were greatly appreciated and the staff were a riot, letting me take 5 of those cute mini Tabasco sauce bottles back home. I’m sure outside of marquee convention dates, room prices are more affordable.

A beautiful hotel with super comfortable rooms. the bed was amazing as was the shower. would highly recommend to anyone looking for a treat in San Francisco

room, bright, clean, comfortable, would've preferred a better view of the city! Location was great, central to my visits! Breakfast acceptable, just had coffee and danish! There were only two employees that stuck out as exceptional Jose at the concierge desk and the second bellmen (think he said he's from Thailand)that brought bags up to our rooms! Literally everyone else including at the check in desk needs training in "customer service"!

Very clean and all housekeeping staff always greeted us when they would see us. The staff member that delivered out room service was very nice and Eben shared some history on the hotel and Dan fransisco which I thought was so cool .

When I ordered room service the person that awnsered was very rushed and didn't really want to awnser questions . I wanted to know what came with certain things and never got a chance to ask

Fantastic ambience great staff, only had a problem while checking in, The person who attended to me was biased n gave me a bad room, which I got it changed. The staff was great and a comfortable stay and recommended very highly of this great gorel

Checking in the person who checked me in gave me a very bad room, already had a feeling he was biased, besides this I enjoyed my stay and hotel staff were very warm and helpful.A big thanks to Palace Hotel to make my stay enjoyable.

room was spacious, location easy to find, breakfast options were fantastic. I also loved the bathroom 100%, the bed was very comfortable. Overall room, polite staff very personable made me feel great!

No extra blankets if needed, I called the front desk to request two blankets, it took 30 minutes before I had to callback to see the status no one answered the phone. I became frustrated as every had been perfect up until this moment, as I was putting on my clothes from my pj's to go down to the desk to see what was going on I called again no answer 5 minutes later phone rings service for blankets had arrived.

Room is small. No microwave, no coffee maker in the room. View from our room was bad for the price, we were facing an office building and I paid $850 for 2 nights. Parking is very expensive as well.

Absolutely spectacular entrance hall with lovely thanks giving and Christmas decoration. Pools was nice. Could have been a bit warmer.

Breakfast service had a too small capacity for a large hotel with too long waiting times. Not suitable for a busy schedule. Need to have breakfast somewhere else. The breakfast manager was quite arrogant.

very royal, clean and comfortable. will definitely go back. great location- Well connected by walking distance to shopping, all cuisines, Street car statin and cable car station. 20 mins from Airport. The beds are perfect. Housekeeping staff is amazing.

we really wished there was more availability for the special high tea so we could enjoy that experience also.
