I extremely like the staff. They bend over backwards to help the guests.
The beds need replacement, or at least flipped over. They sink down. Been nursing a back injury since my last stay. It's getting better, but shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Very clean, a walking distance from artists quarter, restaurants near by. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking on site. Very nice room.
Do note that the building is rather old: No lift. The bathroom and shower were really small (I'm 1.83 / 6 ft and had to band down to wash my hair).

The breakfast was basic, but it did include a variety of foods. The coffee was not good and had a bitter taste every day. There were hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, muffins and bagels with peanut butter and cream cheese, along with sweet muffins and doughnuts. Yogurt, string cheese, and croissants rounded out the choices. The staff was caring and helpful, and always friendly and accommodating when needs were addressed.
Coffee, very noisy street traffic on Congress with sirens and loud, heavy trucks with noise seemingly evident at all times. Our room faced the street, so that was not good at all. The levers and handles appeared very loose (room, dresser, and bath), and lighting in room was inadequate. Our housekeeper never emptied our trash until we let the staff know on the fifth day. She also never tidied the room; unsure if she was supposed to smooth the bed so we did, nor replenish the bath toiletries. We kept our room very picked up and clean, but it would have been nice for her to check trash, towel replenishment in room, and maybe quickly vacuum at least once (esp after going to beach and returning with sandy shoes).

We loved the charm of the Inn. The room was beautiful and the bathroom in our room was nice. The staff we interacted with very little but everyone was pleasant to talk with. The presentation of the breakfast areas was well done. Plenty of coffee choices were offered with fresh donuts and bagels and a fruit basket.
I noticed that some of the rooms had bathrooms that were outside their rooms and I was very happy that our room did not have that! Breakfast was available but it was more of a glorified pre packaged continental breakfast. The only protein offered was pre packaged peanut butter and packed hard boiled eggs. Parking in the lot was very limited. I didn't want to leave after we checked in because I was afraid that I wouldn't get a parking spot if we left because there were only 2 available spaces when we got there. The bed was clean and made well, but slightly too firm for us and we didn't sleep well and was woken up at 330 am alarmingly by very loud sirens. I'm assuming from the nearby hospital?

The room was very clean, in regards to the bed I loved the double pillow cased pillows, etc! Also loved the extra little fancy things the cleaning people added to the room. Loved having both a refrigerator and microwave, breakfast and great coffee selections and cookies in the evening. Very special little place to stay at. Also very happy they gave us 2 rooms on the 1st floor!
The room was a bit cramped and there wasn’t much room to hang anything. The staff isn’t the greatest ( don’t seem very interested in talking, giving suggestions or even caring to ask how everything was upon checking out). Also newer beds would be better as the bed was way too hard.

I love this hotel and have come back to stay several times in the last few months. The upstairs where all the rooms can be found is a whimsical little maze and the entire hotel is dog friendly if you are traveling with a pet. Every member of staff that I have interacted with on my visits has been incredibly friendly and helpful. Just be aware that there are some rooms that do not have Bathrooms inside the room. I have not been surprised by booking one of these, but apparently it happens. Absolutely recommend!
Some of the rooms seem to have a smell of damp, freshly cleaned carpets, which wasn’t bad, but not my favorite.

The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, with lots of natural light coming in through the one window. We appreciated the antique decor, and spacious accommodations. There were plenty of electrical outlets, cords for our technology if we needed it. Bathroom was very clean and spacious. The King sized bed had very comfortable bedding on it, The location was not far from the downtown area, walkable and Uber was there in a flash. There were light snacks in the lobby and coffee and breakfast offered in the morning, as well, which is a nice touch and great option to have it included in the cost.
Although the bathroom was spotless, the tiles are very slippery if they get any amount of water on them and a bit treacherous, but we managed by tossing towels on the floor. The King sized bed had very comfortable bedding on it as far as the sheets and bedspread, but the pillows and mattress themselves were not comfortable at all, so we did not get a great nights sleep. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy, so after our one walk, we decided it was safer to Uber the rest of the time, which is fine and not much you can do about that. Overall, we plan to stay here again as we love Portland and want to come often so we are delighted we can do so on a budget and still have a wonderful experience. I will bring my own pillows next time.

Staff very nice. It's a historical smaller building like a real old timey inn, so there are no refrigerators but there is a nice kitchen downstairs for everyone to use. Was very clean with option for private bathroom. Was very nicely decorated like an old inn. Rooms do have kcups and tvs. If you don't need a full hotel experience a room here is perfectly fine.
Really wish I had even a tiny fridge or even a free ice chest. Ended up throwing food away I wouldn't have.

Lovely old-fashioned decor. Very cozy. Offered complimentary coffee, tea, delicious donuts, and other snacks in the lobby all day every day. Everything was very clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location by great restaurants and a short walk to the heart of the city. Amazing value.
The walls of the rooms were a little thin and could hear neighbors occasionally - this wasn’t too much of a problem for me as guests were generally pretty quiet.

The place is charming and the staff is super nice and helpful. Breakfast is basic but enough to go by. Unlimited coffee, snacks and fruits throughout a day was a nice addition. The room we stayed was comfortable and spacious. Though location isn’t in the center, it’s 5-10 minutes ride to the downtown, restaurants and parks
The room we stayed was on the 4th floor steep walk up. I would ask for the lower floor room if I knew. The location is not central but it was expected.
