Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah - I-95 South - Gateway

Nice room. Decent breakfast with eggs, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal.

It’s undergoing renovations and is a bit gutted looking. There are some trip risks near the stairways. One elevator is broken.

The room was a pretty good size and the bed was comfortable as well. Definitely could spread out a little bit and relax. A lot of room in the bathroom as well, and close to I-95 for when you're leaving. There was an Applebee's right in the same parking lot as the hotel, so you didn't need to go very far to grab something to eat, as well as a Ruby Tuesday right across the road. They had some cookies up at the front desk the one day encouraging people to grab one, which is a nice little touch.

It is about ten miles from town or so, and you have to drive a few highways to get there. Not sure I remember that from when I was booking or not. The parking around the hotel seemed to fill up pretty quickly, and to be honest I wasn't sure if there was more somewhere else around back or off to the side. The water in the room for the shower didn't get really warm, which was a bit disappointing, as I love to have a warm to hot shower in the morning to get everything going. The breakfast was okay, just some of the typical things you see, waffle maker, some cereals and some hot foods (turkey sausage, eggs, bacon, and other stuff), so it's fine for what it is. Wouldn't say I didn't like it, but it was okay, so not sure where to put it.

As with all Hampton Inn and Suites that I have visited, the customer Service is exceptional. There was some confusion with my reservations via Booking, but the issue was resolved immediately. And I was checked in with minimal inconvenience. The kitchen staff should really have a tip jar set up outside the COMPLIMENTARY breakfast area. They are that accommodating! This is not a continental breakfast. It's a full breakfast buffet. The kids had a blast in the indoor pool. And the exercise room is set up so that you can see the kids while you walk on the treadmill. There are restaurants everywhere. If you didn't drive. No worries. Walk out the front door. You can order from your room and pick up, dine in, or have it delivered. Everything is right there!! I felt safe enough to walk around the hotel complex by myself, pick up my food from Applebee's, (Which is right outside the front door!! Ruby Tuesday's is across the street) and return to my room. Also, there is an exceptional seafood spot on the other side of 95 that is less than a mile away. But it's worth the uber drive!! It's called the Shell House. Make reservations if you go on a weekend or you will have to wait! The little outlet off the same exit is not the big Tanger Outlet but is fine if you need a quick outfit. But if you really forgot something Wal-Mart is right down the street. As you can see, convenience is an understatement!! Now they had just started some renovations. So that may provide a little inconvenience in the future, But we had no interruptions during our stay.

The only drawback is that their suites don't separate the bedroom from the living space. Hopefully, that will be redressed during the renovations. There is a daily incidental hold on your card. So prepare for that in advance, But I think that is pretty standard when not travelling for business.

It was a nice hotel, staff was friendly and attentive, and the room was spacious. The room had everything we needed for a family of five to stay comfortably.

The parking situation was somewhat cramped. There was limited space available and there were many big vehicles that were hogging up several spaces at once.

The location is perfect.

The rooms need two chairs!! Two beds…two chairs! People like to sleep in beds and sit in comfortable chairs. That was my only complaint. My 81 year old Mother, doesn’t sit on beds to watch television. Really poor design decision.

I love the city but that hotel everyone was so kind. I was with my 10 yr old granddaughter and we went to Tybee Island so it wasn't too far and lots to do around there

Cleaning staff was very friendly! Front desk staff when I checked in was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable

Breakfast was ok. Eggs were cold and we kept having to ask to have items refilled. Front desk staff, when it was time to check out, I couldn't find anyone to print out my invoice. She was talking to the lady for the breakfast and seemed like she didn't want to be bothered.
