Beautiful place and plenty of history throughout the mansion. Each room is unique and decorated in a certain theme.

They can do a better job at keeping the breakfast warm and the quality of the coffee was underwhelming. The fresh fruit plate was excellent. I had problems connecting to their Wi-Fi on multiple occasions. I think they need to upgrade their router to allow more connections. Finally, the elevator is painfully slow so most people use the stairs. Unfortunately, that creates a lot of noise given the stairs are a beautiful hardwood (but should probably be carpeted)

This venue is perfection! From the moment we entered the driveway, we were super impressed with the home itself and the grounds. Everything is immaculate, and that's no small feat for a historic building. The reception was friendly and inviting, and the home itself is just gorgeous. The hot buffet breakfast was more than we expected and perfect to start each day. We walked around the house several times, just exploring and enjoying the place. Our room was huge and very comfortable. We truly felt like we were guests in a beautiful mansion.

Steele Mansion is beautifully restored. The rooms are wonderfully appointed - the attention to detail is amazing. There are many places to sit and relax, but our favorite was the second one floor balcony. The location is convenient...easy in and out. Truly lovely. One evening one of the staff helped us warm up some leftovers from area restaurants...very helpful.

The breakfast was okay, and there was coffee available in the bar throughout the day. I would have liked some fresh fruit. Maybe even a Continental Breakfast option delivered to the room - meat, cheese, rolls, croissants,hard boiled eggs,fruit...just a thought.

What an absolute gem! "It's like a museum but better because you can touch stuff" (as per the wonderful owner). We arrived and it was just a stopover for our road trip. I found this place online and it looked awesome... and then you arrive, it is so much more than that! The history, the attention to all detail in all the rooms and the common rooms, it was mind blowing! How do we know what the other rooms are like? Well, rooms not occupied are open to the hotel guests, and every room has an historic theme, not the Disneyesque type, but real historic feel with real old stuff! Wonder around, do it, we LOVED it. I do not know how the owner pulled this off but this is the one hotel I will remember forever. OK, beds are very very comfy, breakfast very nice, the hotel bar is a thing of beauty. Just go here, my husband and I traveled a lot, been to a lot of historic places (we are European) but I have to say, the fact that you can wonder around, the attention to detail, this hotel takes the cake. We did not expect this... we loved it. Just go here, it is not just a bed in a hotel, it's an experience!

The Steele Mansion is probably the most beautiful place I have stayed in while traveling. The place was incredibly clean, not sure how they keep it that clean, and beautiful!! You could spend an entire day just wandering through the mansion and seeing all the history it holds. The staff was amazing in every way and made our anniversary trip enjoyable. The owner is knowledgeable about the area and for such a small town, there is tons to do. We will be making this a regular trip for our anniversary. Thanks so much for the wonderful stay!

Nothing!! Everything was amazingly perfect!!

The Steele Mansiion is so unique. You could go 10 times and still not see all of the little details in every room. If you like history, art, glass, architecture, or just want to an experience, this is the place to get that. The buffet breakfast was delicious and it was even better with the fireplace going in such a unique basement floor. Our peacock hotel room was well appointed and the bed was beautiful and comfortable. The on-site bar was a nice addition because we were able to get a drink and enjoy it on one of the three areas with rocking chairs. It was a lovely end to the evening.

The bathroom was gorgeous and had a classic tib and shower. The only issue was that the bathroom was cold because of the tile floor and ceramic tub. It wasn't that big of a deal, but good to know so you can bring slippers for the bathroom.

Our stay at the Steele Mansion far exceeded our expectations. We were still discovering more about it even when we were ready to check out. The staff was so helpful and courteous, made us feel like family. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of breakfast delights to choose from. I definitely want to visit there again...I felt like a Princess!

Location was excellent. It was like living in a museum--antiques everywhere, so much to look at in various rooms, fascinating.

Breakfast was plentiful but nothing spectacular. Same food each time. The king sized bed had 8 pillows and a fancy throw pillow, but we would gladly have swapped several of the pillows for stronger bedside lighting--we both like to lie down and read after hours driving.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Breakfast was good, with a variety that would satisfy most people. I really enjoyed being able to walk through the uncooked rooms and see all the antique.

The one thing is that there is no microwave in the rooms. This could be to minimize the load on the electrical system. But would have been handy as we stayed for a week and there is only breakfast offered.

Love the atmosphere, the coziness of the rooms, the individual attention to details.

Loved everything, but was disappointed that the fireplace in our room was fake. I chose the room because it had a fire place and was disappointing it didn’t say it was fake in the description. But everything else was awesome. Just wish the fireplace was a real electric or gas fireplace.
