The room was very spacious. The hotel is located within walking distance to Wrigley Field (~15 min) and the shops and restaurants on Halstead (~5-10min). The staff was helpful and friendly. The neighborhood was quiet and felt pretty safe to walk @ night. There's a grocery store a block away. The bus stop is @ the end of the block.

The motion sensor lights in the bathroom only stay on for 2min or less so if you are taking a shower you have to stick your arm out and wave it around for a second to turn the lights back on. The decor was kind of bland. You may have to wait a while for the 15min loading zone in front of the hotel since there's only room for one car.

Check in was friendly and easy. Mini bar drink/snack selection was great and pretty reasonably priced. Always nice to have the option when you are coming from a busy day and aren't familiar with the area. Loved being right off Lake Shore Drive in a quiet section of Lakeview. Close enough to walk to Wrigley if that's your goal but there is also the 146 bus right on inner LSD that takes your straight downtown via Michigan Ave. The rooms/bathrooms are a bit old but that's part of the charm I think. For the price, you can't really beat the location. We found the bed super comfortable. All in all a great little boutique hotel.

The motion sensing light/fan in the bathroom was a bit annoying. Key card system was not working so the attendant met us at our room to let us in. We were going straight to sleep so this didn't affect us.

As ours was a baseball centric trip, we loved the decor of the hotel. We also found the lobby to be a comfortable place for our group to meet up and hangout in between planned outings. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. (Even though we really only returned to them for sleeping or bathroom breaks before heading over to Wrigley.) We really enjoyed the vintage charm of the Majestic and it's surrounding neighborhood. It was great being in walking distance of the park and so many fantastic places to grab a bite (or a beer).

While overall the vintage vibes of the Majestic were cool, if you looked closer you'd start to notice that some things could stand to be updated. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling in some places, stapled in others, and had a patch that was sneakily hidden behind our hung towels. One of our rooms had issues with the remotes for the TV. But mostly it was the placement of the lighting throughout the rooms. Make sure at night you turn on your flashlight before shutting off the overhead lamp, otherwise you're likely to crash into some of the furniture on your way to bed.

There was no breakfast at this location. This may be because of Covid situation. I was a resident of this place for years ago when he used to be a women’s residence. I was curious to see how did it feel to be there 40 years later. I know the location was excellent.

The place is very dark, very small windows, most of them looking over the roofs of other buildings. Also I dislike the noisy fun from the AC right by the bed.

Excellent location with access to the lakeside, many shops and the Red Line, while also being tucked away on a quiet road. Very helpful staff assisted with check-in and check-out requests. The hotel has an excellent Cubs theme through the common areas.

The decor of the room itself looked a little less smart than the rest of the hotel, and getting the TV to show live channels was a bit of a struggle.

Hidden gem in the northern Chicago suburb of Lakeview. Really haven't spent much time in this neighborhood until recently. We used the Majestic as our home base to explore different areas and streets in Lakeview East. Very convenient location and just a short hop into the city on the L or bus (took ~20 minutes). Express bus 146 stops only a block away. Wonderful sitting room with fireplace and free coffee. Relatively safe area full of mostly young professionals. Would definitely stay here again.

Loud music late at night coming from the apartment complex next door. Brick walls on the Majestic are pretty sound resistant but we still heard the beat of the bass early into the morning. Not the Majestic's fault. Otherwise it was a very quiet neighborhood overall.

Good location for North Chicago attractions/Wrigley/Boystown, plus very close to bus lines everywhere. Comfy beds and decent amenities.

No breakfast offerings, but a short walk to neighborhood cafes. Entry area is pretty rundown looking considering the relatively high weekend room rates.

Great to be walking distance to wriggly field, felt safe walking at night after a concert. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Very friendly staff as well.

Friendly staff, comfy rooms, location was perfect for us. Enough towels in the room and a clean bathroom. Parking for guests is just a little walk away and the staff there was friendly as well. We only stayed one night for a concert nearby, but we would return again.

The only thing we didn't not enjoy was the noise that would be heard in our room like a rattling of a gate or pipes. We didn't hear it at all times, but it would last a while sometimes making it difficult to ignore.

Otherwise the staff was nice and helpful. Even though the building is old, it is very well maintained and the room was spotless. The room was bigger than I expected, it had a living room and even a muni-kitchen with a sink, a fridge, and a microwave. Great location in a historic Lakeview area near the lake. The beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the stay.

The only detail I didn't quite like was that due to the marathon that took place the day I checked out the staff was suggesting to check out later for an additional fee because it wasn't possible to leave the area until 11:30. The question was about 30 minutes later then their regular check out time, and I thought they might have been more flexible. I checked out earlier, and stayed within the loop of the marathon which wasn't a problem, so no big deal.
