The cabin is a great place to stay when visiting Yellowstone National Park by car. There’s free parking right in front of the cabin. You can reach the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park in approximately 3-5 minutes (about 1 mile). The cabin is spacious, though it has a small bathroom. It comes with a fridge and a coffee maker, so you can make tea and coffee in your cabin. You can also enjoy snacks like M&M's and nuts in the office. In the morning, there are muffins and pastries available. The staff is friendly and always ready to help, offering extra blankets if you need them. There’s a supermarket and many restaurants nearby, all within walking distance.

The refrigerator was a bit noisy, but earplugs helped to block the sound. Everything else was fine.

Very cute quaint cabin. A little small but so comfortable we didn't mind staying in room. Bed very comfortable, slept great. Modern refrigerator and bathroom - immaculate, no bugs, new appliances. Thermostat worked well. Frigerator was big and adjustable thermostat that worked really well. Close to West entrance of park within 5 min. Far enough away from main part of town where shopping, traffic, tourists are so very quiet but close enough to walk. History of cabin interesting and very nice staff.

Small room, the Madison, that had to put luggage and coolers, bags next to one side of bed so had to crawl out end of bed to get out. No closet but had shelf with underbar to hang clothes. Only has bedside tables and outside small patio table, nothing else. Parking so small that barely fit our Lexus sedan.

I love a good boutique hotel and this property is well-maintained, clean, in a great area (3 min drive to the West park entrance) and intimate. It has all the basics: free pastries/coffee in the AM, fridge (not freezer) in the room, decent water pressure, water refill station, parking, etc. The staff member for check-in and every morning was kind and helped however he/she could. The location was excellent: within walking distance to dine nearby, shop for souvenirs, buy snacks for the room/hiking. Would stay here again!

There were some disruptive guests (one in particular) who would often be loud right outside the rooms. One morning, a fellow guest took a 4am phone call which was so loud that it sounded like she was in the room with us! It's an issue of common courtesy so not necessarily the fault of the hotel, though it would be helpful to have signs up asking guests to be quiet during these times when others are trying to sleep.

This property was delightful! The cabin was beautiful and comfortable--rustic and cozy. Its original history as a 100 year old Yellowstone army cabin was very special. It was carefully restored/renovated, preserving much of the original look whenever possible. While the floors were replaced, the original wood was used as a small hearth for a faux fireplace heater, the headboards, as well as for the double sink cabinet in the bathroom. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The touches like complementary water and a welcome note in the room, and complementary snacks in the lobby, were wonderful. Housekeeping services were great. It was obvious that the staff cared about and took the effort to provide an excellent experience for their guests.

Room was very cute and quaint! They staff was extremely friendly, cleaned the room each day and left little notes about the weather. They had coffee/snacks every day should you need a little pick-me-up for the road (we would get snacks to take into Yellowstone). It was just a lovely few days staying here.

There is limited parking, but some days the spot in front of our room was taken - would be nice to label them for people to have assigned spots.

Small but perfectly thought out rooms. It doesn’t advertise breakfast but serves morning coffee and snacks in reception which were a good start to the day. Great for Yellowstone Park. Good value relative to other accommodation options. Staff very responsive after we left a charger in the room and we managed to get it back.

Recently (?) installed air con units are really noisy - why on earth anyone was using them with the night temperature in the 40s is a mystery.

The staff was so wonderful! Everyone was extremely welcoming, kind, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and decorated nicely and had everything one could need. We stayed in the “small” room but it had more than enough space for us and none of the details were missing. This was the most comfortable bed on the trip for us! It was perfect walking distance to shops and restaurants in town and only a couple minutes from the Yellowstone West entrance! We would stay at Elkhorn or the sister property, Evergreen, again! We also saw two hummingbird moths enjoying the flowers in front of our room in the evening which was really cool!

With this type of property the parking lot is small, so if you have a very large vehicle or a trailer it could be challenging to park in the lot. Our SUV fit fine.

Elkhorn exceeded my expectations! I stayed in the Yellowstone cabin, and it was clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the handwritten welcome notes and the daily cards with the weather forecast and sunrise/sunset times. The coffee and small pastries in the lobby each morning were also a plus. It’s located on a quiet street, so I didn’t hear any street noise; but it’s still within walking distance of the restaurants/shops on Canyon St. I would definitely stay here again the next time that I’m in the area.

When we arrived to check in the staff were very friendly. We got to our room and it was very clean and there was a hand written note from the staff, very thoughtful! The location is perfect. Just outside of the busier areas of west Yellowstone, so it’s walking distance from all of the attractions, but also nice and quiet!

The parking situation is a little tight but I had no issues with finding a spot during our stay.

Receptionist was great and the room was very comfortable.

Parking was a bit tight and I was confused as to which space should have been mine. I ended up pulling into the only space available, in the corner, and one of the adjacent cars was parked slightly over the line. If the car going the straight in way had been over the line, I would not have been able to slide in like I did, basically by a hair on both sides.
