Love the ambiance including the great music from the era. Staff is wonderful, especially Louise at the front desk who is always so professional efficient and thoughtful . And James who can offer a wealth of information about the history of the property and the area. Great breakfast and fresh hot coffee which is always appreciated.

On this stay the bar lobby had been rearranged with what we sincerely hope is temporary furnishings. The original arrangement was perfect so here is hoping it was just out for cleaning! This part of the hotel has always been a favorite part of the whole experience and was so cozy and inviting. Looking forward to it returning!

Beautiful building centrally located within University Circle allowing short walks to sites and restaurants. Very friendly staff and a clean and well decorated hotel. Breakfast is not bad at all and plentiful. We'll stay again when we are back in the area.

Quite a few hidden fees. $12 per night to park on-site, State, County, and City taxes plus a small charge to pay by Visa card! We were allowed to park there after checking out, while visiting the nearby Botanical gardens and eating lunch, before we left offsetting some cost. As with many accommodations nowadays, no daily room service. Fresh towels and ancillary items are readily available, just ask.

So nice, we stayed an extra night... The atmosphere and the fact that it was break from the 'McStandard' chain hotels. From the moment we laid eyes on the place we fell in love. And for every step we took inside, there was something to love and appreciate. It reminded me of a place I imagined in an Agatha Christie novel. Located in University Circle, it's just minutes away by walking, to some of the most beautiful buildings and museums as well as Little Italy and other areas with a great selection of restaurants. The Historical Glidden House is by far, one of the best places I have had the privilege of staying. It would kill me if this place was ever taken over by a chain hotel.

The location in a peaceful, leafy district near museums, botanic gardens and university was perfect. Proximate to all Cleveland has to offer, yet it felt like a retreat. The lounge and dining room had so much historic ambience. Room was spacious, perfectly clean, and beds were very comfortable.

To be honest, I felt like the breakfast quality was sub-par despite the beautiful presentation on silver trays and chafing dishes. The scrambled eggs were definitely powdered; the coffee, even while served in elegant silver containers, tasted like instant; and there was no fresh fruit of any kind. Walnuts for oatmeal topping tasted stale. I was surprised, as the display was lovely. But if you removed the pretty presentation and set this out on the counter at your standard Days Inn, it would not have been much different. This was the only downside, but given the ambience of the hotel and the price we paid, I expected better.

Glidden House is located within walking distance of several museums (unfortunately closed during our very brief stay) and the lovely Case Western RU campus. We walked to (very) little Italy for a nice dinner and enjoyed walking around the campus after a long drive. The Glidden House was clean and comfortable. Our room was very large with ample room to spread out. The breakfast was an upgrade from typical fare including scrambled eggs, yogurt, scones, bacon, muffins and fresh fruit. The only downside was the hot water for tea was luke warm, but I'm sure if I alerted one of the nice ladies tending to the food they would have remedied quickly. The front desk was helpful providing recommendations. My booking reservation included parking and I did need to remind the front desk after they charged parking to my credit card - but it was quickly removed without any hassle.

Louise, your EXCELLENT concierge/welcomer/front desk captain made us feel extremely welcome. She was able to accommodate an early check in for us. She recommended the best restaurant choices for our group. She answered all our questions. She gave us clear instructions about parking and allowed us to park at the Glidden lot while we enjoyed the Cleveland Art Museum. She made us feel welcome and would be a reason for us to return. The two women working the breakfast rooms were great. One was very helpful about helping us know where to put the steam tray lids when we were serving from those steam trays; One was a friendly, walking encyclopedia about the Glidden House, Cleveland, and the immediate neighborhood.

The food. We always love to enjoy breakfast, but the buffet was flat: * scrambled eggs were over set and hard * sausages were taste free -- overprocessed * melon pieces were spoiled * coffee beans were sub par, making weak coffee * tea was undrinkable because hot water container had previously held coffee -- so the water tasted like coffee * bread was dry, even before toasting

The location is fantastic. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was very generous, though I would have preferred the option of real bacon or sausages. The turkey bacon was limp. The common areas are beautiful. Love the bar! The room was very comfortable. It was quiet.

My one big complaint was that there was a plumbing problem in the morning and we had no water to take a shower or brush our teeth! I understand such things happen but no one informed us of the problem nor tried to accommodate us, like provide some bottled water. No apologies either!! Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and gave us a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant. I also found the beds were too soft for my taste.

The hot oatmeal was excellent and i liked the self-serve juices. the rooms were big, quiet and clean. The gentleman who helped when we arrived was very nice and gave good advice about restaurants.

The eggs were rubbery and barely warm, heated plates would help. We would prefer a sugar-free yogurt option. The decaf coffee was not very good either. I do not eat flour so none of the baked goods worked for me though my husband enjoyed them. Perhaps a bowl of fresh fruit would have been nice to go with the unsweetened yogurt.

The property was a historic gem. Love the area where it resides. The breakfast nook was beautiful. Outdoors eating area with lovely flowers everywhere. The Art museum walking distance, botanical gardens, just beautiful scenery. Didn’t get a chance to walk around because of the schedule already made out. Will go back to visit just to relax and chill with Hubby. Took my granddaughter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Cleveland Zoo! Had a great adventure for the short time we were there.

The only down fall is that it did not have a little micro wave or refrigerator.

Location is ideal for walking to the Cleveland Museum of Art and to the Botanical Gardens. Food was nearby as well, so I was able to walk anywhere needed, even to the Little Italy area.

The internet was down when I was there. I can work by setting up a hotspot for cell service so this wasn't a huge problem, but it did cause the the hotel bar to close so I was not able to relax with a cocktail after a long day without leaving the hotel. The are around the bar was lovely, so I was looking forward to lounging while reading and getting some work done. Not quite sure how the internet is related to the bar other than payment. It seems that could have been worked around...
