Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Montrose - Black Canyon Area, an IHG Hotel

Lobby was nviting. Easy to find & near gas & grocery store. Room very clean

Breakfast needs work! Turkey sausage tasted like cardboard. Cheese omelet was good. No oatmeal either cooked or instant. Only had milk in gallon containers - messy to pour from. No cream or real half & half only flavored ones. Only offered apple juice in small bottles for juice. Fruit was apples- raisins to spoon onto you cereal. Lobby was pretty but rugs needed vacuuming due to high traffic.

The staff was very nice, desk was very helpful with the gym noise. Hotel was full, and we could not change rooms. We had a nice stay

Our room was above the gym, treadmill could be heard and felt through the third floor, talked with the desk and after guest had used it, the front desk had it turned off. Very nice, and greatful.

The bedding is comfortable and we had a nice night of sleep. It's 20min drive from Black Canyon NP which was very convenient for our road trip.

Our room window was above the outdoor jacuzzi in which other guests were hanging out/partying till its closure at 10pm. It was loud even though our window was closed. Then it became quite as soon as they left. There was also a wedding/party in the conference room which was by the jacuzzi. Noisy too till people left. We stayed on a Saturday night. The breakfast is composed by self service packaged items and one of the bagels we took was moldy (no expiry date on the item as they buy them in bulk).

Breakfast was ok. Staff were doing the best they could given Covid. Room was good size and comfortable. Lobby was very nice. Front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. Housekeeping staff were outstanding.

Disappointed they could not give me a late (1 hour) checkout. Housekeeping indicated it was no big deal to them but front desk just said it was impossible. Satisfaction improves when staff are empowered to make common sense decisions that help the guest. I'm guessing this was a corporate policy due to hiring/Covid challenges that seemed like a good idea but took away authority staff needed to do their job effectively. (My perspective is probably influenced by the fact I spent $300 per night here on a pretty basic room).

We were glad they were dog friendly. It was a cozy stay with better than average breakfasts. The location couldn't have been better.

The only things i didn't like was that the pet areas outside never had any bags. And our floor in the room was sticky in some areas

Staff and all employees were courteous, friendly and helpful. Room was spacious comfortable and very clean. Breakfast had a nice variety of foods. Location was very convenient.

Tv service was marginal and difficult to work. Entrance into the parking lot was difficult to maneuver.

Very well-organized big hotel, that looks new and fresh inside, room was nice, comfortable, super clean. Despite being a big place with a lot of people, it was very calm, at least we did not hear a single noise and slept well. Whole place is very well kept, spotless and shining. Pool and hot tub were available, my kids enjoyed both. Pet friendly. And pets include cats! Really good hot breakfast, that includes scrambled eggs and sausages.

Breakfast was distributed by a single person, and in such a big hotel that gathered a lot of people in the line, which is not the best thing to happen considering COVID. And person who was distributing meals was only one arm available for this job, as another arm was injured.

The pool and spar were wonderful.

It was noisy in the morning with guests leaving early and the ice machine was just outside our room. We were offered a choice of floors and had we known maybe the top floor would have been better

Very comfy hotel with nice spacious rooms and really beautiful lobby and breakfast area...felt like being in a mountain lodge with stone fireplace and lovely local art work. Friendly desk staff who suggested a great place for dinner (the Stone House), and extra nice to have a full hot breakfast provided in light of the fact that so many hotels/motels are not offering that now due to COVID staffing issues.

The hotel facilities and room were very nice. Breakfast was very good too. We liked the swimming pool as well.

The only minor issue was getting to the hotel driveway and entrance. It’s a bit confusing but after you do it once, you get used to it.
