Hilton Garden Inn Springfield, IL

I was not prepared for how overall bad Springfield looks. I did not feel safe in the downtown area so I was really glad my daughter and I stayed at this property away from downtown. I felt safe and the property is well-staffed, clean and bright. We were there for a sports tournament that was held downtown so we were only 10 minutes away from downtown. The staff is well-trained and helpful. We got a great restaurant recommendation right down the street.

Our room was on the 2nd floor and right outside our window was rooftop industrial equipment. We checked in at night so I didn't see it until the next morning. At that point we didn't feel like moving. I would've preferred to be on a higher floor.

Once again, the location was a huge plus. Easily accessible to different businesses in the area. I also like that I can get food delivered right to my room door with no problem.

The first room I was given had a rather peculiar smell. I thought I'd be able to handle it but when I couldn't I brought it to staff attention and they tried their best to find new accommodations on the same floor a little closer to my kid's room and I appreciate that immensely. Only other thing I couldn't really get past were the other guests in the pool area. I have small children and the bigger kids that came in after us kept jumping in splashing my daughters faces causing them to be uncomfortable quite a few times. We didn't stay very long.

Loved it's location. Very close to shopping, very easy to get to. Beautiful lobby.

The doors. The room doors were very heavy and slammed behind you, which actually startled one of my children who has an aversion to loud noises. Also, there is an outdoor leading to the parking lot that may need to be looked at. It didn't open when I used my key until I came down after getting my kids situated in the room to check my car. It blew open and didn't close until I forced it to.

Most of the breakfast tasted good. The WiFi worked really well for the event that we were there for. The room was nice and comfortable. Our booking was a bit unorthodox, and the staff did a great job of sorting things out and making sure everything was taken care of quickly.

The Eggs tasted really bad at breakfast, and the room was a bit cold and we could not change the temp or turn off the air.

Staff was great and room was clean. We like the area in the lobby to meet others staying there.

We've been here a few times over the years. It just seems to need a refresh.

I have stayed there many times. ( I will be staying there I. June.) Clean Hite, comfortable and I feel the hotel has gotten worn, carpet, bedding furniture. friendly, helpful staff! I just feel the hotel is getting worn and needs some updating.

The room looked clean and safe. The beds were nice and the room over all was comfortable. The breakfast was good, especially compared to previous hotels we stayed at.

Please update the signs. Your sign said the pool was closed. We didn't realize the pool was accessible by appointment with the front desk (thanks COVID). Then again, we thought the pool should have been open to the public anyway.

The location was perfect. It was right off the highway and close to the movies and restaurants.

The hot tub had hair in it and didn’t look clean so I didn’t use it.

Breakfast was very good and plenty of choices

I’m disappointed your pool is still not up and running. After driving all day it’s nice to relax with a swim or hot tub

I didn't realize that the room rate was different than the Bookings.com rate until I returned home. The Hilton Garden Inn rate was $10 more per night when I checked out. I didn't realize that when I selected the Booking rate to pay at the hotel it was not a fixed rate. Instead of paying $89 including tax Hilton charged my credit card $100 including tax. The room was great. The surprise was not great at all.
