Village Inn Destin

The property exceeded our expectations. We booked a a Queen room and the room was very big and looked newly renovated with modern furniture. The front staff, especially the owner was super friendly and accommodating. The front desk hall is very clean and welcoming. They also offered a free breakfast everyday and the property also had a pool. Furthermore the location is great, because it’s on the main strip in Destin and has lots of restaurants, fast food stores and souvenir stores nearby. It’s also not far from Crab island and the beaches. We loved that the hotel is very dog friendly and that the pet fees are affordable compared to other hotels in the area. Our puppy couldn’t have been happier!!

The AC was a little bit loud in the rooms, but otherwise everything was great.

Clean both in the office/breakfast area and outdoor pool area, and the cleaning crew for the rooms was also top notch. Rooms are very big and very well kept. Friendly and helpful staff and many of them (always someone around to help or answer questions). Really cool decor and large fish tank with many fish including Nemo & Dory. Beautiful parrots hanging out as well. Excellent location near anything and everything you could want. Right across the street from the boardwalk where nearly every excursion leaves from.

My only complaint which I would rather call a suggestion for improvement would just be the option of yogurt or eggs at breakfast. Just a bit more for protein options.

Rooms were very clean, staff cleaned daily and gave fresh towels daily. Pool was perfect size to relax. Location was more than perfect. Only time we had to drive was to get to the beach or surf style shops which both were quick easy drives, otherwise everything we wanted to do and things we didn’t know we wanted to do were all within walking distance. Staff was very friendly as well!! All around perfect!!

We did not know until our last day that breakfast was free. On Booking.com it did not show that breakfast was included, there were no signs in hotel that said it was complimentary and staff did not say anything either. Yes I should have asked earlier but it is usually posted or mentioned so wasted lots of money to eat breakfast out.

Driving up to this hotel, I wondered what we got ourselves into. But we were pleasantly surprised when we walked inside. This hotel offers a lower price than most surrounding hotels. The rooms are niced sized and clean. It is located within walking distance to the boardwalk. The hotel provides a nice breakfast, which includes biscuits and gravy, sausage, waffles, pastries, cereal, and juice. The pool was nice and the water was warm. The washers and dryers allowed us to pack less and leave with all clean clothes, which was nice. You can buy quarters there at the front desk. All in all a nice stay.

The toilet didn't flush the greatest. The bathroom door would not shut.

Wonderful location, friendly staff! It’s deceiving from the outside because it doesn’t look as up to date or maybe not as neat and clean as others around, but our room was exceptionally clean with crisp white bed linens, comfortable beds, clean white towels and new flooring.

The only issues we had were a problem with the hot water the first couple of days, which it was so hot outside we didn’t mind the cold showers and they learned it was caused by a leak in an empty room! Also, our microwave went out, but the nice lady in the office had a new one in our room immediately.

I liked the overall outside appearance of the hotel, it wasn't sketchy like I expected it to be.. it was quite stylish actually. I'll stay dang near anywhere to save a dollar and I fully expected this place to be an adventure but it was just a normal hotel. They had nice Florida flowers and color scheme. Breakfast was what I expected for a continental breakfast, Coffee was so strong it put hair on your chest which was a plus in my book. Front desk people were great, Nice to see Americans working in a hotel. The people staying at the hotel appeared to be normal. Didn't see one hooker or crackhead which was nice. No weird, displaced people screaming at each other throughout the night, unlike most budget hotels. Met a few friendly neighbors during our stay. The location was walkable to a bunch of attractions as long as you weren't disabled. Overall, i was pretty surprised how normal the place was due to the other reviews on here. As long as you aren't boujie, this place would be fine.

Our room's AC was leaking so they moved us to another room which also had a leaking AC but its the dog days of summer and this is common with this type of AC system. It happens..

Staff: 10/10 were so kind & welcoming! I hope their boss knows that !! They deserve a good raise or bonus a couple times a year . Location: 9/10close to restaurants, shopping, the harbor was across the street if you wanted to go look at boats or do anything related to that , then other beaches like Miramar Public Beach was about 15-20 mins give or take on traffic and Henderson State Park ($6 to get in) was about 8-10 mins give or take on traffic . Btw both of those beaches were so beautiful, nice white sand, clear waters . Food: 8.5/10Breakfast was biscuits, sausage, sausage gravy , cereal , and waffle makers along with some toast, and pastries ..juice and water available too Room: 8.5/10 Bed was so comfortable, room was spacious enough for us anyway , I liked the lights and lamps in the room and that it had a full length mirror , hair dryer, microwave, fridge , everything was pretty clean ,but the bathroom floor probably could be fixed up a little and the toilet was older and kind of low , also the shower curtain was a little stained but overall the tub was clean and the toilet was , also the hot water wasn't working well at first but they told us to turn the sink water on hot first and then the shower and let it run a little and then bam, hot water , said because it has not been circulating much when not being used , water pressure and temp was perfect after that , also the travel size soaps ,shampoos, conditioner and lotion smelled good , I used the conditioner because I forgot mine . Had a coffee pot too but we didn't use it , also the towels we had were soft , tv had a good amount of channels so we enjoyed that late at night , room also includes a phone if you were to need that and plenty of plug ins Pool: 9/10 clean clean pool!

Our room was close to the dumpster so we were woken up by the banging very early

For the price i expected barely there items like economy hotels INSTEAD found comparisons to a full service hotel. The location was a big plus for me able to leave the car in the hotel parking lot and walk to nearby destinations.

First day toddlers in the way unsupervisored getting into everything. The steam table was too hot bisquits were breaking apart from the steam. Couldn't hold the tongs as they were hot to touch. Drinks and cold selections was good along with the seating arrangements. Second day I did not visit as was leaving town.b

The room was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed.

Breakfast was just okay. Not bad, but fruit juices were watery and there was no fresh fruit. All other items were good. I realize this is NOT under the control of the hotel, but I was disappointed that we couldn’t get to the beach without going to the “public access” area on the outskirts of town. The city of Destin should work on getting hotels on the beach to share their access for patrons of the hotels that are not directly on the beach. This reflects on the city of Destin.

We love the location here and the rooms have been updated since our last stay. It has a much nicer and comfy feel overall. The lady at the front desk at check-in is awesome. She does a great job.

The cleaning staff here is cutting corners and needs to do a better job especially since this place worked so hard to update the rooms and draw in more customers. There were things stuck down in the sink that hadn't been cleaned out, such as a water bottle cap and tissue. Also, the floors hadn't been mopped, (only swept) so I had to mop our room with my wet wipes to keep our feet and socks from turning black and the tub had hairs in it so I had to to clean it as well. Other than that, the room was dusted and the bed sheets were clean and smelled fresh.
