La Quinta by Wyndham Slidell - North Shore Area

The facility was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The manager was extremely friendly and accommodated a late check-in.the complimentary breakfast was VERY good! Many selections including fresh waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, juices, eggs, sausage, gravy, grits, toast ,bagels.

I was really looking forward to the hot tub and it was a deciding factor in my choice to book. I have a bad back and knee and was hoping to soak in the hot tub. It was broken when we arrived which was disappointing but I'm reasonable and I do understand things break. It's not management's fault the repairman hasn't come yet. Manager was very sweet and apologized for inconvenience.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. There were also plenty of nice, thick, towels available. Was very pleased that they were dog-friendly!

The breakfast bar was well stocked with a variety of items; however, the mainstay waffle mix was too thin and watery and required extra time to cook. The cheese grits (good to see it on the buffet) was just so-so. It wasn't seasoned at all and I'm not sure what type of cheese was used. The microwave in my room was very old and outdated. The outside green spaces could use some attention. Lots of trash, empty bottles, etc in the area where I walked my dog.

We stayed twice, going and returning to/from the original destination. The consistancy in rooms (both cleanliness and comfort) as well as the nice variety in cold and hot breakfast selections were reasons for our bookings. The professionalism, friendliness and helpfullness of the staff only compounded the facility experiences.

In leaving the motel location, the main road required a u-turn to gain access to the west bound interstate. Not too much difficulty as the times we traveled, traffic wasn't problematic in making this turn.

the staff was superior. especially the day staff checking us in. She was the most helpful and nice person I have encountered on my travels over the past few years. I cannot recall her name unfortunately. She is Africa America and an absolute star for the company.

The bathroom had rusted towel racks and several lights were burned out. The prior guests in the room obviously were to lazy to plug back in several lights they unplugged to use for cellphones and gaming devices. The staff should check those things out , making sure there are lit bulbs and plugged in lighting. To be fair I find the unplugged lighting in most hotel rooms.

They had an assortment of breakfast items each day that were great to get your day started. You did not have to go to a restaurant, order, and wait to be served.

I thought the room was a little dark, and I felt like the mattress protector was a plastic because it felt like you slid around on the bed.

The parking was bad- it didn’t feel well lit and was off the the side. lots of big truck parked everywhere so maneuvering the parking lot was difficult. The entrance to the hotel desperately needed a sign- it took us two try’s to get on the right rode because you had to u-turn and there were not street signs.

This was a perfect location for a 2 night stopover during a several state road trip. The location is right off the interstate (yet the hotel was quiet-no road noise), and Sam's Club and Walmart are literally within walking distance. Fast food restaurants atre available with a less than 15 minute drive to seafood places and old Towne Slidell..New Orleans is about 45 minutes, and easy to get to for a day trip. They do serve a hot breakfast which was wonderful and convenient. (Scrambled eggs, bisquits, sausages, waffles,) with a good selection of yogurt, muffins, cereal and juice. A small outdoor pool was open for guests and was clean. Rooms had a microwave and decent sized mini fridge w/small freezer at the top. Plenty of towels were provided. The ice machine is on the 1st floor only, which kept the 2nd floor hallway quiet at night where I was located. Staff was very helpful with questions, and check-in/check-out was a breeze.

Great location, off the road enough that you don’t hear traffic. Good selection of dining places close and shopping centers as well. safe, well lit.

The bed had a plastic mattress cover on it that made it hot and uncomfortable to sleep. I tossed and turned all night. The lady at the front desk was very short spoken, not rude but not friendly either.

Very nice location, clean (SPOTLESS) room. I will come back to this hotel every month I go through Slidell on the way to Texas. I was truly surprised at how nice it was - you don't find clean rooms often these days, but this hotel was very, very clean! Good breakfast, too - another thing you don't find often.

I like that the they are pet friendly and it didnt cost you your next mortgage. $20 is a good price. And there was lots of grassy areas to walk the dogs.

Everything was great except for our tub and sink wouldnt drain, the did offer to move us to another room for the night after but we were leaving the next day and didn't what to move to another room for that short amount.
