The rooms and lobby at Soma house are recently fully refurbished, really really comfortable, clean and fresh. The staff are welcoming and so helpful especially Naomi. A short walk to public transport, a grocery store, laundromat and the bustling centre of the city. 10min public transport ride to the waterfront.

Some of the new renovations are still ongoing such as the gym and restaurant. The area is in the heart of homelessness in SF which was confronting but I had no trouble.

The rooms were very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the rooftop heated pool. The staff at the hotel was excellent and very accommodating. Free parking with security watching your car 24/7.

The neighborhood is pretty rough with homeless people, plus trash and filth on the streets. You are literally going to see homeless people, if not trip over them from time to time. The front desk gave us safer alternatives to reach the cable cars and Union Square, but when the sun goes down I recommend Uber to head downtown.

The fact that the parking was included in the stay and the staff were really friendly.

We could hear the people above us stomping around. Not that big a deal, but the breakfast pastries were on the stale side.

The room we stayed in was a fan only, which was fine this is what we chose, but the windows didn’t open at all. There was something that’s what put there to purposely not allow you to open it which is crazy because it was extremely hot inside the room. I saw many different rooms with the doors left open while people were sleeping because like I said it was very hot. The staff was nice enough to provide a standing fan for us, but it really wasn’t enough. I would suggest removing the hard metal thing that was screwed in on the window in order to allow your guests to sleep with the windows open.

The rooms decorations was really cute and I loved that the mirror in the room had those beauty lights to see better. The room was nice and the bed and bedding was nice and clean.

The room had no A/C and it was tremendously muggy. There was a ceiling fan but it was really hot in the room. The bath tub was really gross and kept filling with water without using it.

It's still being remodeled but the concept is nice, I would recommend it for young people. I'm a light sleeper and since the room faces the hallways, it was somewhat difficult to fall asleep because of the noise.
