Hyatt Place Long Island City

This was a trip for my parents and I headed they were treated very good. I’m really happy if this news since it can be tricky to know what kind of experience they would have. they mention the room was very big and I would definitely book again.

It was clean, staff was great. thank you for everything.

Great location, close to three subway stations and very comfortable rooms. We stayed at his hotel in April 2023 as a family of 3 and wanted three beds so finding a room with two doubles and a sofa-bed was very welcome. We didn’t feel at all unsafe in this neighbourhood and was very pleased with our stay for the entire week. Would only recommend a bit more variety in the breakfast and maybe extend the breakfast to finish at 10 o’clock rather than 9, but this is me nitpicking as there was plenty of it and set you up for the day ahead.

The hotel itself is great, however there is a lot of building work going on in this neighbourhood that sometimes you could hear the works going on outside. Absolutely not a criticism of the hotel and not a great deal they could do about it but something to consider. It does however show that there is a lot of investment going into this area so a generally good place to stay.

Breakfast room far too small - that's been really troublesome! Breakfast assortment typical for budget hotels in the US: food variety is just okay-ish and food does its job but its nothing special. Fun part: a sign at the bar says "proudly serving Starbucks Coffee"... well, rather watery brown something. Overall breakfast had still been okay and the great staff members around perfectly kept everything clean and refilled - well done, thanks!

The hotel was very clean, close to several subway stops. Our room was very quite and the bed was very comfy. The room is smaller than a standard European hotel room but I guess that is expected in New York. We did fit well even if it is a bit smaller than I am used to.

The breakfast was a little weird, as there were only plastic cups, plates, cuttlery (ironically saying "eco choice" as it is paper based?). For paying 200+$ per night would be nice to eat from regular plates and not feel like you are camping. The breakfast choices were limited but food tasty. Therw could be a bigger dining area, and breakfast last longer than 9am (on a weekday).

The location was great. You can get the hotel by the 7, N and R trains (Queensboro Plaza) and the E train (Queens Plaza and Court Sq) from the airport. The staff was super helpful and the room had enough space and very cleaned. I was a 1.5 mile away from Gantry Plaza State Park which is a great spot for walking, running and spending some spare time.

I missed a water fountain for the guests but the staff from kitchen were really kind and help me to refill my water bottles

In spite of the small size of the hotel it still has a bar and restaurant with basic but good quality offerings the rooms are fairly large and extremely comfortable location of the hotel is good, short walk to some good restaurants and bars

Its small lobby and common areas, wish it had a little more space also, if you get a room at lower level, there is noise from cars speeding up and down the bridge adjoining the property

It was clean. My fifth floor room did not have any bugs, something that concerns me in densely populated locations. Front desk worker was pleasant. Bring earplugs, the windows do not block out much noise. The area was safe and you can tell it's been built up recently with newer hotels and a modern greenspace. Breakfast is standard. Some kind of egg, meat, potato product along with bread, fruit, yogurt, cereal.

Cheese omelets were weird, seemed like they used velveeta or "Cheez-whiz" liquidy orange stuff so the omelets were slippery and squeaky- didn't like that. Shower pressure and maximum water temperature were the worst I've encountered, good for conserving water though. Some kind of vending area would be great, especially if staff is taking a phone call or dealing with other guests, you have to wait to get a drink and charge it.

The room was spacious for 5 adults. The bathroom was a good size with a shower and bath. Well decorated room with facilities for tea and coffee. Room was always well cleaned and the beds were made. 24 hour service at reception. Close to subway into Manhattan. Friendly staff.

Would have liked a greater variety of food at the complimentary breakfast. For a stay of ten nights, it was a lot to eat the same food again and again. Some of the food wasn't properly defrosted and often ran out of bagels/bread. Would have liked to see more reusable plates and cups at breakfast- not great they were all disposable.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel! As someone who travels weekly for business and has stayed in many many many hotels all over the world, this is a home from home. Second time staying, this time with an infant baby and it all worked perfectly! Great location, staff and facilities. Perfect little breakfast too. Will be back :-)

Breakfast time can be a little ‘busy’ and crowded, tables taken very quickly.

Very clean. Organized check-in, Comfortable room and bed. Good seating / tables in the lobby to sit with friends and enjoy drinks. Outstanding location for travel to and from Manhattan via cab, Uber or subway.

Limited parking with tight spaces. We had difficulty getting towels for all 3 of us in the room. Breakfast during pandemic was disappointing by Hyatt Place standards.
