Sunset Inn is a gem. The full renovation done by current owners is lovely and has some creative upscale touches. We were very comfortable. The only slight downside (for some) is that the property fronts the Overseas Hwy and does have a little traffic noise, but frankly, we didn't really hear it much even though our room faced that direction. One bonus is that it's easy walking distance to the Lorelai Restaurant and Cabana Bar, which has great food, music, and sunsets. The walk is on a quiet residential backstreet, so you can leave the car parked and enjoy a pleasant stroll from the Inn. Staff were SUPER friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated their help! We needed a handicap-equipped room, so the photos show that vs. a standard one. It was just great, and the curbless shower was very nice.

I liked the location of the Inn. It was clean and updated. Much better than the Lime Tree - larger room, better quality furniture, parking, quality towels, and bedding. It's a no-frills situation - they have a pool yet, I asked for a remote room which I was given and it was very quiet. No beach, no view, no kayaks or jetskis - this is a room for sleeping and you're off and about doing things during the day.

The room offered an in-wall A/C unit which was older and super loud - like a freight train all night long. It was a warm evening in July yet, it was a non-stop roar all night long. It also had issues with the condenser and the water was like a faucet on all night with an intense flow to add to the overworked unit. Nothing a pillow over the head wouldn't solve.

The room we were in had a door to access the pool area which was super convenient, the pool area itself was great, the room was comfortable, and the overall location was close to a lot of things within walking distance or a very short Uber ride away!! :)

The pillows were very oddly small and there was not a soda/water machine on property for when the front desk closed in the evenings.

The staff, location and amenities at the Sunset Inn were fantastic. The room was comfortable and spacious with a fridge and coffee facilities. The pool was lovely and although no food onsite Mangrove Mike's cafe next door was great for breakfast (the pancakes are huge) and Lorelei's just down the road was perfect to watch the sunset and food was good. A great base to explore the Keys.

Great location. Comfortable, large room. Refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker.

No table or chairs, no drawers for clothes. Housekeeping only left one washcloth for 4 people, but we averaged 4-6 bath towels and 2-3 hand towels. Inconvenient to go to the office everyday to get washcloths. We stayed an extra 2 nights, I had booked through Booking.com the first 4 nights. When we arrived the office person told me it would be cheaper to book through the Inn for the other 2 nights. It ended up being about $200 more to reserve through the Inn.

The location is perfect if you want to stay in the Key area and you don't want to pay the crazily high prices in Key West. It's an easy ride to Key West, and there are lots of things to do in the area of the hotel as well. The staff is super friendly, the facilities are quite new and the room is really nice. We left a few important items in the drawer (a stupid mistake, but our only one in five weeks and over a dozen hotels ;-)), and within an hour of us leaving the hotel the staff sent me an email telling me that they found them, so we were able to return and pick them up. Key West is amazing, really, but the prices there (of almost everything, basically) are beyond reasonable.

Great hotel! Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The pool and surrounding area was great, complete with a ping pong table and backyard chess! It was walking distance to a few restaurants and bars, and driving distance to even more! Overall I would recommend this hotel 100%!

Would have liked to have been able to check in early, but they were not able to accommodate that which was fine! Wish it was closer to a beach.

Beautiful, modern motel with everything we needed in a perfect location. We couldn't have been happier we chose Sunset Inn and would return in a heartbeat. Kids absolutely loved the pool, there was parking right outside the room which was large and light. There's a backdoor leading out to the pool deck which we used several times over our 3 days spent there. Short walk to Loreleis and Islamorada Brewery. Great Cuban Coffee over the road.

Everything is just perfect! Beautiful Property. Super comfortable rooms, appreciate the green practices. Wonderful pool, lots of fluffy towels at pool, and in the room walking distance to restaurants, watch the sun set over the water walking distance all three nights we stayed. Walking distance to restaurants. We enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed an extra night.

We enjoyed the pool, the room, and the location. The renovations gave it a hip and modern feel. It's hard to find an affordable place to stay that's nice and this worked out well for us.

The only downside is that it's right off the highway and it can be loud at night, but there are so many others like that. This one is much better than other hotels on the main drag.
