Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. We parked in the lot across the street and had our back window busted open and items stolen. Glass all over lot from other vehicles as well. I alerted hotel to let people know to avoid parking anywhere in that area. There are still boarded up areas and human feces on the sidewalks. I feel safer in 3rd world countries. Portland has turned into a dump!

The hotel is pretty stylish and in a great walkable location. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was awesome. The beds have built in chargers and nice side tables for holding your things. The robe in the room was also super cozy. I utilized the fitness center which had a good variety of machines, equipment, etc, all very clean and up to date. Staff were friendly and courteous.

This is my hotel pet peeve. PLEASE put a large carafe of ice water in your lobby. I hate relying on buying bottled water as it is expensive, wasteful and bad for the planet. The water dispenser in the fitness center was also extremely slow and it seems like it needs to be fixed. Lastly I think the room could have had an extra rug or two over the concrete floors. The valet parking is extremely expensive (I think $47 a night overnight, less for in and out day time, but still pricey). We were able to just use street parking, free parking on Sunday in the area, and probably spent less than $15 on parking for having a car on a Saturday at noon to Monday at noon.

I enjoyed two mornings in the cafe where Annie waited on me and we became friends. She was amazing, remembered what I had to drink the first morning and brought it to me when I came in the next morning. She didn't rush me, It was really nice to sit there before the others in my group were up. She was so hard working, friendly and welcoming. The front desk clerks were all very nice. The bed was very comfortable, nice linens.

I liked the idea of the Kourig coffee maker in the room but since I don't drink coffee I think a different assortment of tea or a cocoa would be nice. There was one green tea. nice English breakfast tea would be nice. Not my favorite decor, but that's just me....

The staffs were super! Especially whren we checked in 2 days ago when temperature in Portland was below freezing. We were greeted by Anthony at the front desk. Anthony was extremely helpful and very efficient. The check in process was smooth and corteous. Also the young man made us 3 breakfast coffees (apology did not catch his name) on Dec 23rd at the coffee shop on was so polite, helpful and proactive. All in all, a true excellent service culture by Hyatt Centric Portland staffs! If I may provide simple but valuable inputs are: (a) very slow WiFi speed for business needs and (b) should be at least bottled water in the room (instead of tap water). The location of this hotel was amazing! Very central to downtown Portland and the staff were so nice and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the hotel cleaning staff were always around when you needed them!

Valet was a bit much. $47 per overnight racks up fast and the parking was not central to the hotel so you could not see where your car was being parked. Wish there was a parking lot or garage with the hotel.

Comfortable and clean, with really friendly staff. I asked to be moved to a higher floor, and was given a room with amazing views of Mount St. Helen. The room was clean and comfy, the location was really central. The staff gave me great restaurant recommendations and there's lots to see and do around the hotel area.

The design was a little industrial - concrete floors and walls. Not my style, but didn't affect the comfort of my stay. I would prefer a bath rather than a shower.

The bar / restaurant should be open a little later. There’s not much around the hotel that stays open or is desirable, the food and bar was great - just closed too early. Also parking is way too expensive- $47 for overnight valet is insane. We had to worry about finding street parking every night.

The room was brilliant, everything was very clean and well-laid out. The fitness centre was awesome! Great facilities.

The staff were hopeless. I waited at the front desk for ages before anyone greeted me and asked what I was after. They didn't give me any information about the facilities or how things worked when I first arrived. The restaurant staff were brilliant, but the front desk staff could definitely improve their customer service!

the room was very nice and spacious. loved the natural light and hotel lighting and the smart tvs were a big plus. also the breakfast at the covet downstairs was fire.

the toilet in 1104 would often not refill right away after a flush and would make that irritating lingering sound for long periods of time. other than that everything about the room and service was excellent.

- Loved the breakfast, and the service was so friendly! Just wish they opened earlier than 7am. As a business traveler, I need to eat and be out of the hotel by 7:30 at the latest. - Beautiful hotel and the bed was super comfy; loved the shower too. - Parking at $47/night was highway robbery.

Could hear the elevators from our room and it made for a restless sleep.
