If you're OK with the share-house concept, and can negotiate stairs easily, this will suit you well. George is a very considerate host, and extended a warm welcome. Location is fabulous, what a pleasure just walking around the neighborhood. Great spots to eat and shops nearby. And ideal for visits to Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum

If you are looking for a house with soul, you have come to the right place. We spent one week here with my mom and we will remember it for a long time. We really appreciate George's care, the delicious vegan food, the local coffee, the amazing organic cosmetics he offers his guests, you will really feel at home here soon. We really liked the community way George offers his house, he himself provides his guests with a lot of things for free and freely, but he emphasizes their responsibility towards the common areas and other guests, which is really great. Of course the house has its age and its associated minor ailments, such as creaky floors and doors, shared bathroom, but these are all part of the overall authentic Brooklyn experience :-)

Lovely, walkable neighborhood, convenient to subway and Atlantic Terminal -- lots of nice restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. Nice old building with lots of original details (parquet floors, marble fireplace both in our room and the kitchen, ornate plaster moldings, beautiful antique tiles in bathroom) -- not pristinely redone, but everything perfectly clean and comfortable, with new mattress and big flat screen TV. Great big bedroom.

No coffee in kitchen, only multiple varieties of tea and hot chocolate -- but great cappuccinos at the bakery cafe a few blocks away.

Bathroom was clean and equipped with convenient free hygiene products and bright the bedroom was commodious and had eclectic unique and enchanting furniture with abundant health literature and emphasis on health lifestyle tastefully displayed, There are two kitchens available to the patrons and well prepared for breakfast and meals.Home away from home atmosphere as Mr Gittens amaibly and thoughtfully makes himself available to all to address what they need or want. He has a gracious accommodative atitude.

There are two bathrooms in the building available to all.There are times when bathroom may be occupied because it is in use longer than expected and the waiting time can be intense as needs may be urgent.This is certainly the exception to the rule.

Great vegan and vegetarian options provided. High quality natural toiletries available.

Not a problem for me, but it is a 3 floor walk up brownstone. It would not be a good choice for mobility impaired folks. But still had grab bars in the shower, which was good. Also handheld shower head to help get you squeaky clean. George is super accommodating and friendly- couldn't ask for a kinder host. Love the touches like antique furniture and glassware. Great use of space- full kitchen on first floor and bonus full tiny kitchen on third floor!

The host is very hospitable and attentive to detail. The brownstone is located on a beautifully treelined street full of iconic brownstones. The interior was thoughtfully organized, meticulous, and clean. The home has good karma and positive vibes. I loved the size of the space and comfort of the beds. Toiletries, slippers, coffee, fruit…. everything you need is generously provided. Wonderful approach to hospitality.

It’s one of the most structurally beautiful brownstones I’ve ever stayed in. All the lovely things you expect from a BK brownstone - high ceilings, glass doorknobs, large windows, beautiful wood flooring, etc. But George’s touches made it a cozy, warm, artful and wonderfully eclectic/quirky place to rest your head and feel like you’re staying with friends. My son and I slept in a spacious room with two queen beds, dressers, a small work/eating table and a tv/vcr/cable/dvd/wi-fi tech set-up. We had plenty of room to move around each other and the beds were very comfortable. The shared spaces included one of the biggest and most beautiful bathrooms I’ve ever seen. It was well stocked and had extras of just about everything you may have forgotten - including bathrobes. The shower included a safety bar (which was a Godsend for me, having moderate to severe mobility issues.) The kitchen was huge, with a 4-6 seat table and charmingly retro appliances. While the fridge is modern and there’s a Kuerig, there’s no microwave-and George explains his reasons for that. The kitchen is also stocked with heaping supplies of coffee, hot chocolate and tea K-cups as well as mixers, alkaline water, fruit, and snacks. There’s also a balcony off the kitchen where you can chill and rows of books and giveaway shoes (that’s correct lol) tastefully line the main hallway. A set of travelers’ guides to Brooklyn greet from a small table in the foyer. Helpful, notes from George are ubiquitous throughout the place- a reflection of his thoughtful, detail oriented personality and welcoming spirit. Simply put, we felt very much at home and I, personally, felt that I’d already moved back to Brooklyn-which I plan to do in about a year. George and his lovely, nostalgic home, on a beautiful and ideally located block in Clinton Hill reinforced my already deep love for Brooklyn and all it offers.
