December 2022
I read lots of reviews for this hotel and others in the area. Every hotel had positive reviews and negative reviews. I decided on the Jung hotel because of the valet service. Everything at the hotel was wonderful. The check in was smooth and the staff at the front desk was very friendly. I read reviews complaining that the bar at the hotel was not opened and I knew it was closed when I booked my room. This was not a big deal because of you are in New Orleans and you want to go to a bar, there are plenty of wonderful options a short distance from the hotel. Having a pick-up station for the street car right across the street from the hotel is super convenient. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.
I can only think of two things that could have been better. Friday night when we got to the hotel, we had to wait a little while for the valet to get back from parking a car to take mine. But this gave me time to check in at the front desk and get a luggage cart and get everything I needed out of the car. So not a huge deal. The second thing (and this is really a stretch)……not all of the channels on the TV’s guide worked. I would get a “no signal” message or something like that on certain channels. But this is not a big deal. If you are in New Orleans and you’re just staying in your room watching TV and not enjoying the city, you will probably find plenty of things to complain about.

excellent location - a bit further down canal street than the chain hotel but you’ve got the street car stop right outside, and if you want to save some pennies the E1 airport bus stops by the Joy cinema down the street from the hotel. Rooms were big & spacious & modern, with a kitchenette as well which we didn’t realise when booking. Great pillows!
Possibly the slightly longer walk up canal street than for other hotels. The towels in the room where a bit tired and also the hallway light was so bright, sipping through into the bedroom at night. No room service either. Our room safe didn’t work.

The Jung Hotel is clean, spacious and quiet.
Hit or miss as to the restaurant, bar and coffee shop being open. This normally wouldn’t be a problem for us, but we were there over Christmas with the very, very cold weather.

Location is right on canal street. 8 blocks from Bourbon street. It's really nice and clean. The superior king room is the size of an apartment with giant bathrooms!
This is not a complaint but I selected this hotel because the rooftop pool looked amazing. Unfortunately it was closed when I stayed for new years 2022.

When we arrived, I was proud of myself for booking this hotel. It is a great location - near the activity but away from the party noises. It was also across the street from the streetcar station which was a definite plus. The streetcar is a great way to get around the area. I loved the security enforcement of not being able to access the elevator without your room key and that you are only able to select your room floor. There is a trash chute for easy disposal, vending machine, and ice machine on each floor. The rooms were SPACIOUS!! I was on the 3rd floor in a Deluxe Double Room. Big beds, different counter and drawer spaces, recliner chairs, windows for natural light, fridge, and a safe. The bathroom was also spacious with two sinks and the toilet being partitioned away. The shower was nice with a fixed and movable shower heads. Maid service was also nice and if you needed extra towels or garbage bags, you could retrieve them from the front desk. I loved staying at this hotel. It was also across from an emergency room, just in case.
There are no microwaves in the rooms, you had to use it on the 2nd floor. You also had to hold down the toilet button a while for it to flush properly or flush twice - water pressure not powerful enough.

The room was fabulous!! Stylish, clean and most importantly: spacious!!!! It was a very big room, with a desk, places to sit, a huge bathroom, closet space, drawers etc.. We enjoyed the room a lot. The strange thing is that the bed size was small. With all that space in the room, they could easily provide a bigger bed. The extra pillows were appreciated.
You can't open the windows for actual fresh air (not really convenient during covid times). We understand that the pool itself on top is closed due to covid, but at least open the rooftop just to chill with fresh air. Because the room does not have a balcony, does not have windows that can be opened, so to stand outside on the curbside for a bit of air is ridiculous. At least the guests should have access to the rooftop to sit and enjoy, because it is not cheap to stay there. Location was good but still quite a walk to the "better part" of Canal street.

Nice room with a lot of space. Bed was comfortable.
Booking.com showed Superior room as having a view of the city (only difference to a cheaper Deluxe room). But our view was to the ugly inside and a parking garage. Lady at the reception said that was an error in the booking.com data... It is still not corrected there.

The decor was very minimal and chic. The room was HUGH!. including the bathroom. Being able to do laundry for free, including the washing tablet the front desk gave me.. this was a wonderful service, particularly when we had been travelling for 2 weeks. Another fantastic thing is the hotels location... thankfully it is a 5-10 walk or 3 trolly stops away from the madness of the quarter. Lastly... the pool deck was lovely. Lots of lounges and chairs and the pool was a reasonable size. Over all... a great hotel and well worth us staying. Thanks Jung...

The rooms are gigantic, featuring a kitchen, large bathroom and even washing machine and tumble drier! I was very impressed. The bed and pillows are super comfy. Rooms are clean and seem freshly decorated, they are very pretty. Good shower. Very nice and helpful staff. Great location 10-15 minute walk from the city centre.
There is an air extractor in the corridor to the bathroom that sounds like a jet engine. Like, very bad. When I enquired about it, I was told that there were no other rooms and given apologies and ear plugs. It seems the problem has been noticed before, either by staff or customers, as the paint around the vent is peeled, as if someone had tried to tape something on the vent. It is very noisy, and really a shame because the room was perfect otherwise (I'd have given a 10!) If the vent can't be quieter, maybe install a folding door between the corridor and the room so that at least occupiers can sleep in a quiet environment? You need to do something to this room (721).
