The location is superb. Close to everything, but not in the crazy bustle of downtown. The property is beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is nearly gourmet (chef's choice, each day but they accommodate food allergies/limitations), and the service is wonderful. It was a very nice way to start the morning. The rooms all have a private bath (note - most have a beautiful pedestal or claw foot tub, but they have a few options for a stand alone shower, so if that is an issue, you have to look at the details or call for info). The patio was amazing at any time of the day. We had excellent choices for food (including a several Breweries) within a mile, it was very close to the entrance of The Biltmore, and only a couple of miles from the Greenway (walking/biking path along the river) and River Arts District. We really enjoyed our stay!
There is no elevator, and most of the rooms are on the second or third floor, so please be aware.

Our family of 7 enjoyed our recent stay at Cedar Crest Inn. It is very conveniently located less than 2 miles of downtown Asheville The 2 course breakfast was excellent ! Shout out to excellent hospitality from Arthur :) The evening treats of cookies and snacks was also a nice touch We were surprised (pleasantly) to see Mama bear and 4 of her cubs strolling through the grounds during our stay-we are told its an occasional occurrence. We were able to watch them from the safety of our room. The only issue we had during our stay--(one of our rooms was the 2 bedroom /1 bath Cottage) was the bathroom could not be locked on one side-the lock was not functional on one door Apart from that inconvenience we had a great stay
The bathroom that failed to lock from one side

The house is absolutely beautiful - full of old world charm and gorgeous features with large open fires, beautiful wood panelling, stained glass windows and an impressive staircase. The staff were lovely, being friendly and welcoming. Breakfast differed daily and were very tasty. Great location with the bus easy to get to and from town if you don't want to take the car.
The bedroom was charming unfortunately the bed, which looked inviting, was extremely creaky and made having a restful night impossible. If this can be sorted the bed would be wonderful. The bathroom was cute but having a shower in the roll-top bath was slippery and very easy for someone to have a fall. An anti slip matt in the bath is needed.

The location is perfect; close to downtown Asheville's shops & restaurants I was actually disappointed with both breakfasts this time (last year's stay was great breakfast- diff chef) The first one was a 'BLT' benny. I didn't think that lettuce (and sprouts) went with eggs. The toast was way too crispy to even cut and difficult to eat. The second breakfast I was surprised to find that it started with a Greek salad?? Once again, lettuce at breakfast. They had 3 carrot cake pancakes. Too smothered in the whipped butter. The bacon pieces were very small. I wished that I could've asked for eggs.
Lettuce at both breakfasts Offer choices if serving pancakes (something with protein and not flour) The chef & Taylor were too loudly talking and laughing in the kitchen while we, the guests, were trying to have a quiet, enjoyable breakfast.

Everything was simply wonderful. Our check-in was later than their standard time and they were so accommodating from the very start of our stay. The house is stunning and beautifully maintained. There's construction on the wrap-around porch but it's necessary in a home that's about 130 yrs old. I can't wait to see it completed! (I live in a historic home and love to see these older beauties alive and thriving!) As a history nerd, this appealed to every one of my senses! The staff was fantastic! Breakfast was delicious. Even the Christmas decorations were tastefully adorned and inviting. I will definitely be booking here again and have already begun telling all who will listen about this little gem!
The driveway was a little tricky to navigate but that was to be expected and in no way diminished my opinion of this beautiful B & B.

I loved this b and b, the house was much more beautiful than I had thought and the way the property is set up you feel like you are out in the country rather than right off a main road (best of both worlds). The staff were wonderful and made a to-go breakfast for me the first morning with homemade granola. If you are a fan of staying in historic homes with charm and atmosphere this is the perfect place. They also have a variety of rooms at different price points.

Outstanding building - on the national historical list. It was really a treat to see and experience a stay here. The room was very nice - clearn, comfortable, well appointed. And the staff were very good!! The location couldn't be better - near downtown, Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway - all nearby. We stayed in the Serenity Suite in the lower level. Very quaint - loved the fireplace since it got chilly!
The price is premium - but so are the facilities. We splurged for a special event and happy with our decision. Older people should know that there are quite a few stairs to enter the facility.

The Cedar Crest Inn exceeded all expectations. I was amazed at the Inn's beauty and how cozy and comforting it felt. The breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had on a vacation in my life.
I have little to no criticism at all of this Inn. It is an old, historic building so it pops and creaks some at night but that is normal and not a big deal. We could hear the people next to us anytime they used their shower but again not a big deal.

Our family enjoyed staying at Cedar Crest Inn very much! it was exceptional in every way! We were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable host. Our breakfast meals were excellent. Every room was tastefully decorated and spotless. Beds are very comfortable. We would definitely stay at property on next visit!
We could only use roku for streaming. The cable tv wouldn’t connect so unable to watch local news/weather. No one seemed to be able to correct issue.

I would definitely recommend to stay at Cedar's Crest Inn. Located on a higher part of the city, one has a nice view and little trouble with street noices. The staff is doing everything to make guests feel comfortable. In the common room downstairs the wood stoves (gasbased) can be lit whenever you want. Around midday they provide you will find a glass of wine or cookie. It felt like home.
It is not easy to find something that is wrong or missing. Maybe providing two options for breakfast? In case you don't like a warm meal for breakfast. There is no buffet, the breakfast is being brought to the table. The staff does ask for allergies or other preferences though, so there is some flexibility!
