the balcony was super nice and the bed was very comfortable.

the door to our bedroom would not lock when we were in the room. someone had walked into our bedroom looking for someone that wasn’t us. it wasn’t too big of a deal but was just quite weird.

The Balcony Guest House had great character and charm! As a solo traveler, it felt very safe. I didn't arrive until later in the evening, so I didn't have the opportunity to experience the restaurant downstairs, but it looked like a nice place. My room had ample space and everything I needed. The location was walkable and an easy drive from other central attractions.

I wished the restaurant downstairs was open a little later, as I was hoping to get a snack and drink to sit on the balcony. There were other spots open nearby, so it was no big deal.

It was in a cute little part of town. The street itself was very cute and cozy, and there were some great places to go nearby. The AC worked well, but it was SO hot when we were there that the room still felt a little humid. We had some questions on arrival and Cassie was great in answering our questions helping with whatever we needed. We felt safe leaving our car parked on the street. Our room didn't have a balcony, but we did have access to the main balcony, which we really enjoyed.

The room was small, but it was fine for the two of us for a couple days. I know some are bigger than the one we had, so we would have probably picked a different room if we were staying longer. The shower pressure was a little low, but good temperature, it got nice and hot. We really liked the neighborhood, and it felt safe, but at night I would say just be careful how far you walk in certain directions.

The big balcony was awesome to have lunch or breakfast and sit in the sun or shade. The downstairs restaurant had a crawfish boil on the street and they let us take our trays upstairs. The building is incredibly charming and has the historic quality I love in a small hotel. Room #1 is on the corner of the big balcony and absolutely worth a little extra to get. I thought it might be noisy with other folks using the balcony, but it was totally fine.

Less of a dislike and more of a tip... The innkeepers are very responsive and helpful. If you are the one making the booking, be sure to share their phone numbers with others in your party since there is no front desk.

Cozy, staff were comforting, far enough from the strip, where there was peace and quiet. Yet, you were blocks from other sources of entertainment.

It was a double edge sword, you wanted peace and quiet and also a night life to enjoy. I’m one that doesn’t like to get around by car, so I did a lot of walking. I wish there were more of the electric bike access or scooters people can use to get around town. Maybe a guide that pointed out more local restaurants and bars to visit locally. There were quite a few located blocks away, but I just did not know where to go.

There was no breakfast or breakfast items (as advertised) available in the guesthouse. However a capsule type coffee machine, which also provided hot water, was a welcome presence. A selection of tea bags would also be nice. There was a wild thunderstorm one morning that blew over the balcony umbrellas with some touching the outdoor electrical wires. For the rest of my stay they remained that way. Weird. The downstairs restaurant, Silk Road, was excellent. Friendly helpful staff who honoured the discount for guesthouse guests.

Loved the balcony room. The co-owner just happen to meet us as we arrived at the guest house. He was very helpful and knowledgeable which made our stay that much more enjoyable. We will definitely recommend this property to our friends traveling to New Orleans.

The bed was very comfortable but in order to get a queen bed in the room they had to place the bed against the wall. This made it difficult to get out of bed for one person.

The rooms were clean and the area was quiet (which was wonderful). We were always able to find parking. I liked that there was coffee in my room and in the common areas. The stairs are narrow to reach the rooms but still easy to navigate.

We tried to eat at the restaurant but the waitress/hostess was rude. The sheets didn't stay on the mattresses because they are so deep. The water pressure at balcony guest house was great, but royal guest house had very little water pressure.

It's in a good location, short walk to alot of restaurants and the French quarter. Our room was clean and right in the court area. Our friends room was clean. However, this is not a bed and breakfast, no breakfast is supplied. Which wasn't a huge thing for us as we were there to try out restaurants. We spent 10 days here, only requested new towels and garbage emptied once. They do not come in daily unless requested, we had a stove but no burners, so you can't cook either. Like I said though, we came for the food not too cook it. The Silk Road restaurant is a great place to get cheese boards and wine. We had a great stay, nice and quiet area, beds were comfortable, room was clean and staff was great. Highly recommended trying the food around the area.

They were painting in areas of the house so there was wet paint for a few days and our friends room was un-accessable during the day for 2 days...not a huge deal just inconvenient. Would have liked to have had some notice they were doing that and that the room would not be able to accessed, but again not a huge deal.

The price- quality ratio was good for New Orleans! Surprise - the hotel is 10min walking from the Frenchmen Street so it was perfect to go in the evening, listening some jazz or blues and be back to the hotel! The hotel has two parts: some rooms and the balcony are in the main building upstair the restaurant. In this part, there is a very cute room with chairs, tables, a sofa, a coffee machine and even a toaster - it was a lovely area we used for meals and stretching. The other building is next to it - there were repainting the rooms so now it must be very nice inside! In this one, there is a kitchenette: microwave, refri, small oven, and a sink. In any case, the code is the same so you can use both buildings. We stayed in the main/balcony building. It was very cozy and clean. be aware there are stairs so if you have a big suitcase, it can be a little tricky to arrive to your room (in this case, ask a room in the other building if possible). We didn't have noise issues, but all the rooms were not occupied so I don't know how it is when the hotel is full. Staff was nice and responsive via texts and the booking app. I would totally recommend this hotel and would book there again if I am lucky to return to Nola some day.

The room is small so be aware you won't want to spend a lot of time there. We were outside all day so it was fine but it's good to know. The bed was not very comfortable. There was a blanket - I would have prefered a comforter with a washable cover. We received the check-in codes just before the check-in. It would be nice to receive them the previous day for a smoother check-in.
