Hotel Lincoln

When I lived in Old Town, many, many years ago, the Lincoln was one of those hotels that occasionally got a not-good reputation. It wasn't an actual Flop House, but it was close. Taking it over was a great idea, and glad you did it because I felt safe there. Your subcontractors for the restaurant are excellent; I had breakfast there for the 5 day week. I didn't wander around Old Town until Saturday/Sunday when I started checking out Old Town to see how many of the landmarks had been leveled. The Front Desk and your Housekeeping are superb. But best was that there were enough hangers to hold my clothes. Loved the TV.

It will be a lot better when you get around to putting an extra noise buffer between the rooms on the 9th floor. I missed having a small refrigerator in the room (though where you would put it was questionable). The bathroom tub could use an extra row of non-slip strips. And it would also be nice to have SINGLE person size bed, Or a pull-out bed, or a smaller writing table, or a single bed table. I smacked my shin against the bed more than once. I finally pulled the mattress out a little to save my shins. If your guests are going to pay Hyatt prices, the size of the bed should match the size of the room.

We upgraded the room to get a view of the park and the lake. We would have been disappointed otherwise, so we are glad that the check-in staff asked us about upgrading. The bed was comfortable. I loved the water bottles and that we could refill them. Also the ice machines were great. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We also loved the location and the rooftop bar.

The AC was too loud. What we ended up doing was keeping it at low temp when we were out of the room during the day, and turning it off when we came back at night. Also the shower drain was a little clogged. We got maintenance to come and fix it.

Hotel Lincoln is located on Lincoln Park, nearby both beaches, steps away from tons of restaurants and shops. We loved the location. Also, the room had Malin + Goetz products in the bathrooms, which we appreciated. We upgraded to a lake view which had lovely views throughout the day. Finally, there is a fun rooftop bar that's definitely worth checking out.

The rooms were a bit dated, and price to value ratio was a bit off.

Staff was very kind and looking to make all guests feel comfortable.

The attached cafe house was grossly overpriced and understaffed. Luckily, there is a wonderful restaurant around the corner. It’s called Nookie’s and has an amazing breakfast menu…and serves lunch and dinner, as well.

I loved the decoration, the ambiance and the staff. the manager is a great guy. They were helpful and accommodating. The roof bar has brilliant views.

The lift is a bit hit and miss and the bathroom tap drips but the location is brilliant, so these are minor quibbles. Chicago is an expensive city so prices are not cheap.

Staff ~ always kind and helpful. Location~across street from park and lake. Near public transportation. Food/Drink~ great coffee shop in lobby (Elaine's) & Kennison's Bar/Restaurant was a lovely place to relax and get a drink. Rooms~comfortable with fun decor. Great views of park and lake.

Parking. Although being able to use the Chicago History Museum's lot was convenient, it was expensive. Maybe a discount could be worked out for guests staying at the hotel. No fridge in the room.

Very charming, maybe a little dated, hotel close to old town Chicago. Fantastic personnel, Good alternatives for breakfast lunch and dinner at the hotel. Amazing roof top bar! Very good location if you don´t need to stay in the city center. Good and cheap public communication. Close to the beach! Close to the Zoo! All in all good for everybody!

I think it´s time to update the rooms. They are charming but could really use a make over. It looks like it hasn´t been done for many years.

The hotel is in a great location! We walked all over, the zoo, beach, bars, shops, and second city. Food was great, room was spacious. The hotel is decorated in a cool way. The shower pressure was intense, the shower head is almost too big for the shower but is that really a complaint.. no. The front staff gave us water when ever we needed some. The cleaning staff was super helpful when we needed more coffee kcups and shampoo.

Breakfast was included in the price however once at the hotel and after we were checking out I figured out we had a max of $35 for Breakfast each morning if it went over it was added to our room. It would have been nice to know that when checking in or have the limit on the voucher would have been helpful. Chicago is expensive but over all we had a great time.

My room was really nice. It had an old school vibe. The towel rack is in the shower, which was kind of weird. In a great location and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would return.

Customer service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. The location is great, being next to the park is a huge win and you are right near the downtown area of Lincoln Park. It’s less than a 10 min drive to the loop (downtown Chicago). But the Lincoln park neighborhood is beautiful and worth exploring. The proximity to the park was also important to us to ensure we had a place to walk our dog. Rooms were clean and the rooftop was really nice during the daytime and at night.

The design of the room was a bit outdated, but we’re consistent with pictures of the property online, so it wasn’t much of a surprise. The AC unit we had in our room was very slow to cool down the room and the bed/sheets could have been more comfy. And the most ideal parking situation is $66 per night, which is a bit pricey but allows in/out privileges while other cheaper options do not. To us it was worth it for the added convenience rather than having to walk a few blocks away to a random lot. With all these comments in mind, they are more things to flag rather than to discourage people from the property, we would definitely stay here again.
