The Westin Portland Harborview is a very nice hotel located in the heart of Portland, Maine. It is not far from the interstate, and there are lots of shops, restaurants and historical attractions nearby. On this occasion, we were taking in a play at the Portland Stage, just a block away. After the play, we enjoyed the panoramic view with a nightcap and snacks at the Top of the East, located on the 15th floor. The Eggs Benedict at the C2 restaurant the next morning were cooked perfectly. The staff at the hotel and restaurants were pleasant and attentive, and the valet had our car ready promptly at check out.

Our bed was comfortable, but my wife would have preferred a firmer pillow.

The room was clean, the location is very nice in downtown, and the staff was all helpful from checking in to checking out.

The parking situation is not the best. The parking garage is fine, but the situation of paying for it is not very good. I was told if I used my room key to check out after the 2:00pm time, I could pay the difference on my card. However I was charged $40 to leave the parking garage just 2 hours later on top of the $33 I paid to the hotel.

We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Junior Suite, and found the room comfortable with plenty of space. One of the favorite parts was the shower, it truly was great! The amenities were also fine, with more than adequate gym facilities. Elevators were quick and don't recall really having to wait for one. The staff was friendly and on the few times I stopped by they were always willing to help.

Overall, nothing major to not like. The only thing that was kind of meh was the lighting. I can't speak for all rooms, but at least in ours there was only a light switch in the bathroom and the main light by the door. The other lights throughout the living room and bedroom area were manual. This at times made for a pretty dark room and having to feel your way to a light. ...we managed fine.

Every interaction we had with the reception (check in, check out, asking for additional amenities that we were looking for in our room) was exceptional! The staff was so friendly and quick with all the requests. It really felt personable rather than the usual formal/sterile hotel experience!

The room cleaning schedule seemed very disjointed and different each day, and there didn't seem to be clear messaging on how to indicate what should or should not be cleaned? We would always hang up our towels with the intention that they were not replaced but some days they would be and others they wouldn't be. And then when we would leave towels on the ground to indicate that we were done with them, they would be left on the ground after housekeeping had already come through and cleaned the bathroom.

Great location, comfortable room.

Parking fees were ridiculous (we paid $66.00 for 25 hour stay. We used our car three times). The beautiful rooftop bar closed at 11pm on a Saturday night.

We were very pleased and impressed with the size, comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. The little extras around the room, like extra bottles of water, extra pillows on the beds, scented lavender, clean white towels and a great shower all made our stay very enjoyable. we would definitely stay there again.

The food from room service was awful. We tried to go up to the top floor for drinks and dinner but it was too crowded and we didn’t want to wait the 40 minutes so we ordered room service which was awful. It was too salty and the beet salad tasted funky.

Very well-maintained hotel with a great view of the port. There's an adjacent parking garage with a self-park or valet option, we opted for the self parking, which worked out very well. The hotel has a good restaurant and a lounge on the 15th floor with spectacular views.

Housekeeping was a little bit of a challenge. They missed cleaning our room on the first day. Fortunately, the hotel was very responsive in getting the room cleaned when I pointed out that we were missed. Each day, however, the housekeeping staff seemed to miss something. Nothing major but it was enough to be a little bit annoying. During our most recent stay, the restaurant had a buffet breakfast setup, which was also disappointing. It likely had to do with the fact that there was a small conference there at the same time. However, $18 for a breakfast buffet is not competitive with the surrounding area.

I needed a place to stay with my dog during extremely cold weather while having work done on my apartment. They were very flexible on check in and let me get my room at 830 AM which was a godsend ! As a local I deeply appreciate that flexibility. The room was very clean and the front desk welcoming. I will spread the word that we have a local gem.

No microwave in the room , the hallway and around the elevator had visible gouges and paint chips and needed attention.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.loved the afternoon coffee and snacks.the concierge service and we were upgraded room as an Xmas perk.loved the breakfast staff and enjoyed the parking location also and the valet opportunity.

The sad that there is no pool but gym lovely and clean. Loved having a spa in house,prices competitive with portland .not easy to get ahold of staff by phone but they did respond. We were just would have liked to have had a fan in bathroom and I was disappointed to have to call desk for robe and slippers a lovely perk.Dissapointed in bar one evening when I was served a cold glass of red wine and was told that is was that’s the norm.thats not the correct answer.

The room was clean, spacious and well equipped. The rain-bath shower was a very nice feature. The location was nice. Lots of eating choices and shops nearby. The First Friday Art market was a nice surprise as well.

The matresses were good but not the best we've been on. (we are picky though) and room service/front desk took longer to answer the phone than we would have expected. But when we did get though, everything was taken care of quickly
