Modern room all the latest gadgets multiple USB charges as well as multiple sockets , lights controlled next to bed and dimmable if you wanted to watch the big flat screen tv. lovely bed very comfortable good storage clean comfortable , nice coffee / tea maker choice of coffee decaf etc as well as bottled water all free as well . Great air conditioning , big walk in shower wet room well designed bathroom. staff very polite we left the luggage with the desk on the last day after check out late flight home and we were told as it was so hot we could us showers in the gym to freshen up if needed later that day .

Its a shame there wasn't a fridge would have been nice to have a cold drink when you been out shopping all day but there were plenty of near by shops to get one.

Well positioned hotel just across from the Porter Sq T stop on red line. Very clean and staff welcoming and efficient. Room well equipped with plenty of free water and coffee available plus ice machine in the basement. Bed was large and comfortable and bathroom well equipped with good shower. Hotel was good value in a city of crazy hotel prices and it was really simple to travel into central Boston on the T. Good choice of bars and restaurants in the area (Shine Sq Bar best value and friendliest that we found). Overall a comfortable stay

No fridge in bedroom. no wardrobe to hang clothes as such, just a small rail but no space to hang full length items (plenty of under bed storage space though)

Hotel 1868 is really great! It's right opposite the Porter metro station and there are plenty of restaurants nearby (towards Harvard or Davis Sq). The staff were young and really friendly. My room was fantastic: spacious and modern with an enclosed balcony type window over the street. The bathroom was above average and the bed was comfortable. There was a desk for working and the WiFi was fast. A great stay.

It is such a shame there's no breakfast. You have to go next door to Cafe Nero which is ok, but they only have croissants, juice and coffee which got tiresome during my 6 night stay.

This little hotel was outstanding, one of the best places I have stayed. It is unbelievably clean, not a spec of dust in sight. The staff are so friendly and wave hello with a smile every time you enter! the gym is also HUGE for a smaller hotel, a massive bonus if you are travelling for work and want some routine to your stay without the extra cost of paying for a gym. Location is also fabulous, across the road from the station and shops. I can't rate this place more highly, I would stay again.

Only downside was that the room didn't have a mini fridge. Halfway through the trip I realised that I could have requested a frids and they offered to bring one up to me (which was great) but I didn't like hassling the staff for only one more night. I think that by default it would be great for all rooms to come with a fridge, or to have a message in the room that one can be arranged.

Clean and welcoming modern boutique hotel, lots of natural wood decor in public areas made it feel warm and cosy. The staff were wonderful and attentive. The room was not big by US standards, but as expected. Big comfy bed with storage underneath in large draws for all your stuff. Coffee/Tea machine and water supplied daily. The bathroom was clean with a great shower and toiletries. Modern Air conditioning is efficient and quiet. Highly recommended for a short or longer stay, located across the road from the commuter rail train station and Red line metro giving you quick access to Boston in as little as 15 mins. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance or a short bus ride. The $22 Charlie card gives you seven day unlimited metro/train and bus ticket and is a must for cheap travel in the Boston metro area. We will be back.

No breakfast or food offered or available in the hotel, it is purely a room only basis. Although there is plenty on offer in the immediate area. Not much space to keep your empty luggage in the room.

Hotel 1868 is very close to a train station and not too far from Harvard so you can easily get to places. We adored the Thai restaurant, Sugar and Spice, Cambridge, recommended by one of the helpful receptionists. It was nearby and we ate there regularly as it was relatively cheap with generous healthy serves. There was the facility to make a good coffee in your room and there were plenty of places to buy breakfast, including supplies at a supermarket. We enjoyed staying in a well functioning groovy hotel in a suburb outlying Boston rather than staying centrally.

Accommodation in the US midsummer is expensive everywhere and this stay stretched our budget.

- Absolutely new building. Feels like you are the first person ever staying in the room. - Everything is pristinely clean. - Very helpful and friendly staff, helped with luggage and answered questions. - Humongous, super comfortable bed. - Adequate AC that can easily be completely switched off. - Super thick blinds, so you can sleep even during the day (shoutout to jet lag). - 1 min walking distance to metro station. 2 min walking distance to few cafes. 15 minutes walking distance to Harvard Uni.

Water from the tap and the shower (in the whole building) felt slimy. Either too hard or too soft. In any case, it felt disgusting to take a shower. I have sensitive skin and I had few problems afterwards. This isn't a Cambridge problem. I stayed in few houses around the neighborhood and none had this issue. This problem could be solved by installing filtration system. When this is implemented, this hotel is 10/10.

The location is excellent: Right across the street from the red line station, which takes you non-stop to Harvard, MIT, downtown Boston or the main train station (South Station), and the area (Porter Square, as well as nearby Davis Square) is very enjoyable in itself as well—one of the employees recommended breakfast at Bagelsaurus down the street and I wholeheartedly endorse that recommendation. The bed was very comfortable, facilities were excellent, staff was very kind and helpful. I would definitely try staying here again the next time I'm in Cambridge/Boston.

My only minor issue is that there was no wardrobe for button-up shirts or jackets, but there wouldn't have been space for a wardrobe in the room anyways. However, there were multiple coat hangers on the coat hooks and more than enough drawers in the room for non-hangy clothes (plus a cute bay-window-like area).

Nice hotel, smallish rooms with basic amenities (e.g. no fridge in the room). The business centre in the basement is great for work. But the highlight I'd say is the gym. As far as hotel gyms go, this one is pretty well equipped. The couple of machines they have are versatile and well thought out. And the dumbells go heavy enough to do serious workout. The location is really convenient right across the Porter station and a short walk (or bus ride) from Harvard.

Really perfection. Location so central right in front of the metro stop.. superb quality price ratio. Amazingly kind staff. Cleanliness top. The shower and bathroom all modern. Very very professional and comfortable mattress. Great coffee and tea and brewing machine in the room. As much coffee as you want upon request. Good wifi. My friend came to visit and they were kind to let him park for free (he is a local and couldnt believe it). Post customer service immediate help upon request. What else can you ask for? Would not stay anywhere else in cambridge in the future!

Sincerely nothing.
