Courtyard by Marriott Newark Downtown

the room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The hotel was in a convenient location near the venue we were going to. Staff was also friendly and professional.

Parking prices do not match what the actual price states online.

It was a very nice property, and I would definitely stay there again if I was visiting the Prudential Center. It’s unfortunate that the city of Newark (or State of NJ) doesn’t invest money to make the area around the Prudential Center an attractive tourist destination. There really isn’t much to do within walking distance of the hotel. We did some exploring, but the area was getting sketchier with each passing block, and there wasn’t anything worthwhile seeing in a half mile in either direction of the hotel. Having said this, the hotel and staff were both very nice, so as I said, I’d stay there again.

Quiet, although room was facing the street. I was disappointed that the bistro didn't have dinner like the website suggested, but breakfast was delicious. Location was perfect, near many restaurants for Uber eats, etc. Staff was super friendly. Overall, it was a great stay!

Parking was expensive and being next door to the Prudential Center was a pain because of the traffic due to events. There was also alot competition for the elevators in parking lot becsuse it is shared with the public, we had to walk with our bags to the elevator on the 5th floor, then go down to the 1st floor then walk up to the second floor to get to the lobby of the hotel. It was a bit inconvenient.

The location to the venue was #1. The skywalk entrance to the venue. Being able to see the bands tour buses. When we needed to hang out in the lobby no one was pressuring us to leave or asking what we were doing there. We were able to charge our phones and just have some quiet time in lobby before our trip home( and an unexpected 2nd night show of My Chemical Romance band. We added another night and the person at desk let us stay in the same room for the 2 days I actually had booked before arriving.( I asked so we wouldn't have to pack up and unpack in a different room.) Loved the snacks and drinks at the front desk area.

The 24 loud noise from the street. Constant sirens from emergency vehicles, people yelling, excessive car horns was horrible. The walk to the entrance( around the far side of the block) of the venue was pretty sketchy as well. Wished there was breakfast included as well.

The room was very comfortable, especially the AC on a hot weekend. The location was also convenient; I was able to walk to Newark Penn Station, the Newark Museum of Art, and plenty of restaurants. I think it was a decent place to stay for an event at Metlife Stadium.

Nothing big to complain about, but the lobby was very warm and the toiletries in the room were just sufficient. If you're traveling by train, budget a little extra time to navigate Newark Penn Station, since wayfinding there isn't the best.

The hotel was clean and nice centrally located. They were quick to respond to my concerns for correction.

There is no elevator/escalator from the parking facility to the main Floor To check in. Therefore my Roll aboard Baggage had to be hand carried up the steps. Some type of automated lyft should be provided. Also 3 of the pillows were down filled and I'm allergic to down. Since the most of hotels have moved away from down To hypoallergenic pillows, , didn't realize it because one of my pillows was actually polyfill. Was unaware The rest were down until I became congested.

The room was nice and clean and the staff were helpful and the room was always serviced appropriately.

Prudential center events can get in the way of parking but as long as you plan ahead you are ok. I would recommend staff warn guests of those days in advance. Other than that the garage was awesome and I felt my vehicle was safe.

It was perfect for seeing a concert at the Prudential Center! If you stay at this hotel, you literally don't need to go outside to get to the prudential center because they have a connecting bridge that you can walk through. You do have to pay for parking, like many other places in the area, but with the hotel's parking tag you can come and go without having to pay extra each time.

Loved the hotel and staff friendliness. Was easy to commute to the Newark Penn station to go to NYC (Manhattan) as that was the main purpose of our visit. Room was great and food was good too. Only issue was that the location was not the best after dark but we always used Uber to get right in front of the hotel so it didn't affect us.

Location after dark was a bit shady.

We attended a concert at the Prudential Center which is literally attached to the Courtyard by Marriott. The convenience of not having to worry about driving out of there after the concert was THE BEST! Would definitely feel comfortable doing this again! Service was great, bed was super comfortable and the place was clean. We ended up eating breakfast at the IHOP two blocks away.
