This was my favorite place we stayed in the keys. The room was just what we needed- comfortable, clean and quiet. The beach was the best. It was lovely to swim there and so easy to take out a paddle board and a kayak in the morning after eating our free pastries. We watched the sunset from the dock and ate dinner right there on the private beach. It was the perfect keys day.

Just note that you can’t borrow the kayak and paddle boards after 4 pm so we woke up early to make sure we could borrow them since there were only 2 of each. First come first served.

The property and rooms are really well kept and the overall resort is very quaint and clean. The animal theme and colored lights gives it a fun vibe and the guests aren't rowdy --- this is not a young adult spring break party pad, which we loved. Nice beach area with enough room for all guests and the location of the resort is fantastic - plenty available within a short drive and some things within walking distance. There are a few good restaurants, CVS, sandals outlet, Starbucks, Bank of America and more within a short distance. The rooms come equipped with all the basics and the housekeeping team is punctual and thorough. The large tiki hut is a great place to hang out and share a family meal - we did this a few times. Price point is spot on as compared to other resorts and how well the place is taken care of.

The rooms are quite small with limited storage space so pack accordingly. The bed mattresses are OK, not great, and definitely not super comfortable but they worked fine for our short visit. Our room had two double beds. The curtains (at least in our room) can be challenging to keep closed and for whatever reason all of the TVs don't consume the full screen size, but that's not a deal breaker. I learned this after trying to adjust ours then talking to a couple of our neighbors and looking at the one at the front desk common area. You're not missing out if you skip the "continental breakfast" - that could be improved on even if just a little (e.g., serving actual orange juice instead of orange "drink"). None of these things would prevent us from returning though.

beautiful, clean, the beach. my boyfriend and I booked this place needing somewhere to go to relax. (especially after dealing with Ian and on top ongoing red tide. we normally go to key west, but the normal place we stay was booked. honestly I’m glad it was. this is only 3 hours from my house. there are restaurants within walking distance which basically you leave your car and go. highly recommend this place and we will be back. thank you for an amazing vacation

nothing it’s perfect

Right on the bay so we could watch the sunset from the beach and have coffee on the dock the next morning. Right next door was a restaurant where we ate dinner outside, looking at the water and listening to music. I would definitely go back. The room was a little funky in Diver Den 2, and I was worried the traffic on rt 1 would be a problem. It was not a problem. We all slept well. The next morning, after coffee on the dock watching the manatees, we walked down to Mrs. Mack's for breakfast, which was also excellent

The scenery around the resort (animals, dinosaurs, hammocks, BBQ's and shaded areas was beautiful both in the daytime and even more so at night time. The small beach and the view of the ocean were fabulous, and it was great value, hope it stays this way! And they are Pet friendly.

The door knobs/locks are a little older, our door knob got a little stuck and we were outside for a few minutes trying to get in.

Very close to the water and a small beach - with beautiful sunsets! The whole resort is quite small with the feel of a quiet beach getaway - it didn't feel like a large resort packed with tourists (which I would not have liked). We had two rooms at opposite ends of the resort (2 mins walk apart). Each room is different - beach basic but clean, cool and well-maintained. The beds were particularly comfortable (usually a problem for me). We were able to borrow paddleboards from the resort (kayaks are also available) and our family had great fun in the water just next to the small beach (which is quite shallow and sheltered) and dock where there are small tikihuts for shade and several beach recliner chairs.

Not much really. Breakfast was limited to prepackaged pastries and coffee/tea/juice. But served outdoors under a tikihut it seemed good enough!

We were in Cottage Number 7 which is a true one bedroom unit. It's right on the beach and has wonderful views. I have been to Sunset Cove three times in the past year and it never disappoints. It's low-key, no pretention, just pure relaxation and beauty. Several bonuses include the restaurant right next door that has live music every night and the Resort offers frees stand up boards and kayaks. The sunsets are spectacular. If you're not looking for frills but just a fun, chill place, you've found it. Go and enjoy!

Cute little cottages. Quirkey animals and lighting all over property.Was quiet with easy access. Was cold, so didn't get to enjoy the beach area, but looked like could be fun. Each cottage had some outside space to just sit and enjoy. Enjoyed the hammocks.

Breakfast- was packaged pastries- not so good. But close to good breakfast place. Doc's - waffles. The Pinery Bakery for desserts Both are walking distance.

I loved the location, and the sunsets were just incredible! it has a little beach with water that’s so clear you can see all the fish below. My room was very clean and the staff I interacted with were great!

i booked last minute and got one of the “cheap” rooms, which they call Diver’s dens. If it was 1/2 the price I probably wouldn’t have cared, but it was extremely noisy all through the night but especially from around 5am when deliveries started coming in, and it was pretty expensive for such a poor quality sleep! HOWEVER I would go back if I were able to stay in one of the other rooms further away from the road as otherwise the place is great!!

Wonderful place, easy to find, exceptionally clean, good location with restaurants nearby. Very easy check-in, they did have a little beach area but really not for swimming. I came to relax, see the area and fish in Key Largo and accomplished my goals. Would definite!y stay here again. I had the Hideaway cottage with two beds, a pilots on the small side but for 1 person it was perfect. Breakfast food, donuts and such were fine,plus coffee and juice were provided.

I probably would have preferred a resort with a pool, but this was fine.
