The holliday ambiance, the friendly staff. Treated us like family visiting from out of town. The rooms were awesome with a late Victorian Era feel. Close proximity to everything. Parking was nice. Very comfortable surroundings. They even brought us hot cookies out of the ovenwhen we first checked in. The staff got an anniversary card and decked out the bed in rose petals when they found out it was our anniversary.

The continental breakfast seemed less than it should be with everything else being over the top. It was the middle of the week, so that might not be the case normally.

Unique and so cozy, like visiting Grandma’s house! The grounds were frozen but beautiful. Loved all the Christmas decor in our room and in the entrance to the inn, the sweet plate of cookies in our room when we arrived was a wholesome touch, and it’s proximity to downtown CdA was very handy. Bonus points for the two friendly dogs (yellow lab and a golden retriever) who were adorable greeters at the gate.

Please update the pillows; my neck felt broken the next morning. I didn’t care for the curtained off en suite bathroom, but I get that it’s a historic building and not a Marriott. I couldn’t figure out what time breakfast was served — it’s not listed on the in-room information or booking confirmation email.

Kristen (front desk) was amazing.

The bungee cord situation to get into the property needs to be removed and replaced with an actual lock/code. I couldn't use the Wi-Fi at all in my room (wouldn't connect). I messaged the property on Booking.com and called the front desk and couldn't reach anyone. Probably not the best spot for a business traveler. My hair dryer barely worked so I left with wet hair. There was a huge group checking in who just hung out on the hallways and made it impossible to even get out the door.

The location is within walking distance to downtown, the lake, trails, and more. It’s the perfect location. It’s dog friendly and has a lovely yard for dogs to roam and their owners to relax by the fire pit pr waterfall. There are also yard games to play. The staff is wonderful.

It’s old and therefore you can hear everything that goes on on the floor above you. We had someone who didn’t sleep much and was up walking around ALL hours of the night.

We have stayed here several times over the last few years and find the Roosevelt to be very charming and comfortable. Love the grounds. Their outdoor life-size chess board inspired us to construct one on our property. The owners have honored the long history of the building which used to house a private school many years ago.

No major dislikes. They’ve discontinued the morning sit-down breakfast to order and replaced it with a simple self -serve continental breakfast. We miss the sit-down style.

If you are looking for a sleek modern accommodation, its not The Roosevelt. The Roosevelt is a step back in time in its outside appearance and furnishings inside. The yard/gardens are beautiful and well maintained. There is a place for those traveling with pets and thoughtful amenities for them. The other side of the building has an outdoor chess set and places to relax outside. Once you step inside, the charming old school (pun intended) décor is apparent. Its not "outdated", its what was appropriate for the period the owners are portraying. We stayed in a suite with 2 rooms. The room was comfortable and clean. No television, yay! They brought my new pup a puppy gift, very sweet! I spoke with a few of the employees and they were friendly and professional. Kayla was especially engaging. We got a great recommendation to a restaurant where we could bring my pup and walking distance. It was amazing! Breakfast was great despite someone not showing up to help the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travelers! Thank you!

Not a thing...it was an enjoyable stay!

Easy check in. Easy check out. Comfy beds. Great staff. No TVs but I loved that. Beautiful historic school house with tons of character and gorgeous gardens and outdoor space. The unique rooms and stories about the Inn on the walls were a great touch and kept us occupied. We didn’t have time to stay for breakfast but the cookies were fabulous.

The breakfast offered is a pretty big attraction. I like peace and quiet in the morning and that is exactly the experience that I had. The food was cooked quickly and just right for good start to my day.

There really is nothing I felt lacking here. For my idea of a vacation getaway I couldn't have done better. The location was not in a congested area and was quiet most anytime of day. This offers a much higher value in my opinion than hotel located right next to the freeway. You should be buying the experience there, unless you aren't going to spend any of your time there.

I checked into the Inn on Sunday March 20th, 2022. I had stayed at a bit of a dodgy motel on Saturday night in Surrey British Columbia and I needed to elevate my hotel game! I nailed it with The Roosevelt Inn! Tina and John Hough have a gem of a hotel and location! Everybody deserves to experience this breath-taking establishment. The furnishings within all of the suites are stunning. The bed that I slept on in the Burns Suite had the most comfortable mattress ever! I cannot wait to return to the Roosevelt with my wife.

I am a very early riser and would have enjoyed access to coffee with milk at 4 am within the Roosevelt lounge.

The staff was great. Breakfast was yummy (Apple Cider Pancakes). The grounds were lovely.

We had a 2-room suite. In my daughter's room she could hear the next rooms conversation clearly.
