- Very cool decor - Chic and modern yet retro with all the modern conveniences. Bed (single king) was amazingly comfortable (LOVED) the 12:00 checkout. - Staff was super friendly and helpful. - Rooms and facility were clean.

- The room door required a great amount of effort to open AND CLOSE! Several times during the stay we noticed the door had not closed, as we would have expected it to on its own when we entered or left the room. - The walls must be rather thin as we were able to hear quite a bit in the early hours of the morning, other guests, doors slamming, showers, talking and whatnot. - They must use a very powerful scented cleaner - going downstairs for coffee and breakfast the strong “perfumy” scent quite literally made my eyes water. While not unpleasant, it was very very strong. I was relieved to get back on the elevator and escape!

Location was super convenient, hotel is brand new, very groovy has all what you want in a boutique hotel. Restaurants, bars, shopping all in walking distance.

Affordable Parking options. $35 valet parking in Portland ME (price fluctuates from hotel to hotel) but stays around that price. That is why I will not be staying in down town Portland again. The only other time I stayed in Portland - I got $45 overnight, open air, no security parking lot fee (less than 12 hours) not advertised price! Aloft parking attendants were great - this is a Portland city issue! I guess a way to get money from people who are not residents of Portland. CRAZY!

Location, decor, staff, gym, the room itself were all great.

There was a guest who made & burned toast at 6am, waking up all guests as the fire alarms were set off. It was extremely disorienting, BUT I appreciate that the safety features of the hotel worked. I think it would be better for the guests IF they were not given the opportunity to cause fire alarm situations since the rest of the hotel amenities do a great job of limiting those potential incidents from occurring.

Less rug in the room! Love the open concept feel.

- more towel hooks in the bathroom area, no place to put wet towels to dry - put a rug underneath the jenga space in the bar area downstairs, when it comes falling down it's VERY loud & jarring - put an opaque privacy curtain up behind the blackout curtain (not just the blackout curtain) in the rooms. I want natural lighting during the day AND privacy... not one or the other.

The location was great - just a short walk to the center of Portland. Room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. My room faced the back, so I didn't hear any traffic noise. As a light sleeper I consider this an important point. The staff was polite and helpful and suggested good places to eat. There is no restaurant, but a few steps away is a good Mediterranean (Greek, Lebanese) place. The downtown area, full of restaurants and cafés, is within walking distance. I really recommend this hotel.

One thing that puzzled me is the fact that there was no housekeeping. My daughter and I spent only two nights there, so it didn't matter much. Also there was no breakfast and that's why I didn't rate the facilities very highly. Another thing that could perhaps be improved is the toilet, which made a lot of noise when flushed. However I don't consider these points very important and I would return.

The location is unbeatable, easy to access everywhere we're heading to. The room is super clean and well designed in a minimalism studio style. But all in all, a good choice of comfortable stay in Portland, we will come back the next time!

The minor flaws got the 1 point off were: As for a 3rd floor room, the shower water was quite weak and the temperature was easily affected by other guests usage. The toilet flush was scarily loud, seriously, scary!

Great location, clean room with good space for a couple. If you're lucky, you can get free street parking across from the hotel, if not it's expensive valet or metered parking excluding the weekends (after 6pm on Saturday). No more than a 20 min walk to everything in area.

We lucked out with parking. $35 a night for valet seems excessive but c'est la vie I guess. Lumpy beds/pillows.

We came here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, we loved WXYZ! Everyone was so nice & accommodating! Lindon (sorry if that isn’t spelled correctly) in particular, went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful!!

The only real suggestion I have would be that the house cleaners steam mop the room floors. Ours was sticky and you could tell it had sent been given a good clean in a while.

Very good location by the waterfront, about 5 minutes walk from the heart of the Old Port area. Very stylish room, well appointed for sleeping, working, relaxing. Easy parking albeit not cheap.

Some issues with noisy residents late at night, but this was not really the fault of the hotel.
