The hotel property was surprisingly chic and well-appointed. The decor was appropriate (beach-casual, and southern charm) to make you feel comfortable and like you're on vacation, but wasn't done in a cheap or run-down way. The location is great. There's a very lively (but not too rowdy) restaurant/bar across the street, along with other restaurants and places nearby. It truly is a gem and well worth the price. They provided complimentary refreshments for certain meals and a free shuttle to and from the annual Shrimp Festival.

We went for the Shrimp Festival, and truly appreciated the free shuttle to and from that location, but the shuttle times didn't match the main event times. If you wanted to catch some of the main events you'd have to leave early independent of the shuttle. If you wanted to use the shuttle to come back, the hotel staff couldn't tell you the exact location to go to get the shuttle. I thought that was odd (and honestly a liability).

The room, breakfast area, lobby, pool area and grounds were exceptionally clean and well cared for and looked after. Breakfast food was a little above the norm and the breakfast attendant was superb. Housekeeping staff were pleasant and accommodating. Maintenance guys were cordial. Bed, bathroom, TV, fridge , microwave and A/C were all above average. Liked that they had hardwood floors and not room carpet. They honored my request for a high floor room. Loved the shape of their luggage carts! Luggage carts also seemed newer. Loved the rocking chairs out front.

All but one front desk clerk seemed unhappy to be there and doing their job. Very few smiles and definitely not a welcoming attitude. Woman working the morning shift with long dark hair was the exception to the aforementioned. Wifi was spotty in the room but I've noticed that happens a lot at Florida Beach Hotels/Motels. Jacksonville Beach and St. Augustine Beach has the same problem.

This hotel is right across from the beach access which makes it perfect if that is your primary reason for going to Amelia Island. We got an Ocean View Suite, which we really liked since I love having a view of the water and listening to the waves. Across the street is also a great restaurant - Sliders - which serves seafood and a good selection of casual dining. They also have live music and a beach bar, that may just be the best beach bar in all of Florida (sandy floor and view of dunes and water). The hotel offers a good breakfast (eggs, yummy waffles)

Even though the room was a suite, it felt very bare. There is a kitchenette but no utensils and only tiny plastic cups. No rugs, just one wastebasket, etc.

The location was perfect. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed. Fridge and microwave in room. Nice breakfast!

I always wonder if housekeeping really washes all sheets if they don’t look slept on. I wonder the same about towels left hanging from previous occupant. After I took my shower, I wrapped a towel around me(straight off of the towel bar) and it had toothpaste smeared on it like some one wiped their face. The towels looked clean from front. I would hope that housekeeping doesn’t take shortcuts in the future and wash everything in the room when a guest leaves. Other than that….. no complaints.

We got in around 10pm and check in was a breeze. The room was extremely clean and did not have a bleach smell. The beds were very comfortable. A/C worked great. Very spacious room and did not feel cramped. Feel like it’s perfect for families. Perfect walking distance to the beach with plenty of attractions/restaurants close by. A bunch of playgrounds near by. Played putt putt at island falls. Found a few shark teeth at main beach. Also loved the different breakfast options! Friendly and helpful staff and would always see someone cleaning.

My only complaint are that the walls sounded paper thin. Could hear the ice maker from down the hall and anyone talking at the reception desk. We had no issues with getting sleep though, as the noise was very minimal at night.

Hotel seems a little dated. Need for coins in the washing machine and dryer. No one seemed to be able to provide quarters. I was able to get two dollar's worth from the clerk on late evening, but that was not enough to dry my clothes. Noise level in halls and in between rooms was louder than normal. Seems sound barriers are not a good as other hotels. You could easily hear conversations and noises between rooms.

Location is key in Florida and this hotel is across the street from the ocean. There is shopping and food in walking distance as well. The rooms are bigger than a standard 2 bed room. There is a microwave and refrigerator along with a sink and counter in the room. Breakfast is included and it was more than cereal, waffles and Danish. They have hot breakfast like eggs, potatoes and sausage. They also change it up to include biscuits and gravy. Didn't really get a chance to use pool as it was unusually cold but, did notice they supply pool noodles, rings, toys and even a baby boat. Highly recommend this place.

The exhaust fan in our bathroom did not work. There is a picture on their website that is misleading and should be removed. It shows they have cookies and water containers with lemons and limes. I'm guessing that has been removed since covid. Unfortunately, I mentioned this to the grandkids, so they were looking for it.

The room was as advertised, the staff was very friendly. The private balcony was magnificent. The breakfast was well-prepared, they had all the essentials and more. The only complaint was the AC unit was choppy, it worked for a few hours then cut off a few hours. It never really worked properly. My overall stay here was great, and I will be returning to explore the area more.

Love the location! It looks like they remodeled in some ways but not in others! No big deal though. We loved that there was a pool to get in after a day at the beach!

The lady that was in the kitchen on 7/19/23 was VERY rude to several people. Telling them they were “impatient”, catching an attitude. She also decides to sweep right in the middle of the breakfast rush as people were trying to make waffles while the batter was out. The front desk people however were very nice!

The location is great...the self-seve breakfast was good with a variety of items to choose from either hot or cold breakfast. Our room had a good view of the water from the balcony.

The evening desk clerk gave us the impression she was bored with her job and uninterested in making the guests feel welcome. We had a good view of the water from our balcony but the blinds on the balcony door were broken and missing pieces...we reported it to the clerk and she acknowledged it but no one during our stay offered to replace it. The sink faucet in the kitchenette area had a significant amount of lime deposit build up. Our room had a connecting door to the adjacent room that did not keep the noise out from the chatty guests in that room.
